[Patchwork]

These are just off the top of my head and I'm on my phone so sorry no links-

Dream of Antiva- lovely mage armour.
Chargen Revamp- NPC faces and hair.
Diverse Companion armour- re-colours of their default armour as upgrades, anything by this modder is worth looking at.
NPCs change clothes during acts- also the utility the modder links to as it means an easy way to swap other things like head morphs and environmental textures.
Any armour by LapisLazzuli I love
DA2 Hairstyles- Flemeth hair!!!

There's a load of texture mods I want recommend but I I can't recall their full names of right now. I guess I have a better memory for pretty armour than anything else

Orlesian noble hunting armour - looks great on Aveline at the start
Apostate's Promise - mage robe (but it's mine, so I'm biased)
Anthracite Robe - mage robe
Vow of Pride - mage robe
Blightlands retexture - looks much better
Anders Talent Mod - removes panacea branch from Vengeance, and gives him spirit healer. (mine too)

I'd recommend the face mods for various characters, personally I've used mods to change Isabella, Merril, Orana, Aveline, Meredith and a few less important people, so they aren't quite so unpleasent to look at.

I used that one too...it's called simple mods...though I use a different for Isabella called Dark Celtic Isabella face morph n the same mod to change her armor from it's white appearance to black( both unromanced n romanced).

I would recommend anything that ishmaeltheforsaken has done - bleetman has linked to one of her mods (Diversified Follower Armors) already. But it's all about Merrill's scarf and the Tougher Dog!

Here's some others.

Ish's Armor De-shelved (b/c I hate the shelves on the Mage/Warrior Champion armors).

I like her Merrill scarf mod as well for the romance armor.

I like these robes: Anthracite Robes

I like anzolino's armor retextures.

Because I like for Merrill to have Healing powahs: Sunnie's Merrill Creation Tree mod

I would also suggest the all items evolve mod...as the mods to make the DLC items from legacy n MotA evolve as well...particularily if you get an equip your party mod( which Ish has the best version of). You could also mods to alter the companions armors though...Fenris of Seheron by LappisLazuli is good...as well as the bunch of others from the models n textures section of the nexxus website.

The only one I consider a must have is that mod that removes the secondary attribute requirement, specifically if you're playing a blood mage, otherwise you're severely gimped. Other than that I guess most of the stuff that has been mentioned is good, though I don't use it myself (except for the Anthracite Robes).

Oh and the tougher doggie mod. Not necessarily a must have but at least Doggie stops being just an ornament with it.

LOTC's skins, hair, eyelash etc. - more skin & hair colour options
Veridical's Natural Hair & natural skin - more skin & hair colour options
Kaiki's Blonde Hawke Family - 6th preset now generates blonde siblings/family

Cosmetic world stuff
Selections from Estelar's Dragon Age 2 NPC morphs & Ali Bengali's Selected NPCs Revamped DA2 - NPC replacers for non companions like Thrask, Seamus, Orana etc.
Ish's Warden Nathaniel - puts him in Warden armour
Andraste's The apostate wardrobe - changes mage robes into outfits that don't scream 'apostate here!'
Ish's armour de-shelved - takes the shelves off the front of champion armours
Xiorai's MotA - Vault Armor Set - Orlesian Style - changes the MotA armours to something more fitting
Beeto's DA2 Darkspawn retextured - makes them look more corrupted/closer to Origins

Gameplay
Scoota's Heal and Potion Cooldown Reduction - speeds them up just a bit
Monochrome Wench's DA2 Import Fixes - fixes some of the flag issues for cameos

Everything but the DA2 import fix is on the nexus, the fix can be found in the BSN projects section.

You can only get that sword if you bough the signature edition of Dragon Age 2 unfortunately...

I'd recommend the Dragon Age redesigned mod which changes everything from the land textures characters faces Darkspawn and Kirkwall itself the mod allows you to install all of it or just the parts you like
