Just found this and wanted to chime in and say it is a great mod and a hell good of a job. I do have a minor text glitch here and there, as well as some graphical minor glitch too, but the textures are more than worth it.

Let us know if you have any crashes, we're still trying to find the source and aren't sure if its specific to my machines.

Haha amazing. I tried what you told me with the tpfextract, game still looks beautiful and it doesn't take as much to load, seems that there's less FPS drops as well. Outstanding work. I'll definitely use your mod for Mass Effect 2 when I finish with Mass Effect 1. Thanks a lot.

I have started a new career, and I have finished with Eden Prime. So far, I have not encountered any glitches.

Thanks though my ME2 mod is pretty weak jeanluc has the best stuff for ME2 but my scientists elcor and wrex textures are the only ones for those characters so I recommend those. I also have links to other ME2 mods on the first page here

Yea, but you have the glitchfree method to use Jeanluc's mod

Just had another crash, but I wonder if it'll make a difference if I set Texmod to run as Admin?

A few ideas. I've heard that setting compatibility mode to XP SP3, and also to change the software/hardware audio setting. Also Nvidia released new drivers today so yea. Still thinking there might be a Memory Leak though.

I am starting a new game now I will monitor memory usage and see when/if it crashes.

yep, I am currently at just over 3 gigs usage and slowly climbing...
I gues this mode isn't completely glitch free.

I'm going to try one more run with alternative mode checked

Nope crash again at ~3.8 gigs it's definitely memory related

have you tested with dds files? perhaps its only with the way texmod loads bmp?

Posté 22 février 2012 - 01:09
I was just experimenting with that idea actually the files are smaller too so it might help. I thought I saw some small quality loss though :/ when I converted with gimp. I am looking for a converter that can convert multiple files at once so I don't have to do it manually for all 300+ textures.

LOL another crash, Luckily I had quicksaved like 30 seconds earlier. Have you noticed Mass Effect is still running in task manager even after it crashes?

I'm using the origin version of Mass Effect and the package build for TexMod works. I'm trying the new logging method but TexMod gives me the D'OH message. I followed the instructions on the main page and nothing is working. Please Help....

You might want to stick with the Package mode for now, we are still trying to figure out a memory leak with logging mode, the game crashes randomly as soon as it reaches 3.8gb of RAM which can take as little as 15 mins...

I'm currently using this mod on the Steam Version and the only problem I've had I remember having in vanilla ME sometimes, which is that the game will sometimes speed up (especially on the Normady) and look a bit ridiculous.
I have made MassEffect.exe LAA aware and use TexMod to run the game WITHOUT doing the "steam fix" solution. I think using LAA to modify the executable negates the need to use the Steam fix.
