People are buying a game they normally wouldn't (BF3) only to get access to a PART of another game's DEMO a few days before everyone else. And, you are expecting them to act rationally?? LOL!!

Actually that brings a question up! My bf got BF3 so he has the slip.. how do i use it?? its not very straight forward..

If he used it already then you can't.

No he hasnt but i dunno how to use it.. it doesnt describe at all!

If he's played any multiplayer online on BF3, then he has already used the code. The code is the Online Pass which is the only way you can play multiplayer.

So that means he will be notified in game or something?

I'm watching the demo's release date as intently as the rest of you are, but really, dropping the F bomb in here? Over a demo? This entitlement complex is not healthy, folks. In the mean time, I'll have the couple of games that I got for Christmas to hold me over.

Will we be able to use our very own Shepard or will we be forced to use dt, milk-drinker shepard?

What do you think..? No, its a demo. There is no point in doing something like that. They haven't done that in any previous demo titles.

They did with the Mass Effect 2 demo.

Regardless it is a pretty pointless feature for a demo. Since you are only taking on two missions which probably don't even equal an hours worth of gameplay.

It's not pointless at all. I'm sure that there are many other gamers who would like to see their Shepard in the demo.

I don't think we have any idea how it's meant to work. I'm an Xbox player so I imagine I'll see it on the dashboard somewhere when they bring it out or go searching through the marketplace as soon as they announce the early access is ready.

Does anyone else feel a delay coming for not just the demo but for the entire game?

The news for ME3 has been quiet.  Too quiet.:bandit:

That's what I've been saying. I hope not but I wouldn't be surprised.

I doubt they would delay it, with The Old Republic only just released they would be wanting to focus on marketing that instead of a game due out in March. Not to mention Bioware staff have posted in forums, twitter etc that news is coming and that staff were on a 1 or 2 week break for christmas/new year.

I think it's sort of strange that someone would buy Battlefield 3 only to get a hint of something that comes out in three months time. I guess for me, it sounds odd because I'm a PC gamer strictly and sole FPS games aren't necessarily my thing. The way the combat is set up for Mass Effect is a nice balance between being able to shoot things to oblivion and also have some control over the situation (aka in game pause, power wheel selection, etc.). Battlefield 3 while fun, is not something I'd want to spend $30-50 (not sure of the price currently) on if I wouldn't play it.

However, this is a great opportunity for those who were considering buying Battlefield 3 already, and also enjoy the realm of Mass Effect. But to buy it simply for a demo just seems a bit rash of a decision. I suppose that it's one's own money to spend how s/he likes though.

Anyways, I'm extremely excited for this single player demo release. Hopefully with pre-ordering it so early in the game I'll be allowed to demo the multi-player experience as well, even though I'm not active in the forums. If I don't get chosen however, I won't be too terribly crushed. I think in fact I might be more depressed after I play the demo -- knowing I'll have to wait three more months for something so fantastic. Kind of seems like starting a movie, getting through twenty minutes, and then having to wait a few months to watch the rest.

Just my two cents on the whole ordeal though, and those two cents can buy you a microscopic gumball if you're lucky.

Entitled? Did anyone outside of Bioware/EA pay for an account here? IF you did, then I agree, you are entitled to the info. IMO

So let us be patient. WE will have the info soon enough.

I don't think so, but considering the unbroken loyalty of BioWare's fans, I don't think it's too much to ask for a little more responsiveness from their side. It's still a two-way street. They're still a good company (or so I think), so wouldn't it  make things a lot easier - for us and them - if they just lived up to their good reputation and gave the fans at least some info - which is long overdue, anyway? ^_^

I don't think what pisses the fans off most is the fact that they still have to wait, but rather that the announced things are overdue for quite some time now and there hasn't been an explanation on that whatsoever. Well, that's what annoys me personally most, anyhow.

I have Battlefield 3, and not for the early access to the ME 3 mp demo portion. I like Battlefield, a lot.

To all Battlefield 3 owners:

*Early access requires EA/Origin account and registration of the single-use serial code provided with new, full retail purchases of Battlefield 3.

I believe the "single-use serial code" is the "Online Pass" activation code.

Watch the Battlefield 3 in-game ticker for the early access demo date announcement in January 2012, or sign up at www.masseffect.com to receive notification.

I copied this info from the Mass Effect 3 sheet of paper that came with my copy of Battlefield 3.

They haven't released the details yet, hopefully in the next week or two we'll be given the specifics on the demo and then when the time comes, we'll be notified.

So perhaps this question was asked already, but if I activate BF3 pass on PS3, will I be able to get early demo access on x360?

Possibly.  The date for news was retracted, and Priestly stated the 9th of January as the first chance (Actually, he stated after Christmas Break then was pressured into revealing when that was) for any news whatsoever.

More responsiveness would be great, I agree.

At this moment, the only people at work in Bioware are forbidden to say anything by reason of NDA.

:wizard:

EDIT:  The arrow to the knee joke is as bad as the "Someone stole your sweetroll" the guards give...

Well, that explains a lot. Tbh, I haven't really kept track of the tiniest news shreds out there, just the main stuff - so I must've missed the news that said the date for further info was retracted. Where exactly did you find that?
And I mean, if their Christmas break goes till 9th, fair enough. It's not that anyone wants to torpedo their right to their break, anyway. Communication just could have been better beforehand. (Although... now that I think about it, fans would have been pissed either way... But hell, it's a matter of principle.) :pinched:
But anyhow, there's a lot of pressure already, so I'm pretty sure as well that we can expect some news soon enough, no argument there.

Could someone check (with multiplayer access) if it works cross-plaforms?
I'll be playing on the PC, but the wife doesn't know if she shall get it for her box (where she stores most of her characters) or for the computer. The point is to let us play together.

It was probably mentioned somewhere before, but I haven't found the information.
