I have a shortcut to the nwmain on my desktop, via which I always enter the game. It works properly. But the moment I try and add the line +connect game.arelith.com:5124 it tells me it's an invalid address and doesn't let me approve. It
s not that it doesn't find the IP. It's that the moment I try and save it, it doesn't allow and I'm stuck. It loosk like this, including the brackets:

"C:\\Program Files\\GOG.com\\Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition\\nwmain.exe +connect arelith.servegame.org:5124"

Because the proper direct connect address to Arelith is - game.arelith.com:5123

It still says it's invalid. It's the the IP address that's the problem, but apparently just adding anything to Target box.

It's because of GOG.com. No periods are allowed in the path.

But I enter the game through that link normally (without the +connect option, just enter the game, to the main screen).
Should I reinstall it to some new address?

Guess it's because the +connect changes how Windows looks at the path, expecting periods AFTER the +connect line and not before. Figure that's why it works without the +connect in it allow you to just load the game.

If reinstalling is just so you can install it to a path without periods so you can direct connect to some PW, I say it's not worth the hassle.

You can direct connect through gamespy once it's loaded.

Click the Direct Connect button.

Enter - game.arelith.com:5123

Click OK

The thing is, I tried making the windows shortcut because Gamespy kept hiding the servers from me. But you were right - I reinstalled it to a normal address, and now managed to shortcut at windows. The problem is that it still doesn't find the server. Even with the address you give.

I had no problem testing the direct connect shortcut using the address I provided, and was able to get to Arelith this way.

May I suggest you try connecting to another server and see if you're able to get in.

It works. I tried Ravenloft, and it found it. But Ravenloft also appeared in my Gamespy list, so it wasn't too surprising.

Then my other guess is that Arelith has too high of a ping for you to be able to see and even connect to and continues to appear offline or unable to connect to.

That can happen...? I didn't know. We usually have 3 laptops open with internet, and maybe my brother is downloading movies. I'll try to shut them down.

I don't know if it can happen. It's just a guess because I don't know why you can connect to Ravenloft but are unable to see or connect to Arelith. It's the only thing I could think of.
