Once you've registered the online pass with EA, you can play the ME3 demo on PC, Xbox or PS3vikingsberg wrote...
so you're saying that if i get BF3 ON PS3, that online pass that's connected to my EA account will allow me to play the beta on XBOX 360? Or do i have to get BF3 for the the 360 to make it all work?
PC version of course will require Origin though, which bites the big one

ME's MP component is coop. A hardcore FPS gamer who is a fan of BF3 but isn't a fan of the ME series would likely not be interested in playing against AI.
BF3 also has coop, guess they would'nt have implemented it if "hardcore gamers" would play mere PvP.
If they intended to promote ME3 through BF3 then why isn't this offer listed on the BF3 main website?
I think it'll come once it gets closer to the ME3 demo release and a date has been set. Right now, their website might have other problems ^^

And to whoever said they are doing this to appeal to hardcore gamers, you are an idiot. Playing MW, BF, and generic shooter 12 does not make you a hardcore gamer. Putting in over a 1000hrs on ME and ME2 makes you a hard core gamer.

I'm fairly sure this has been said, but BF3 has a MUCH larger market penetration than ME3 ever will. They are pairing the two so the hordes of people that buy BF3 might take a look at ME3 and get it more purchases. Battlefield is the bigger franchise here.Lorrelai wrote...
...I do understand it's a way to increase B3 sales and maybe some people will buy it just to get their hands on the ME3 demo...

Getting a totally unrelated game to unlock a part of this demo really gets on my nerves. I will not get Battlefield 3 as it's not my type of game. I EXPECT us LOYAL Mass Effect customers to get it as first priority and the FAQ should tell us so.

This is rather disturbing. I pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 as soon as I heard about it. It really ticks me off that there's no mention of pre-orders of Mass Effect 3 getting the multiplayer part of the game too. This should be the number one priority I'd think.

They just want someone to buy this game cause not many want to willingly without encentive. I hope those of us who pre-ordered the collectors eddition will be allowed to get it early otherwise that's kinda unfair to their fans who will pay huge amounts of money for this game.....

The FAQ mentioned that there is another way besides BattleField 3 and that way should be mentioned by late November/Early December. <_< Jeez.

(Side note: I heard that people who purchased BF3 get N7 dog tags? Is this true, or does it come as an in-game extra... Thanks in advance.)

Yes, the FAQ says that there will be other ways through which people can play the demo ahead of time, but the fact that BF3 owners get earlier access than those who pre-ordered the game is ridiculous. Of course, I'm not blaming Bioware for this. Still bummed, though. *waits patiently for updates*

N7 dog tags are a in-game extra.

I pre-purchased the ME3 N7 edition four months ago, I think that that should qualify me for the early, early Demo, AkA the Beta test.:innocent:
I hope. With the ridiculous amount of good titles, read Skyrim, I don't want to shell out the cash for BF3. Plus I've had ME3 pre ordered after the day they announced it at last years VGA's. Went in the next day and put down 80 bucks for ME3. Gamestop guy was all like, but we're not taking pre-orders yet. So I just told him put it down on my account man it's not hard. In the end we had to compromise and I was only allowed to put down 5 bucks as an early reservation. Four months ago when the N7 edition was announced, I walked in and thanked them for wasting my time.
/useless info.
But still I hope that's one of the ways to get the early access.

All the FAQ says is that BF3 owners will get EARLY access to the multi-player part of the demo. It also says that there will be more methods to gain said early access to the multi-player part of the demo announced in Nov/Dec. Nowhere does it say anything about the actual release date of the demo (other than Jan 2012) or when the early access to the multi-player part will begin. At a guess, I wouldn't expect early access to be before early Dec, more likely late Dec - perhaps 2-3weeks before the public release of the demo.Xannerz wrote...

As @WolfForce99 said, the N7 dog-tags are in-game (BF3) items only - nothing physical.Xannerz wrote...

I do agree with everyone that this stinks of EA.
Thanks for implying everyone would think the same way. Since I don't.
I can fully understand the reasoning behind it and it won't bother me to wait a few days for an MP demo. After all - it's a DEMO, for crying out loud! It's not like you have to wait 2 extra month for the final game, so get over it already.
And to whoever said they are doing this to appeal to hardcore gamers, you are an idiot. Playing MW, BF, and generic shooter 12 does not make you a hardcore gamer. Putting in over a 1000hrs on ME and ME2 makes you a hard core gamer.
You should be careful with what you assume, since this makes you the idiot. "hardcore gamers" in that context meant FPS-hardcore gamers (yeah, people can play those games hardcore, too), many of those will play BF3 and might have never played any of the ME-games. So with this offer (I think the Limited Edition of BF3 even has a flyer promoting the ME3 MP demo) they try to appeal to those gamers. I for one welcome new people to the ME-Universe - every one of us was new to ME at one point, so try to be open minded...

Bioware has hinted that there will be other ways through facebook contests and such, however. But really, just get BF3, amazing game. Plus, if you get it and have played the first two Mass Effect games like we have, you get N7 dog tags in BF3! I wear them all the time, just to show those multiplayer so and so's that this man is mainly a single player gamer!
(I only play BF3 for the co-op and single player, don't hit me. And yes, BF3's single player is damn amazing.)
