I keep reading about everyone with their bard/ranger DW rogues, etc. Where in the hell is everyone getting all these talent points? There are only 20, plus a couple from books, but this isnt a lot considering it takes 4 to max a skill. You will use 12 just maxing out the DW tree, then another 8 on lock pick and stealth.... assuming you skip some of the DW school, this still isnt enough to get all the crazy talents I keep reading about. Am I missing something?

Actually, it is possible to reach lvl 25.

So 25 talent points plus a couple that are awarded along the way, plus the two or three that can be bought as talent books.

You get two right off the bat at character creation (besides whichever ones you get as standard issue for your class and origin), possibly three story-awarded ones, and there are (I think) 3 tomes of physical technique. Since Bodahn's stock is reset after your first visit to camp, if you buy one from him when you first go to the party camp and a second one afterward, there are four. Depending on the outcome of the events in Redcliffe, mages will get an additional one, for a total of (including two from Bodahn) 5. I usually reach level 24 by the end of Origins with all the experience that comes from dlc that takes place in Origins (Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner, and Return to Ostagar).

The story-awarded point from Redcliffe is a skill point for rogues, not a talent point like it is for warriors and mages.

So that's 31 for rogues, 32 for warriors, and 33 for mages, plus whatever you get for default talents--which may or may not be useful to you. (If my math is off on that, please someone call me out on it.)

More than enough to max out duel-wielding, stealth, locking picking, and two class specializations--with some leftover.
