@javierabegazo
I think it is important that this topic be its own thread, because this is something that isn't a frrquently asked question.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bots for multiplayer would be a good thing so later on down the road when all the ME3 multiplayer hype dies down we can have something to help us through. It gives us the chance to be able to play as we wish with 1 to 3 bots (should scale with difficulty of the mission). We should be able to have both people and bots in the same game, an example being 2people 2 bots ect.

Arguements against encouraged.

Mainly i'm thinking 4 years and beyond when i want to play the trilogy first to last and be able to enjoy all content available 3/6/2012 and beyond.

If Bioware were to implement Bots there could also be some type of seemless drop in drop out system where if someone in game leaves the bot takes over, or vice versa, inviting someone to take over for the bot. Alot of interesting things come with addition of bots.

I felt it was important to have this here to show which directions they were going and to stimulate discution about how bots could be implemented with these recent developements.

I understand that you can play the MP missions solo. If that's the case, wouldn't bots be unnecessary?

Another one? Okay then. I'll voice my support. Maybe this one won't get closed.

Bots please Bioware, if you can make it happen anyway. You already have squadmate AI's just modify them to be class AI's.

The devs said it was super hard.

who really wants to play multiplayer solo on easy or normal? wouldn't it be better to be able to have the choice to solo or have 3 bots help you? I know i want to be challenged and when hype dies off i want to be able to work my way through insanity if its an option in multiplayer and not be hindered by not being able to find 3 people every time.

I think this is a great idea! Not all your friends can always be on and this could help fill the gap.

While I respect your idea, I don't think it would fit in a Mass Effect game. Maybe for a spin-off?

No bots. There's an entire single-player campaign for the antisocials to play. No need to go catering the multiplayer aspect to them as well.

I want bots to fill the squad (Like Gears, Left 4 Dead or SW: Battlefront) I don't care if we can play alone with them, as long as we have more than one guy in the team, I'll be happy.
Have you tried playing alone on Horde mode of Gears 2-3 and Firefight of Halo?
It's almost impossible to win!

they wouldn't be doing anything except adding the ability of having bots, how does that become catering to us antisocials?

Might as well. I hate how Halo doesn't have bots despite the whole story mode and firefight having bots everywhere. Oh well at least COD finally gave us bots.

bots for co-op wouldn't fit in a ME game? have you played the 2 previous games? your squadmates are not IRL people.

Bump for great Justice

OP brings up very valid argument with the game longevity and co-op multiplayer.
Why wouldn't you want these so you can always play the full content wether it be with people, bots, or solo?

It seems like a reasonable enough request. Gives people more options when it comes to MP and it doesn't take away from much of anything SP or MP.

K, Ricinator, i wouldn't mind bots, but i also wouldn't mind solo'ing against endless waves like the Arrival DLC, Object Rho part. Maybe a separate option for what people prefer solo/bots/multiplayer?

Wouldn't it be better to just use bsn to find people to fill the empty spots? Like how they do in other forums for games that have mp?

what i am suggesting is to just have an option in the lobby to add a couple bots to your game if you want them.
you should be able to mix and match players and bots. example being 3people 1 bot ect.

I support this idea. :)

I hate solo missions and I don't like playing with other people so bots for multiplayer would be ideal. It can be like Left 4 Dead single player.

If you want to play missions with AI companions, you can play the SP campaign. If you want to play missions with either solo, or other people, you can do the co-op missions.
If you are so concerned about how hard it will be to do co-op solo, drop the difficulty to casual.
By asking for bots, not only are you effectively asking for extra SP missions, but you are also asking them to redo the squqadmate AI so it can effectively make use of 3 bots, rather than 2. More coding time would be. Required, as well as bug testing, and this would take up valuable time that could be used to make sure the co-op missions are truly balanced.
Montreal ahs enough to do getting co-op ready without having to start to fiddle around with SP components as well.

they only need to make class ai where you would pick which type of bot (vanguard or whatever) and that ai would work like any other vanguard ai... and you wouldn't have to use them they would be optional where the host decides if you want any or 1,2,3. just an option for those of us who will play this game for 4+ years and want to be able to multiplayer longer than 6 months-1 year when it starts to drop off

Playing co-op is also entirely optional, as you can get the exact same outcome playing solo as you can playing co-op. If you want to use AI controlled bots for those missions, play it in the SP campaign.
Making a specific class AI would be even more difficult than making current sqaudmate AI, especially with the infamous "cant get a lock" charge bug.
You also apparantly failed to notice the key reason why they shouldnt.. Here, let me repeat myself, even though I hate doing it.

To put it simply, if you want AI, play SP. If you want to play solo, or with other people, play MP. Thus far, you have not given any rational reasoning as to why they should spend the time and effort implementing SP-based AI into teh MP mode, except to give you extra SP missions.

Personally my connection is rather spotty most of the day for playing internet games (live out in the sticks), but I'd still like to be able to play everything the game has to offer if possible.

If Bioware can include bots I'd be grateful. I hope they decide that it's worth the effort.

last time i checked my ideas are pretty reasonable and rational. they do AI for campaign so why can't they add the option for co-op for those how would want to be able to continue the trilogy over and over?

sure MP is for people but why can't you have both or even mixed co-op games? <------gimme a good reason other than, Meh its MP for a reason.
