And what's the problem with Cammen? Sure, he's ugly. But just take a walk around the block and count the ugly people you see. Is there a rule that every NPC in a game has to be pretty? Is Cammen supposed to be pretty? I guess he's not, and neither is Slim Couldry, or Goldanna, or what have you.

Cammen is the worse case, and I'm not saying he has to be pretty. My point is there was just as enough ugly characters, if not more in DAO then in DA2. Besides no one cares for Cammen so he's an easy target.:innocent:

After DA2 I'm not going to get excited by teasers, we all saw how they can be pretty much all bull.

That said, I'll wait for the user reviews and I really hope they can make a great game

I don't think everyone in Dragon Age 2 had a bloated face. Thrask's daughter Olivia comes to mind.

You were determined to hate the changes from the start, while they're hardly as bad as you make them out to be. A number of characters came out looking better than they did in Origins; like Leliana, Taegan, Cullen, Nathaniel, Merrill and Isabela.

I expected changes for the better in terms of the visuals. Yeah, I think Cullen looks better. But Isabela is just a wholesale change, as is Merrill so there isn't much basis for comparison.  Leliana looks ok, but I prefer her Origins look- same goes with Nathaniel or Teagan or Anders. Art is subjective as are how the different versions of the characters look, but at the very least I expected the technical merits of the graphics and faces to be improved. I don't think they were improved. The lighting and flat textures on the faces makes them look terrible when in certain lighting and Botoxed in most other cases. I think that in many respects they look worse than Origins after having played DA2. Its not as if I haven't played it and hated it from the start. I gave the damn thing a chance- thats why I bought it. I'm not masochistic enough to buy a game I think I'll hate. Its after having played it that I hate it, based on my time with it and seeing how well other games have been able to render convincing faces.

When BioWare said they were working on improving the visuals for DA2, to make them "super hot" I thought they'd actually make the graphics look significantly better. Instead they only changed the art style and needlessly changed the face morph system such that it doesn't work with what they established in Origins. 


If BioWare pulled out some Frostbite 2 level of technical prowess on improving the fidelity of the character faces/lighting then I'd be impressed:


But after having played DA2, I think it looked like rubbish more often than not, on a technical and artistic level, especially compared to other AAA games out there.
