Huh this is a first, the installer should install especially if you are getting the progress bar, music, and screenshot during install. Based on the info you have provided, which is basically none, I have no idea what the problem could be other than check you user privileges in your OS and make sure you have the ability to install programs?...Basically this shouldn't happen and the installer should install something when directed to especially if you are trying the separate folder option. I highly recommend following the readme, that's why it's there.

hello again..it seems i had 1 of the files put in a other folder for some strange reason...strange that it did install tho..anyway i have installed it now..
also i have put it in the MassEffect folder..

I posted about the main menu blur on the armours but I just saw the explanation for it in the OP. I hope ME3Explorer gets a fix some day, the main menu image would make for a good wallpaper.

Me too! That fix would fix all problems with low lod issues in the mod, including allowing me to use mip maps on textures I currently cannot. Unfortunately it looks to be a complicated problem after talking to the ME3Explorer developers, no one has been able to address it yet :/
In the mean time you can use Texmod for the N7 armors if want a good screenshot in the character create menu.

You've done a great work with this mod. Congrats !
I've got just one problem : many microstutters (60 fps -> 40-50 fps) when I run your mod. Graphic changes do not impact those stutters. Same thing when I run with 30 fps. I use win8.1 which I suspect to be the cause of this problem. My setting : i7, 16Go, SLI 970.
The same problem appears with my old SLI GTX 770.

I think the mod may just be stressing the ol'ME1 engine to it's limits. It depends on how sensitive you are to micro-stutter. I haven't experienced any game freezing stutter, just tiny hitches most likely as the textures load. I was able to minimize it by setting poolsize=2048Performance has never been ME1's strong suit especially when it first came out, but I know there are just about zero stutters on today's hardware with the vanilla game, and I get slight stutter on my rig with the mod mainly on the Citadel. Through most of the game however, I honestly didn't notice any, but people may be more sensitive or there may be an issue I am not having. I will do some more testing and see if I can find any settings that may help.
Must be extremely frustrating to work on such an old engine.
I have no idea how they made ME2 perform so much better while looking so much better. What is this magic?
Also any news on the Citadel backround? Skyboxes hype?

Game crashes are due to the mod not being setup correctly and uninstall, as warned in the installer, must be done with either a a backup of your files, uninstalling the game, or restoring file integrity with Origin/Steam.
Something tells me your issues with the mods are closely related to the fact that you don't read instructions, sorry to be so blunt but it gets very tiring hearing people complain when they don't bother to read instructions I spent a ton of time writing up.
And asking how to uninstall is the ultimate passive aggressive way to complain, because if you own a computer you know how to uninstall programs. It's simply a way to say this mod makes me so unhappy I need to let you know I am deleting it. Well good for you.
Gawd the internet is becoming so negative full of entitlement, please excuse me for my rant, and I apologize if I offend. I am just venting as I have seen this type of comment too many times in too many forums for too many FREE things that people work really hard on.

As for stutter I am not sure the direct cause, I don't have enough to effect game play, in fact I have to try really hard to see it and I can only notice it on the Citadel, so it may be related to what software people have running in the background, of course system specs, and possibly version of Windows? Too many possibilities to know for sure. But I can tell you the performance is 400x better than when this was using TexMod so I have always been grateful since the switch.

Two things, I made a back up of the files like you mentioned but I have the steam version of the game, so I can just use the "verify integrity of game cache" button to restore the game to its original state, right?
And second I don't know if this was mentioned but I thought it might be important to other steam users who want to use the mod. Basically if one launched mass effect before installing the mod, it will render the shortcut from the steam icon tray for the game useless; I mean you can launch mass effect but it will always crash. I just use the library launch to solve the problem and I suspect that if I create desktop shortcut after installing the mod it should work, I haven't tried though.
Maybe you should add this to the faq or the OP, but it's your call and your mod; I just thought you should know man.

Verifying integrity of game cache will restore everything, yes
And no way this mod actually touched the executable.. Check your icon... It should link to steam://rungameid/17460

Same issue here. Maybe to do with ModDB forcing you to download files from Gamefront unless you login. I've signed in now and am re-downloading part3 to see if it matches the previous files.

