The council turns out to be worthless. Oh wait that already has happened.............. Perhaps the twist could be they actually do something in the third game.

Captain Kirk makes a slingshot travel to the past and defeats the reapers with whale songs. However, he finds Shepard and the meeting between the two Mary Sues creates a black hole that sucks Earth down an wormhole into Ming's territory. ME4 is about the war between Ming's armies and the Alliance. You first read it here.

My guess is that fighting the Reapers over the course of the last tow games, and being around Reaper-tech so much is starting to mess with Shepard's head. Would be interesting to watch if he/she thought that he/she was getting the first twinges of Indoctrination.

The Big Twist is that The Illusive Man is Shepard's father.

If Shep hasn't been indoctrinated yet, probably never will be.

(This is the same person of who has survived all that contact with Prothean beacons dumping data into their head.)

Prothean data is not indoctrination... And Shepard has never been in prolonged exposure to Reaper tech, just here and there so no, he wouldnt be fully indoctrinated, just starting to feel some slight side-effects...

I still say that a strong enough mind can resist.

The vision Shepard has from ME1 after discovering a prothean floating ball where he dreams of being a caveman going hunting and being kidnapped by aliens is in fact an ancestor of his who got impregnated by aliens, who actually were the protheans spying on us from Mars, and prepared the rise of a hero to fight the Reapers. And thus, Shepard was born with the ability to withstand prothean mind probing and ass kicking left and right.

1: EDi is actually GLaDOS
2: When the Illusive Man rebuilt Shepard, he implanted some Reaper tech into him.

Interesting.  Might happen except the origin of the term Mary Sue precludes Kirk from being one... and Shepard fits even less.

Chris, of all the times you could be straight with the community, don't let this be one.

Seriously, we need a twist. Nothing cheap, but something cool and really unexpected. In fact, I think you guys are hiding something. Hiding it within the confines of Legion's databanks.

I know what happens. Reapers turn out to really just be spaceships, piloted by Xenomorphs.

Yes.

Shepard challenges the Reapers to an old 20th century game for the fate of the galaxy known as...

Bop-it Extreme!

For sure some big twists and turns in the final showdown with the Reapers.

Shep really died hunting down more geth after he saved the citadel. The shep that wakes up on the table never was human he's a new man/machine construct that was given shep's grey box so he thinks he is shep and sense everyone else believes him to be shep to this fake shep will be used to undermind galactic survival by thinking he's doing everything to stop reapers like blow up their base, blow up the relay, ect but what is actually occurring is he's wiping out all the potential tech the galaxy could be using to save itself all while keeping tabs on how the defenses of each world is going.

I have a feeling it will be something that no one here has even thought of, yet it is so simple and makes so much sense that we will be smacking ourselves in the head asking why we didn't think of it, lol.

The council was behind it all the time.

If they died in ME1, that was just a plan gone horribly wrong. Maybe they can visit Cerberus, they seem to have a talent messing up projects and creating even greater evils in the process.

In all seriousness. I believe a Dev said a long time ago there would be a plot twist the size of "No... I am your father". I doubt the twist could be THAT big but I'm anxious to see what it really is.

I remember reading somewhere that Jennifer Hale said their is something huge in regards to Shepard's identity, and who exactly Shep is, that's kind of mindblowing.  I'm hoping she didn't read into her lines wrong and my mind gets blown.  You could see the Revan reveal coming in Kotor, but man it still blew my mind with how well it was handled.

I did not see that coming at all. Then again I wasn't paying that much attention it seems. Since I didn't get into ME1 until ME2 was already out, I missed the entire ME2 marketing - and all the spoilers -  Guess how I sat in my chair when Archangel removed his helmet.

I can't remember Hale saying something like that. I just hope it doesn't ruin the entire series and actually makes sense. Something like 'Protheans invented tech to send one of their people's spirit into the future, to be reborn as another species in time and destined to forever stop the Reapers' would not fall well with me....

How was anyone legitemately surprised about Garrus being Archangel? I played the first game for a good total of 4 hours before I played the second and I realised it the second they said it was a turian. I wasn't even like "Oh, well I better get this turian on my squad. Hm, his armor looks familiar" No, I just read the dossier and said "Yea, that's Garrus"

I love the game, but if you people are honestly surprised by any of the twists that happen, then just...just wow

shep is the first reaper/human conversion using the same tech as used on the protheans to repurpose them as reaper slaves. the twist is that at the right time/plotpoint/plothole in me3, the reapers will try to take control of shep - forcing shep into a massive battle just to survive while the reapers pick off his comrades by using sleeper agents placed on the normandy. shep is the only member of the normandy crew not assimilated, forcing shep to abandon the normandy as it is taken and reaperised.  Edi becoming the reaper ships mind.

nah...

OK lets assume the Reapers are like a computer program that has been running for millenia.

What if they are searching for that final key line of genetic code to finish their programming before assending into something much greater and much more of a threat than they already are?  What if Shep is that final line of genetic information?  What if he was 'cloned & engineered' by the rogue protheans to complete the Reapers programming?

Thats why TIM insisted the memories of the clone were sheps memories and his clone was as exact a replica of the real shep as possible.

Maybe we were all duped and the shep clone put us in exactly the place the reapers wanted us?

What if the creature in the stasis bubble on mars is the real sheperd?
