Here is my wild speculation based on everything i have read.

Demo World-wide release: The week of Feb 5-11 to coincide with  KoA: Reckoning . This is also about a month before the release fo the game. KoA: Reckoning  demo is also coming out about a month (a little less) before the release date. I am assuming the EA thinks that if they release it the same week as KoA, all the people that buy KoA will play the demo to unlock the ingame items since you have to play both demos to unlock all the items (I think that is what I read).

Demo Early Access release : Was likely originally slotted for this week (1/11/12), but got pushed back for some reason (hopefully small changes based on beta feedback and not marketing strategy). I hope it will be next week, but I think it will likely be the following week (Jan 29th- Feb 4th). I think it will only be a week before the world wide release beacuse that will help build hype for it. If it is too early, then people will forget about it. A week early allows all of us and assorted media sites (i.e., Kotaku) to play it, post comments, etc. and allows people who are not familiar with the series (EA's push to make it friendly to new players) to get excited about the demo.

However....I could be wrong on all of this

but that would be the opposite of early access for Multiplayer. It's a good theory, but I'd say Multiplayer the 23rd (still waiting on other ways to get to that, BioWare.) and regular Demo the 6th of February is more likely.

LOL, the only time the world will be wiped out is from the sun exploding or turing into a super-nova, oe even another solar system will colide with ours BUT we will die of old age before all that. the earth has million of years on it and so do we if WE keep it that way. Understand now ladies and gents.

It also can have influence on the magnetic field of the earth. But I don't know how big a solar flare has to be to screw it up. I think very very very enormous. And even if it do so there would only be some climatic changes. The earth wouldn't be destroyed and human could only be whipped out by themselves.

More politely; I doubt anybody really cares if you cancel your preorder because you couldn't get the demo in january, mainly because you're acting like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum rather than trying to illustrate a point. Your mother presumably stopped listening to you when you stamped your feet and demanded sweets when you were 5, why on Earth would EA care if you (and just you, as in singular you, and not you as in a representative of a number of people) canceled your pre-order?

There is even a piece of paper in the BF3 case that says that early access will be provided in January, so if they don't release it in January I think they may be able to be sued for false advertising. And I don't know about you, but advertising that they will release early access to the demo in January kind of entitles people who paid for that access to get the demo, if not right now then soon in January.

No, I said it would go Open access on the sixth.  Multiplayer and single player are going live at the same time for select users.  I think that happens on the 23, I think everyone will get access to multiplayer on the 6th.

I hope so...  i just so some gameplay footage from the leaked demo and god it looks better and epic so can't wait and i wouldn't balme others if they couldn't

If this is released in Jan I'll probably play the demo, if its released in Feb, I'll ptobably just wait it out the extra month until the full release. Besides I've just pulled out Star KOTOR 1 & 2 to keep me busy and have four more ME 1 & 2 playthroughs to finish up with.

I don't fancy your chances of successfully arguing false advertising imo. One is because they wouldn't have guaranteed its release in January and two as long as you do actually get early access, then no harm no foul (but definitely freaking annoying). While everyone's mileage of 'how much their anticipation level is for the ME3 demo' undoubtedly varies, it is after all, just a demo... and you're going to have to successfully argue (in court) that the entire reason of why you bought BF3 was for the piece of paper that says you'll get early access of ME3 in january as opposed to the actual game BF3 in the first place, which frankly I think the judge would just dismiss (unless you have lots of money and really good lawyers).

Regardless; I would really appreciate the ability to download the ME3 demo right about now.

This is totally wrong there are literally hundreds of ways life on Earth could come to an end, many of which could happen at the very second I am writing this. The most dangerous of which that could happen now is a Gamma Ray buster and there happens to be a possible gamma ray buster pointed directly at earth. 

Anyway I hope the Demo date is announced sometime soon.

DA 2 did this (free item if played and defeated the demo)

EDIT:  Monday is the next likely time for new info on the Demo.  It's the weekend.  Doubt anyone is at work.
