Alrighty then, here's a question: Do Asari carry young and give birth the same as human females, or do they lay eggs and watch them grow (ala John Carter of Mars)? Or is there some other method? There seems to be little explanation of such things in-game.

If asari lay eggs they are perfect... Well almost, I think 2 sexes are still better then one. lol

Why? Because it would hurt less?

Considering they have basically the same bodies as humans, I would assume they give birth the way humans do (although it would make less sense as they breed with their minds). I have to admit though, the thought of Liara laying an egg is pretty funny.

Not to be an ass, but I don't think anyone thinks about this that much.Image IPB

Because it removes the period that makes the gender difference.

Given that Asari have navels, I'd go with the live birth.

Well, we know that quarians give birth the same way as humans. Tali is never going to have children, though, as humans and quarians can obviously not interbreed.

No sh*t.
I find the asari to be kinda freaky.
That's my 2 cents.

I prefer two sexes to one as well. I have quite a fondness for males, which may be why I'm not particularly enamored with the Asari. A mono gendered race just seems so...sad...and lacking.

Well if this is really going to be the thread topic now... squish pit, south mouth, fish taco, ma'am ham, baby hanger, split pit, gut locker, pink link, yippy bog... Ya, I'll be banned soon ^_^

Quiet, you! Back in your hole, vile beast! :P

Everyone knows those navels are only there because Bioware artists were too lazy to photoshop it out of the human skin texture which was just painted blue for Asari :D

I wonder how many people (in-universe) fail sex ed, because of asari reproduction?

Good point. If that's the case, then they are just as screwed as we are, despite their ability to "embrace eternity".

Reaper technology.  Another reason to keep the base, lol.  Image IPB  Space magic for the win.

They're also there to do shots out of (see salarian bachelor party).

Vile beast? Moi?
If I were a vile beast, I would suggest that the indentations on their stomachs were due to randy teenagers not knowing exactly where to stick it.
But nooo, I come up with a perfectly rational, and gentlemanly explanation, for which I get called a beast *sobs* :crying:

*runs crying to his room and slams the door*

You may think that it's obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people still seem to believe otherwise.

Not in the traditional sense as genetic engineering can be done.  It's just deemed illegal as per the codex.

No their race is ok. I am just talking about their sex. Their sex seems less pleasant.

Imagine if humans could embrace eternity! When we would have sex we would feel both our and our partners genetalia, that would be euphoric.

Well. That's reason enough, I suppose. You can't have a race of strippers that can't do body shots for goodness sake!

Would it be possible for an asari to goof up, or intentionally leave out the asari gene for logevity during the embrace?

Only if your partner wasn't faking orgasm. I'm sure Asari never have to deal with that. It's probably an exclusively human concern. Stupid humans. :P

Like an Asari birth defect? *shrug* Surely anything is possible for an imaginary species. We know of one kind of "birth defect" with Morinth.
