Yay for demo. Nay for needing to get Battlefield.
Ach well...

You don't need to get Battlefield, unless you're so impatient you simply must secure your early-access ASAP.  Otherwise, just wait until they announce the other ways to get early access w/o buying anything.

Well looks like I won't be playing the demo I didn't want battlefield and as much as I like Mass Effect I'm not going to buy a game I don't want for a demo.

Read the whole FAQ.

Hmm, I wonder if we'll be able to import our saves... Could you do that with the ME2 demo?

Well ... The only ME2 demo was for PS3 where there wasn't a ME1 to import savegames from......

A demo is cool and all, but if anything I'll only be using to to prospect the multiplayer. I'll wait patiently for the non-teaser full single player, thank you. :>

I'm not overly arsed about the whole early access thing since it's multiplayer-only, which I don't care about (yet). I'm just glad the SP demo is releasing for everyone regardless of online pass.

I have a quick question about the MP demo regarding spoilers. According to the Bioware Pulse episode released a few weeks ago, co-op "missions" will take place in locations Shepard has visited in the campaign, thus, I fear that if I sample the MP aspect of the demo I will spoil plot-specific destinations from the SP.

Of course, I could simply not play the MP portion of the demo, but I fear for my lack of self-control. =p

I hope that those of us that don't intend on buying BF3 will have other ways of playing the demo...everyone should be able to play the demo :(

As has been mentioned a few times now, you only need Battlefield 3 for the MP portion of the demo. If you're like me and just want to try out the SP and leave the MP until you buy the final game, then you don't have to get Battlefield 3.

As also mentioned a few times now, you don't need BF3.  It's just one way of getting early access to MP:

"There will be another program whereby players and fans of the Mass Effect franchise can unlock this early access (with no purchase necessary) – this will also be announced in late November or early December."

I'm glad that the TBA ways of getting into the demo will be a no-purchase required. However, that may also be that they'll only let in 10,000 players or something. Please Bioware, keep your fans happy and make it a fully public demo? I'll bake you cookies if I get into the demo.

Probably not, as it is a demo and it'd be an easier process if they used the default Shepard for the singleplayer aspect.

Will the MP demo also be available for Xbox? And if so do I get access to it if I buy the PC version of Battlefield 3?

I hope this somehow involves pre-ordering Mass Effect 3 or... something of the sort. Who knows...

Whats this "online pass" ?
Is it like the Cerberus network or is it something I can access with xbox live marketplace?

When you say early access do you mean when Battlefield 3 comes out on Oct 25 ?

I wonder the exact same thing. I'm getting BF3 on PC and I play ME on the xbox so I want the demo on the xbox.

Dear EA and BioWare,

I suppose this means EA will be manipulating reviews for Mass Effect 3 as well, now, just like Battlefield 3? I mean, you're already pulling out all the stops with "exclusive" demos for repeat customers, and if I learned one thing in my marketing 101 class, it's that the best way to sell something, it's via underhanded business practices and payola.  I can't wait to see those rows and rows of perfect 11/10 scores on Metacritic!

Sincerely,
Your Biggest Fan Ever

Well, I'm already getting BF3 (as a longtime BF-series fan), so this is good news! The only thing that does annoy me is having to use Origin (for either BF3 or ME3)!

Interesting. I'll definitely give it a try. I hope it makes waiting a bit easier then. I have BF3 coming from Amazon UK.
