Sure, feel how you like. And adjust your mental image of my age while you're at it. It doesn't bother me. I shall continue to feel how I do, and yes, I know it's EA, not Bioware making this call. It's for that exact reason I object to it. As for the other, freedom of speech and all that. I can't really explain my position better than I have, so I'll rest my case. The beautiful thing about other people whining is you can scroll past it. so, SCROLL AWAY. I won't mind.

There's nothing wrong with BF3 players getting early access to the ME3 demo, but people who pre-ordered the game itself should get it too.

I did both. I should get it extra early.

I'm not really interested in playing the demo, I'll buy the game regardless and don't want the demo to spoil anything for me. That said, I really want to know if my PC can run the game, as I want to keep all my progress and backstory from ME1 and 2. The demo should let me know this, and once I've confirmed this, I'll be ordering the CE.

If you can play ME2 on your pc I think its safe to assume to can handle ME3. At least unless they stop just porting the console version and actually give us high-res textures this time. But I doubt that.

I too am 100% sure I'm buying ME3 already so a part of me wants to not play the demo so I can have a fresh experience when the full game comes out. But another much bigger part of me is waaaaaay to impatient for that nonsense lol. Maybe I'll compromise with myself and only play the multiplayer part.

If anybody at Bioware is reading this, hey guys how about letting us skip the first part of the demo that spoils the game intro and go straight to the part on the Salarian world (if that is in fact going to be a part of the "official" version of the demo).

This reminds me of that episode of "Pinky and the Brain" where, in order to take over the world, Brain decides to create a replica of Earth -call it Mark II- and offers free t-shirts in order to get them from Mark I and into Mark II.

I agree that the BF3 promotion is more inclined to get FPS players to play ME3 rather than the other way around, particularly since the promotion concerns the multiplayer segment of ME3. The leaked demo beta seems to support this with the inclusion of the action, story, and RPG modes. Furthermore, as much as it pains me to say this, the number of FPS players in the world trumps those of RPG several times over.

But this then begs the question of why releasing the demo earlier for owners of BF3? Why not release it to everyone at the same time? If the point of the promotion is merely to get players from BF3 into ME (or FPS into RPG), what is the point of releasing it earlier as a premium? Fans of Battlefield and/or FPS in general will probably buy the game regardless of whichever promotion comes along with it, right? Especially when the promotion is a demo of an RPG that will still be released for free at a later date. This seems to lend credence to the belief that the promotion is actually aimed at ME players in order to get them to play BF3.

Well, yes and no. To my mind, there are several purposes to the promotion. To begin with, it makes BF3 owners feel special without actually costing you a dime. In a way, it is they who are being rewarded for their purchase with perks that won't be immediately available to anyone else. It doesn't really matter what these perks are, what matters is that you and you alone are entitled to them. If the demo were released to everyone at the same time, there'd be nothing special about it, right? Of course, what's the point of having these perks if you won't enjoy them? So that'll get them to play the demo at some point or another. Some may even get hooked on the demo and decide to try the game itself. Once this happens you can consider the promotion a win.

This leaves a lot of fans of ME in an angry state to say the least. Those who have been following Shepard's exploits through ME1 and ME2 may take it as a personal affront and go as far as refusing to buy the game on principle alone. Now we can't have that, can we? Solution: well, offer a different promotion to fans of ME. The aim of this promotion, however, would be to calm the waters more than anything else. Yes, that's the cynic in me doing the writing.

I don't know what shape or form this promotion will take, but I'll let the cynic take a guess. It would be aimed at registered game users, be it of ME1 or ME2, that way you reward game owners, encourage users to register their copies of the game/s (I'm sure EA would appreciate this), and limit your pool of candidates. The demo FAQ says no purchase will be necessary, but the cynic in me can easily counter that there's no need to purchase anything if you already have a copy of ME1 or ME2 (oh, yes, I can be meaaaaan:devil:). To make it more interesting, my cynic counterpart would require all hopefuls to submit a short, written, entry on some arbitrary subject, say, what kind of man/woman your Shepard has been so far. Maybe open a thread where each hopeful will make a single, short, post concerning the subject. Of course, this would require someone from either EA or Bioware to read quite a number of posts/entries, so it would have to be arranged with time to spare.

If after all this, there are still quite a number of angry people, you can always throw some Facebook contest to appease the masses. Of couse, this contest would only be open to members of Bioware's ME Facebook page who are not, at the same time, registered game users on the Bioware forums (or people will scream injustice, treason, and many other things till the end of days).

Having said this, I could still be completely off the mark...

I was watching the video leaks for this and there is still that ****ing HORRIBLE HORRIBLE vignette that covers your screen when you get injured, can you remove that? It's **** and you can't see anything when it's up. I can pay attention to my health myself, thank you very much. I don't need some **** covering the screen because I've gone into tunnel vision mode like some players.

Also I hope there's a PC demo, cause that's what I'd get the game on. I sure hope it doesn't use console assets :|

Erm... the blood splatter is a lot different/better than the streaks that were in ME2 and it's less obtrusive than the latter as well from what I've seen of it. If you can't see anything with that blood splatter on then you need your eyes testing.

It's still a(n) (ugly) problem (like your avatar) is the fact of the matter...

Why do they even add this crap? It only works for FPS.

Mmm demo, guess this means I'll have a definitive way of knowing whether or not getting ME3 is a done deal.

Maybe. The universe BioWare has built up with Mass Effect has the potential to be huge. They already have comics and novels, with a well done movie Mass Effect could skyrocket in popularity.

Depands on what you're asking. Movies? Games? Books? Any?

And it's really a rather pointless question since that is always going to be subjective.

There will be another program whereby players and fans of the Mass Effect franchise can unlock this early access (with no purchase necessary) – this will also be announced in late November or early December.

Still not announced?

I was a huge star wars fan before i played the mass effect series, now those days when i see star wars games or movies i just skip them. I am a huge fan of mass effect and i hope more games (rts or something else) will be released after ME3!. :o:O:O
