There should be since in the last act of a trilogy, the past always comes back to bite you in the ass, which pretty much means that what we knew about the past might not have been the truth.

That there are male Asari and we cannot see them and are not mentioned in the codex or by anyone else as they were banished by female asari, because females went feminist

Okay here's my quick twist-list (may contain twists that have been mentioned a thousand times before):

1. Shepard is a prothean or has prothean ancestors
2. Shepard is a robot
3. Shepard is a clone
4. Shepard is a former reaper in human form or a reaper creation
5. Shepard is indoctrinated
6. another important NPC is one of the above (of course "Legion is a robot" wouldn't be a twist)
7. humans are a prothean creation
8. humans are a reaper creation
9. reapers are a human creation (may involve temporal anomalies)
10. TIM is Shepard's father
11. over the past millions of years the reapers have been defending the galaxy against an even greater threat
12. element zero is a reaper creation and won't work anymore if the reapers are dead
13. Sovereign lives (backup copy?)
14. Sovereign lives and has become a reaper rebel
15. Saren lives (the one you killed was a cyborg/clone)
16. protheans still exist
17. protheans still exist and are an even greater threat than the reapers
18. Shepard is still on eden prime living through the vision and the two games are just part of that
19. Earth is a giant reaper
20. random squadmate 1 is random squadmates 2 (half-)sibling
21. volus are anorexic in nature

Inconcievable? Maybe. Totally absurd? Of course!

so has everyone forgot about this planet description
"Klencory is a rock and ice planet with an atmosphere composed of chlorine and argon. The frozen surface is mainly composed of potassium with deposits of iron.

Klencory is famously claimed by the eccentric volus billionaire Kumun Shol. He claims that a vision of a higher being told him to seek on Klencory the 'lost crypts of beings of light.' These entities were supposedly created at the dawn of time to protect organic life from synthetic 'machine devils.'

Shol has been excavating on Klencory's toxic surface for two decades, at great expense. No government has valued the world enough to evict his small army of mercenaries. "

seems kinda obvious this will play some part.... i mean "machine devils" they have to be the reapers. i'm guessing it'll be some weapon technology that can help and maybe some answer's to the origins to the reapers.

some of these points are very probable
but i dont think protheans would like to wipe out everything in the milky way except reapers.

I think that Shepard is going to end up being a clone he probably has Reaper Tech in him and I think that in Mass Effect 3 we will find out We are not the real Shepard who died during the Collector Attack but instead a very impressive construct combining Man & Machine.

I also think Shepard is going to be Indoctrinated like Saren and Grayson was I could see Shepard turning on his companions because of the Reaper Tech inside him.

All are totally absurd, and all are inconceivable for a story that is to be taken even a little seriously.

And all just possible enough in ME3 to be reasons I won't be buying the game until I can read over an ME3 wiki.  And yes, that means I'd rather have the game "spoiled" than spend even a penny on a game with that kind of cliched hackish crap in it.

I'm sorry if the list came across as a serious proposal. In fact, I don't like it either. :D
If one of these things was in the game, I'd go to Edmonton myself, shake the responsible writer and scream "Are you mad??! MAD???!"
And if there's time: falcon punch.

Given that the Collector's had their hands in a number of events in Mass Effect 2 (and other sources i.e. Okeer's technology, Vorcha, etc.) I wouldn't put it past Cerberus to have at least on one occasion either asked for Collector tech or found some other means to bring Shepard back via the Lazarus Project, though I'm positive it had to have been accomplished with some form of Reaper Tech (after all they did take parts of Sovereign).

I'd imagine that Shepard is going to go through something similar that Grayson did in the books. He still has the Prothean beacons in his mind, added with Reaper technology (possibly). Shepard could go loco.

If Shep has even a moment of being taken over by Reaper tech in ME3, I'm skipping the game.

I've never read the books but I do know grayson was used to be a reaper/human hybrid thing similar to how David comboed with the AI to form well...a hybrid shep is now man and machine like Saren exactly what reapers need to control even the husks are species + reaper nanos.

Someone on my form about the Lproject (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/7730998)  suggested a really good scenerio on just how shep got brought back. They suggested that TIM linked sheps corpse upto the same beacon he ran into back in the books that particular beacon aided in shep being brought back but shep has to belive he is himself, alive, and human in order to maintain his humanity and not have the husk program override him. It was a very good suggestion I really hope BW uses my form to help write out a detailed data cache on the Lproject so we can all get our questions even partially answered.

I personally think shep is either a cylon/reaper agent or TIM brought him back with the full intention of making shep bait for the reapers so they would hack him and use them but then TIM would turn on the chip he did implant into shep and have shep undermind them so he could win the reaper war and make humanity truly #1. I do think TIM lied to Miranda had Wilson put the chip in anyway so shep would have no knowledge of said device and ergo the reapers wouldn't either.

The chip doesn't even need to be in the brain it cold be hidden along with all the other tech onto the spinal cord or at the brain stem all scans will ever see is more tech anyway so no one would know its actual purpose. We do know shep is now weak to hacking I really hope they exploit this in 3 and give shep some freaking character development this time around.

I think the more likely to happen would be:

The Lazarus project was designed to create a human Reaper CPU. Shep is it.

The asari are hiding a terrible secret regarding their true purpose.

The 'Real' Shep is in the Stasis

The collectors were trying to help Shep.

I really don't think any of the others would occur and to note I'd hate if if the collectors or the reapers just wanted to help the galaxy/shep, if Shep was in stasis and we were playing the fake or were only in a dream till we were let out of said stasis, and I'd really really hate if we got a living prothean as our new encyclopedia or squadmate.
