I bet BF3 gamers will get the demo early january and the rest of us will get it the end of january. I really hope not .
Btw, its def a demo and not a beta right?

I don't think any company is dumb enough to beta test something two months from release. It's most likely a demo.

Didn't Dice do exactly that, though? They put out a beta literally 3 weeks before BF3 came out.

Darn it soccerchick why'd you correct me?! I was on a roll...I think.:? I believe you are right now that I think about it. Two month headstart is better than 3 weeks I guess.

Soccerchick: Ruining killstreaks and rolls, since 2007. XD

But yeah, I'd rather they give it the Gears treatment (BETA-WISE); you know, about 5 months to polish it. Even still, I think it will be a lot of fun.

Link to discussion with EA exec, others about how a MP option is becoming a customer expectation.

Good read. Multiplayer has definitely become an expectation for a lot of gamers. If it's done well I have no problem if a game includes it but if a game never needed it before why add it now? Hopefully that "you won't see traditional single player games in 2014" doesn't ring true. Looking at you Bethesda, keep hope alive.

So we are forced to play online to help in the single game story mode? What about people with no stable form of net?

No, you can get the best ending of the game without evertouching multiplayer or the Facebook site. Multiplayer is just something new that will contribute. If you don't have the multiplayer or a stable net connection, Mass Effect 3 won't punish you for it.

Star Wars the old republic are doing a beta right now and the game is coming out next month i believe and BF3 had a beta pretty soon before the game came out which was thankful because the beta had a a hell of alot of bugs.

Hey gang,

Hopefully this is clear from the info Chris, Derek and Jessica posted today - but I'll just repeat it for clarity. I'm seeing a bit of dismay about "having to buy bf3 to get the early demo", which is not the case.  To recap:

- the demo will be both singleplayer and multiplayer.
- the single player portion is available to everyone on day one of the demo.
- if you are a BF3 owner who has redeemed online pass, you will have early access to the multiplayer section.  This works across platforms because it is based on your EA account. So if you buy BF3 on PC, yes you can play the MP demo early on xbox 360 (as an example).
- as the FAQ states - there are other, fairly painless and *no purchase required* ways for you guys to get the early access as well (and maybe some other goodies...). We just aren't ready to roll that out until ~ early Dec.  Stay tuned, it should be pretty fun. I hope!  And no, it's not limited to X-hundred people or anything like that. You'll see.
- and the demo will be spectacular :)

Spread the word, stay positive, talk to you later!

Regards

Jarrett

Thanks, Jarrett. Rock on! :police:

When will the other ways to get early access be announced?

No, no, and no. You don't need to play the MP to get the best ending, it's just a shortcut for the more casual player. Something most of us here are not when it comes to the ME series. :D

IF
you plunk down the cold hard earned cash to PURCHASE this DEMO and thereby give Bioware vitally needed Player feedback so they can 'TWEAK' <ME3 as needed prior to its release
THEN
The COST of the Demo should be Credited to you towards the purchase of the full game.

YOU are acting as Play Testers, why Shouldn't you get SOMETHING for it ?

What gave you the idea that they're charging for the demo?

I am sure BioWare will include some promotional item for people who play this demo. I mean how else will we unlock N7 Assault Rifle.

If they're charging for the demo, then it's not really a "demo" anymore, is it?

Anyway, I'm sure it won't happen.

It could just be a special rifle you can unlock in the game or through the Alliance network.

Oh EA .. once again you annoy me with your weird business practices. BF3 not on Steam, so that aiunt happening. ME3 not list on steam. So that means Origin or SecuriROM. I tolorate you EA, just like SOE ... doesnt mean I like you .. not one bit.

As for Bioware .... Keep making great games, please. Stop being EA's b*** tho. Not helping you.

Ummm... ***COUGH***, the part I highlighted.

I didn't find the other "fairly painless and *no purchase required" methods for early access. Did I miss it somewhere or is it just a, ummm.... mistake?

Not that 3 days is much but, well, you know?

Amazing how things like this get overlooked on BSN forums. People would rather **** and complain about things that Bioware has no control over, like Origin, and Bioware would rather waste time answering stupid questions about some ****** who appeared for a few second in a trailer and we'll never see again. Why can't we get responses to questions regarding prior commitments like this? Why can't I get an answer regarding DLC that if answered would result in an additional sale? Most importantly, why is it that the people who complain loudly and often about **** that's pretty inconsequential get all the attention from Bioware?
