If this game has fun co-op like Champions or Dark Alliance, I'm in.

I know it's a month-old thread, but I thought it would be better to post here than opening a new one.
The siege of Nordibad is impossible...those trolls, olog-hai or whatever...how can I kill them?
They just rush to the gate and BAM, I'm dead in less than a minute. Any tips, please?

Got the game and I am loving it, then again I am a Tolkien fan so I am biased. Game is challenging but that's good so I don't finish it so early. Loving the co-op, IF Mass Effect 3 co-op is like this then I will enjoy it. Shame you can't create a character, would prefer playing a male elf mage.

Lord Valandil, you on the part where you got to protect the main entrance? I did with two other players. Attack the trolls first, you will occasionally get attacked by those mountain men people. Tribesmen?

I remember someone complaining that the game is challenging. I love the challenge.

I love challenges, but those trolls were pretty lame. Overpowered enemies =/= challenging game.

Trolls? They are not the problem, the problem is the Uruk-Hai, or the big ork ones with the massive cleavers. The game just chucks hundred of them at you but it's good because it makes you work together, co-op is a strong point for this game.

It looks kind of cool but it sounds like the role playing aspect won't be too deep, still though it should have fun gameplay and storyline. Also co-op.

Storyline is ok, certainly not the best. It isn't that violent either. RPG include levelling up an choosing which skill path to go, 3 categories with 6 abilities per category you can choose from, each ability can be upgraded 3 times. Armour and weapons get better in shops as you level up, you can upgrade your weapons with elf stones with different abilities. You can also change you characters appearance in mirrors. And yes Skittlescat, co-op is in and it is very fun, I suggest you buy it.

Oh and I was surprised about this but there are side quests as well which you can do with two other players, you can improve your health, strength, dexterity and damage output for your ranged weapons.

Being an RPG, you can return to previous locations and even take on the challenge maps to farm EXP and loot. So if the trolls are still causing you problems, simply go elsewhere, find more powerful gear and then return. I've done the Challenge maps earlier on and thus most of the enemies I'm encountering in the missions aren't the hardest to beat anymore. I have no problems with the trolls of the giant uruk hais either. I actually have a special ability that I can use to knock them down.
I've realized that you should only use your abilities when in tricky situations.
Honestly, I cannot believe that some people have given this game negative reviews. I'm not calling the game perfect because no game is but I agree with the reviews that praise the game. Dragon Age 2 was recieved well by the press despite containing too much repetive unrealistic bloody combat with exploding chunks, recycled areas, lucklaster story and choices not really having much effect. Yet some of the same press criticise WITN despite the fact that areas are not recycled, contain atmosphere, feel alive and have lots to find. The combat is more realistic (limbs fly instead of exploding bodies), more responsive and more tactical. The dialogue is pretty good and so is the loot and leveling aspects of the game. I found DA2 to be average. This game is far better than DA2 and so many more games currently on the market. I cannot believe that some press believe otherwise.
It's stuff like this which point to bribery. The press are eager to mention the few bugs and glitches in this game but when it comes to Skyrim, they kiss its ass and ignore mentioning the game killing bugs and glitches. I've only seen four reviews on gaming sites which mention them.
That's the gaming industry for you. Games like WITN which are made by little companies don't get the recognition that they deserve. Meanwhile, COD and MW come out every year being praised and highly esteemed each time.
This is one of this year's greatest games in my opinion. The music composed by Inon Zur is fitting. There's not one track in this game that I hate. The locations are atmospheric and lovely to explore. The locations really capture the feel of Middle Earth, I still remember reaching Sarn Ford for the first time and seeing flocks of birds flying in the distance as a beautiful peaceful melody played. The battles really feel like battles due to the sound effects and brutality and control and there's plenty of dialogue in the game. I've spent at least 2 hours in Rivendell speaking to people. When you first reach there, everyone has a lot to say and there's a lot of refrences from the books. It's refreshing to finally play a LOTR game that doesn't just contain stuff from the movies.
I don't know. Maybe I'm just seeing something others aren't. I can say with certainly though that this game doesn't deserve any score below 7. I'd give it a 10 just for the fun that I've having right now with it and I've yet to encounter any flaws. Though I believe it deserves a 9 simply because it could have added a few more features such as the ability to customize AI companions. The game could also have been a bit non-linear like Dragon Age: Origins was. Once you get to Rivendell, your quest becomes clear and that's to defeat any threat arising in the North. The game could have given the player the choice to chose which regions they go to first. This means that each time you start a NG+, there's some variety in where the story is headed.