Making use of this mod myself for a very first time ever playthrough of the game. If I had any question's it might be if there is any real difference when using the mod with an Origin installed version of ME? Generally, I keep the film grain on and no motion blur, as I understand the new film grain you placed is the one that will be implemented by that setting. Everything is maxxed otherwise (i5-3570k OC'd to 4.2 GHz, Radeon HD 7870 2GPU, 16GB corsair platinum) but I wonder if using the MassEffectConfig.exe to change values outside game can cause any problems. An interesting oddity: via the MassEffectConfig.exe (outside of game) the correct resolution I aim for (1920x1200, 16:10) is displayed, but in game it shows as 1920x1080, and is the 2nd one (meaning, there's an unhighlighted '1920x1080, 16:9' and a highlighted/selected '1920x1080, 16:9'.
Only other thing is that I've had a weird case where the shadow play around Dr Chakwa face made her nostril look like it was expanding,
, but I can let that kind of thing go so long as it doesn't take over everything. Do you recommend order of events as
- Download, Install Game
- Verify & Repair Game (this is Origin, I'm paranoid)
- Update Game (where needed and just in case)
- Configure Game settings via MassEffectConfig.exe but do not launch
- Reset the Shadow cache ... dealio

- Make the ini changes
- Install M.E.U.I.T.M.
- (required?) Install the 'No Brows Fix'
- Launch and play to your hearts content
That's what my current line of reasoning is. Sorry, rambling while I watch my backup copy of the Nexus download go through. I need a faster internet connection. Of course, I'm in the US, so, we all do.

Well, I don't have a question or problem. I actually came to say that I finished a playthrough with the latest version of this mod, and everything worked spectacularly!
I love what you've done here and I'm glad that you fixed the Rachni issues. While I had a few crashes, it didn't take long to figure out that it was due to user error.
Keep it up, Catechrism. I can't wait to see what you have in store for the next release.

Kind of a follow up to my original post in regards MEUITM and some odd 'shadow play' I experienced. First, let me say it came down to me being kinda dumb. On the page of instructions for the 'how to' with BioEngine.ini tweaks in regards Dynamic Shadow Fix, it talks about adjusting the following lines:
DepthBias=0.030000 or(0.012 if you restored to pre-official 1.2 patch values)
MinShadowResolution=32
MaxShadowResolution=512
ShadowFilterQualityBias=0
I found out through some troubleshooting that there's two banks of text, one for [Engine.Engine] and one for [Engine.GameEngine] and that was where my issue was likely coming from. First, some of the entries existed twice and character for character as listed, in each bank. However, DepthBias existed twice, but with two vaguely different values. One, under [Engine.Engine] was listed as "DepthBias=.03" while the one under [Engine.GameEngine] was listed as "DepthBias=0.030000" and on my initial attempt, I had modified the wrong one, as well as not having changed the other shadow entries in both banks. This time around, I only changed the one under [Engine.GameEngine] and left the other entry alone. And what do you know? Freaking beautiful on load, everything looks spectacular. I'm still uncertain on whether or not there's a need for the "Bo Brows Fix for Female NPCs" but I'll figure it out, backs of giants and all that
Lastly, just want to give a huge thank you to Catechrism as his textures and lighting and all of it are really stunningly beautiful, it really caught my eye as someone that had never played Mass Effect before but was getting into the idea of giving the Trilogy a try.

I think it's about time for some kind of update:
Here is Tali heavy WIP. I am working on her pattern still missing a few lines I wan't to make a re-usable pattern for use in not only textures but fan art etc...
Also obviously I am experimenting with face visibility. This is heavily influenced by Getorex's mod for ME3 that makes Tali's face visible, I really like what he has done. The approach I had to take is very limited due to the current limits in modding ME1 it had to be totally texture based. Surprisingly though I think the look is pretty close.
Let me know what you think and I can clean up and release. It will be an optional download because I know there are Tali purists out there. That said, the face is based off of her in game photo in ME3.

@ Catechrism, RE: Tali, WIP: Looks good Catechrism, though I will also say I have a mixed feel on it. Understand that I have quite literally JUST started this game about a month or less ago, and I've gotten kind of used to having that 'fog' effect that makes the quarian feature's very blurred and hard to spot. I notice especially that her eyes are far more ... They're far more noticeable, I guess. Personally, I'll probably download it and keep it in reserve until I've gotten my major playthroughs out of the way (I've only gotten about half of the achievements done)
SIDE COMMENT: BTW, it's very amusing to run into those character's that haven't received the MEUITM treatment. I was running through the 'Hostage' assignment, rescuing Chairman Burns, and I swear, it reminded me of that 'Simpsons' episode where Homer is projected into the real world. He just looked SOOO out of place.
Goes to show how much of the game has received the touch up's that it's the extremely rare moments like that.
