In DA as a mage, you tend to hear a lot about the evil magisters of Tevinter and the terrible things they and blood magic did.

Your dialogue responses tend to be "Not all mages are like that", "I have no opinion one way or the other", or "Yes all mages are dangerous."

But we're missing the best dialogue option of all! Namely "But I like the idea of mages ruling everything." I'd love it if you had the option to try and restore/recreate an Imperial magocracy. I hope DA3 has it.

Thoughts?

As someone who has played as a mage I completely agree. I wasn't quite as evil as I intended to be due to those dialogue choices being virtually unavailable.

If you want to rule the world with your evil magic, then you definitely shouldn't go around telling people that.

The option to play that way would have been a kick in the pants. XD

Not that I would have used it much...
I'm a do-gooder at heart. ^^;

I agree that there should be more options, including options for a pro-Tevinter Hawke. Part of the problem is that the writers make assumptions about why the player would choose a certain path or what type of character their protagonist would be, so we are often limited in what we can do or say (like the two options provided with Idunna in "Enemies Among Us," that don't match what I would have personally wanted my Hawke to do in that situation).

^Evil people aren't smart. lol^_^ I don't play evil charcters, i do not care if the option is there tho, but if the game check that the character has 100% evil meter it should sumon an Elite-unkillable NPC that hunt down and destroy the evil character.:P:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Well, generally the people saying that are templars and Fenris, and you wouldn't really want either of them to realize your evil plans, now would you?

Considering that the templars don't even "see" mages using magic, I don't think anyone would have noticed. Remember what Cullen tells an apostate Hawke about mages, after all. Or when apostate Hawke and Carver discuss Hawke being an illegal mage right in front of a templar in "Enemies Among Us."

If I were to play that way, I'd like the option of being a bit thick OR reckless.

Choices me likey.

Hmm. Good point. This actually was one of the reasons I really hated the game, especially near the end.

Well if Hawke was evil he probably wouldn't go around telling people how evil he is, but he would probably act and talk in a fashion that does not leave much doubt.

Yes, i'd like to see some real characterization choices implemented, rather than just having slight variationns of a good character *yawn*

You've obviously never played a RPG game where the villain was a mage! :P

To quote the Incredibles... "and he starts monologuing! About how feeble I am and how the world will soon be his!"

Nah, telling someone you plan to rule the world makes it so much sweeter when you actually do it and/or beat them down when they try to stop you.

I mean come on, Hawk got loads of opportunities to say that he hated Templars and that he planned to be Viscount of Kirkwall. Getting the chance to start a new reign of terror there as Mage Hawk would have been awesome.

Even though I am surprised my blood mage can't walk on water and cure leprosy, I think the option should be their.

I love the idea of wanting to support a magocracy. In da2, I tried to rp a pro-tevinter mage hawke as best as I could.

Why not?  What are they gong to do?

This was somewhat of a failng in DA:O, too.  You could *do* evil stuff, and yes, your companions might react (Wynne, Leliana, even Alisatir would pitch a hissy fit sometimes), but no one else in the world even knew, much less cared or reacted.  Most of the time your companions would only care if they were present when you did somethig "wrong".

I miss the days when you cold go on an Evil rampage & everyone knew you were Evil & all the Good people attacked you, even if it meant your game was borked.  It was still a possibility.  Obviously I didn't play every game as Evil, but it was nice that you *could*.

I would like them to realise. Unfortunately they seem to totally braindead or lack completly most senses. I have used all sorts of mage equipment, blood magic, killed people with magic in front of them, etc.

They just stand there and don't seem to care at all. Sometimes they something generic about the city that doesn't change a bit in a decade.
