Hopefully, if I heard true, I will still be able to play Mass Effect 3 Co-op early access on the PC with my Online Pass. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm not computer savvy but I believe BioWare has said if you're system can run Mass Effect 2 it should be fine running Mass Effect 3.-N7-Seeker wrote...
ME3 is going to use the same engine as ME2 or upgrade? Because I have money to buy the CE, but I also consider buying a new Video Card, but I can only get one. How ME3 will run on this system?

i reckon new year till we hear anything now
Yeah, paying for 'live membership' seems riddiculous. That's consoles biggest downside. In the end it cost you more than pc. Still consoles have lots of great games.

I guess I'll have to wait patiently until January, then. (or watch it on youtube, or be a really naughty pirate)
Surely the point of a demo is that I don't have to pay to try it, I don't want Battlefield 3. EA are just corporate pimps.

Considering you don't have to pay to try it this comment was unnecessary.Jamie_3213 wrote...

If you want it to run at 60 fps steady, you'll probably want an upgrade on the GPU side.

I get the feeling that people don't realize that the early access is only for the multiplayer part of the demo. Everyone gets access to the single player demo at the same time.
I was wondering about this. I saw an unboxing of BF3 and saw that it only applies to the multiplayer part of the demo. But nobody else was really talking about this and so they may already know or not. I only care for the single player part of the demo, so whateffs.

•The single-player section of the demo will be available to all players on day one of the demo launch.

You pay much more for games. Like I said before, PC has much more other use and capabilities are beyond consoles in every possible way. I'd rather take smooth frame rate, better visuals and keyboard & mouse controls. On top of that it is fun to build your own rig. High end 2006 GPU like 8800 GTX (and a bit newer mid end cards like 8800 GT, which was released in early 2007) will offer better visuals and performance than any console today. Count the years. Let's not turn this into console vs. PC flame thread.wchsplayerchris2 wrote...

While I agree, I feel the need to give my hybrid perspective...
I love my PC, and I love my Xbox. On my Xbox, I have more friends to regularly play with, since my IRL friends would rather own consoles. I have out-of-the-box working games, without compatibility worries, downloading times, launch setbacks, DRM woes, etc. I also have to worry less on consoles about cheaters in multiplayer games, since it's much easier to alter game files on PC (and console developers are pretty relentless in catching cheaters). Plus, there's always the used game market to compete with PC's lower prices. And, to be frank, I'd rather pay $60/year for XBL than use Origin for free. Just being honest.
That said, my PC is awesome, and any game I get on it looks better than its console counterpart. It's also cheaper more often than not, as I stock up on games from Steam sales and promotions (like Batman Arkham City for $34 on launch day). I have the option of either using a gamepad or K/M in most games I play, which is nice, and I can mod to extend the lifetime of a game I enjoy (character swaps in RE5 have kept me playing the campaign way longer than I expected). However, due to pirating, companies often don't care about the PC version as much, and I get stuck with fewer updates, a lack of DLC that's available for consoles, pushed back release dates, etc. Unless the game is coming from a PC-first company, the console version is likely going to be the more solid product despite inferior hardware.
And, let's be honest here. Without an Xbox, I would've missed out on some of my favorite gaming moments this generation (Alan Wake, Gears 2/3, DR2 and RE5 console-exclusive DLC, etc.). And without a PC, I would've missed out on Steam sales, modding, APB: Reloaded, SWTOR, etc.
I'm trying to appeal to both sides here. Can't we agree that both platforms are equally awesome?

The OP says things would be announced in November/early December. Well, I still have yet to see a release date, or an early access option for those who didn't want to buy BF3. Has any more information come about recently that I missed?

In another thread in the General Discussions forum Chris Priestly Stated that Bioware was going on Christmas Break Dec 23, 2011 for two weeks.
Bioware will return Jan 9, 2012 (a monday), and at any time afterwards (possibly including that very day) new info will come.
Priestly also said that it is still possible that the demo be relased Jan 30/31 (Monday/tuesday respectively).
Also, I posted this info a page or two back, so it is possible you missed it.

it kind of bites though. buying BF2 was a terrible decision, but ratings for it weren't bad. but it is so different from Call of Duty games that it is really hard to get anywhere, and all the swearing really bugs me. was really hoping they were going to have the demo release maybe Christmas day, can be automated afterall, or maybe New Year's day. but this says that we have to wait till just a little more than a month before the game will be released. anyone know if it will allow cross-platform for the multiplayer? got a promo code for 25% off at origin, and if it has cross-platform, no reason why it shouldn't, then I could get the XBox collector's version for my brother, after I get the normandy thing for my avatar. ha ha
