Social games (Facebook, Google+, etc.) are planned for ME3 to increase your “readiness-level.”
Apps for Smartphones are planned to increase your Galactic readiness level.

...

Seriously ?

You don't need to play them, just another way to spread ME.

Was really asking to see if they was actaully confirmed yet with some of these, and to actually express my disbelief if true, seems official enough but then again alot of stuff could seem official if done right, it doesnt appear that any of the info is from a bioware dev - atleast not yet.

Edit ; They appear to have used "Me3news" on twitter as an actual source for this, ive never heard of this "me3news" or if they are legit as no one heard from the devs on the twitter thread right ?

That twitter is from Phaedon where he updates everything about ME3, just like his update thread. But don't worry about some silly social game, it won't affect in any way if one doesn't play it.

Playing Dragon Age: Legends on Facebook unlocked items to use in Dragon Age II, it seems likely they will employ the same system with Mass Effect 3.

Not so sure if this was mentioned earlier, but I only have ONE request for Bioware/EA

Please don't pull off a SC2/Diablo 3 by requiring constant internet connection just to play single player mode; I rely on my PS3 for my gaming needs and given PSN's nature (unexpected downtime, maintenance downtime, etc.), online only single play = not fun.

That's the main reason why I stopped endorsing/supporting Blizzard games/other games that use the same DRM. Oh and the "there are other games to play" line pretty much killed any hype I had for Diablo 3.

I would like to ask about Origins, EA and BSN. Well, as this is an EA owned business - does BSN work the same way as Origins?
EULA says that by by entering/using EAs products, sites I ALREADY ACCEPT terms and conditios to be "spyed upon". Is this the same with BSN?
What data is collected/intercepted by site's agents?

Derek Larke wrote...

Hi Everyone, Evil Chris here.

I am stealing Derek's post to provide more detail on the upcoming Mass Effect 3 single player AND multiplayer demos. Jessica posted this FAQ in the ME3 News forum, but I think it should be here as well.

Mass Effect 3 will have a pre-release demo in January 2012. This demo will have both single player and multiplayer sections, giving fans a taste of what's to come on March 6, 2012. Be first to the front lines in the multiplayer section of the Mass Effect 3 demo! Redemption of the Online Pass for Battlefield 3 will unlock this early access. But
rallying for war is just getting started - in late November / early December, BioWare will announce other ways for fans to engage the enemy with their friends online from day one!

What are the details of the Mass Effect 3 pre-release demo?

•The Mass Effect 3 pre-release demo will launch in January 2012 (exact date TBA).
•The demo will include both single-player and multi-player sections.
•The demo will be released in all regions where the game is

How can I get early access to the multi-player portion of the Mass Effect 3 demo coming in January 2012?

•Owners of Battlefield 3, on any platform, who activate their Online Pass will automatically be granted early  access to the multiplayer portion of the Mass Effect 3 demo. There is no need to enter any other codes, the early access will be applied to the EA Account associated with the Online Pass.
•This applies to all regions where the demo is released (to be announced)
•The exact date of the demo launch will be announced in late November
•There will be another program whereby players and fans of the Mass Effect  franchise can unlock this early access (with no purchase necessary) – this will also be announced in late November or early December.
•There will also be a tool posted on www.masseffect.com allowing players to check if their EA account has been granted the early access.
•The length of the early access period is TBA.
•The single-player section of the demo will be available to all players on day one of the demo launch.

As mentioned, we will have more information and dates in the near future. :)

All I can say is that this is all confusing.

I think I'll just wait until it's available on xbox. If not...then I'll watch youtube videos until the game is released.

It surely will be available on the 360! Mass Effect 1 was exclusive first on the Xbox and then PC and Bioware's Marketing Director won't let us Xbox players down.

Wait, how does EA know which account has unlocked the demo? I just put in Battlefield 3, and it never asked me to login to an EA or Origin account. Additionally, where is the demo ticker that's supposed to be in Battlefield 3?

Agreed. But I'm sure it will be there soon.

I got to thinking and I think that the demo ticker might start when you register and sign into the none existing web site battlelog.battlefield.com. I tryed to log into the site and got sent to centurylink web search page.

I signed in there, no ticker. :/ found out that the ea account has to be the same email as your live account, so that's why battle log synced up without asking me to log in. Still wondering about the demo ticker though.

Forgive me if this has been asked, but is the demo access platform specific? Here's what I mean: I'm thinking of getting Battlefield 3 on PS3, but would want the ME3 demo on my 360, since that's where I've played the first two games (plus I have almost no hard drive space for the Battlefield 3 texture pack). The FAQ says it's tied to your EA account when you register the Battlefield 3 online pass, so does that theoretically mean I could play the demo on multiple platforms as long as I'm using my same EA account or will I have to choose at some point?

I pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 as soon as it was available, I BETTER get the multiplayer part of the Demo, or I'm not going to be happy. I don't want to have to play some silly facebook game to get it either. I just expect to get it. And that's that.

I agree.

My pre-order for the game has been there since 15 April 2011.

Thank you for repeating what is mentioned elsewhere but you kind of missed the point.

Some people, myself included, are a little annoyed that first access to the demo is being based on whether you buy a first person shooter.
