If you want to get the ME3 dog tag in BF3, you have to activate the BF3 online pass by purchasing a new one or redeeming a code you were already given in a new BF3 copy.mtw28player wrote...

I have no idea how you do it in Battlefield 9.

Thank you for repeating what is mentioned elsewhere but you kind of missed the point.
Some people, myself included, are a little annoyed that first access to the demo is being based on whether you buy a first person shooter.
Well, if you don't like it, don't buy it and just wait like everyone else.

Hey gang,
Hopefully this is clear from the info Chris, Derek and Jessica posted today - but I'll just repeat it for clarity. I'm seeing a bit of dismay about "having to buy bf3 to get the early demo", which is not the case. To recap:
- the demo will be both singleplayer and multiplayer.
- the single player portion is available to everyone on day one of the demo.
- if you are a BF3 owner who has redeemed online pass, you will have early access to the multiplayer section. This works across platforms because it is based on your EA account. So if you buy BF3 on PC, yes you can play the MP demo early on xbox 360 (as an example).
- as the FAQ states - there are other, fairly painless and *no purchase required* ways for you guys to get the early access as well (and maybe some other goodies...). We just aren't ready to roll that out until ~ early Dec. Stay tuned, it should be pretty fun. I hope! And no, it's not limited to X-hundred people or anything like that. You'll see.
- and the demo will be spectacular
Spread the word, stay positive, talk to you later!
Regards
Jarrett
I am so glad to hear that it works across platforms!

Demo included with Battlefield ?!?
I mean... why not with Kingdom of Amalur or something that actually LOOKS LIKE an RPG... or something... IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE... what the hell is the ****ing point between BATTLEFIELD and MASS EFFECT ?!?
and actually... why don't you just dump it on Steam/PSN/Xbox live. you'll get far more point of views this way.
EARLY ACCESS
EARLY ACCESS
More Points of View is not what EA wants. They want to destroy Call of Duty and to do that, have one of the most antisipated game of the coming year bundled with it to help sell copies to people who normally wouldn't buy it. Think of it as inflating numbers

I am perfectly entitled to post about how I'm somewhat miffed that EA is using Mass Effect 3 as a tool to sell shooters, just as you are entitled to dismiss that without thinking.

honestly i would be completely fine with that, I want my game to be as spoiler free as possible, and since the krogan princess is familiar ground I will get to have a feel of the combat (which is all I really want from a demo) and avoid any potential spoilersFidget6 wrote...
I really hope the single player demo isn't the same Krogan Princess crap we've seen time and time again. It probably will be though. =(

I just hope that you can change the difficulty setting like you could with ME2 demo. I am really interested and seeing what the enemy A.I. would do. And from what we have heard from the level designers the Atlas is a monster on Insanity. Just seeing that it can stop/climb over cover is something to be annoyed/feared about.skiaDUDE wrote...

Meh, there will be other ways to get early access. And the way I see it, at least some of the people who get BF3 will try the ME3 demo even if it isn't something they'd normally play purely because they have the early access thing. And as far as I'm concerned the more people who get to enjoy ME the better - I'd rather a game like ME be successful than yet another military FPS; no matter how good the graphics are, its still the same setting and the same sort of game as we've seen a dozen times (note - I'm sure BF3 is amazing, but I can't help feeling the Frostbite 2 engine deserves a more original setting than a generic modern FPS).voteDC wrote...

Also, hardcore BF3 players are the sort of players we want in the MP community - players who focus on team play as opposed to lone wolf stuff (generalising, but decent BF players are generally good team players).

If the game is new and comes with the online pass which I'm assuming will be included in all new copies of Battlefield 3 then yeah you will have early access.cheezanator48 wrote...
