I think the issue was [for me] was how un-flattering the pink lipstick and freckles where on the skin, while it might not be the case for everyone else, I much just prefer the differing shades of blue on her LOTSB. If it were possible to get the proper color contrast, you might end up with something more amazing that what you've already done.

Wow, really impressed with where you're going with this... I do have to agree with DCopeland though, while ME1's Liara looks innocent, something about the freckles turned me off. They don't normally look bad to me, but brown freckles on blue skin was just clashing. And then add in the pink lips and it was just all sorts of terrible color matching. I'd prefer if her lips were closer to purple, maybe a royal blue, and not sure what color for the freckles.

Thanks, lol It looks like we still have the same ol' dilema ME1 Liara vs ME2 LOTSB Liara. For my pack I'm going to stick with the new texture but for you LOTSB fans I reccomend using JeanLuc's LOTSB texture and renaming it to work with ME1 because the level of detail in it is amazing and you'll have the dark look you like.

I'm having a rather strange problem with the pack that only seems to affect the female crew on the Normandy.

It seems like half of it just isn't right...
This is consistent too, not random like the black polygons that seem to only affect Tali and Shephard particularly badly. Any idea why?

Hmm this is a dilemma with the two liara skins, both look great... Anyway i was wondering if you could attempt a liara without eyebrows as an experiment... always bugged me that a species with no hair had eyebrow lines exactly like human ones. Itll probably look awful, but theres a chance itll make her more alien, which can only be a good thing, seeing as she's supposedly pureblood asari yet is uncannily human in everything but colour. Seems to me that aliens should be hard to understand, so even if she emotes less obviously with no eyebrows, chances are we'll adjust and she might even be more interesting.

A couple of suggestions/questions:

Are you in logging mode or package mode?
If you are in logging mode, use package mode because logging mode has a memory leak.

Make sure you applied the shadow tweak to the bioengine.ini I have listed in the mod description.

Is this the latest 022512 pack?

Did you in anyway modify the textures? I ask because I see this style error when a layer mask is missing from the texture.

I would like to get this sorted out for you :).

Yep download it from the link above and extract it with Tpf extract linked in my mod description and rename it to the ME 1 name and rebuild using package mode and load it up. :) Then do the same for ME2

I am in package mode.
I did apply the tweaks, but I will gladly recheck them.
This is the latest pack.
I have in no way modified the textures. Layer mask? Perhaps it was a corrupt downlaod then?

OK thank you I am dealing with someone on moddb with the same issue so you are not alone I will investigate when I get home from work. I will try to resolve this asap. in the meantime try turning dynamic shadows off see if that helps and it couldn't hurt to redownload.

Ok I've tested the problem with all of my files, it seems only the full pack does this and only the pack downloaded from Moddb (this is why I never saw the issue), so I am re-uploading now. Something must have gone wrong in the upload. Just in case I went through all of the textures and removed unnecessary transparencies from many normal maps that Gimp decided to add in. So you will see a slightly smaller file size. I have tested this pack and have seen no glitches hopefully you will have the same results.

Wasn't expecting a full 20MB less to download. Bad Gimp! BAD! Going to try this as soon as it finishes downloading.

I will try it out, unfortunately, my current save is midway through Noveria (bleh) so I can't comment on if it's fixed until I complete it.
Another possible issue, though not sure, is that the shadow looks hard. No other way to describe it, um, the texture sort of dithers? I mean, I think it looks better! But I'm not sure if it's supposed to be pixelly at the edges? This is hard to describe. But not that big of a problem.

I have tested the downloaded file from Moddb and for me, it's working everyone on the Normandy looks as they should :).

As far as shadows it's the best I could do, I tried a higher res but then it just tiles really bad and the edges of the shadows looked the same, so the graininess is part of the game engine using a texture for the shadow. If you take away the texture (meaning if I used a transparent texture) the shadows look awful very jagged and super low-res, stair casing everywhere. But I may play with is more anyway I'll update if I can come up with something better.

I noticed that the nvidia control panel has ambient occlusion available for Mass Effect, but I can't see any real difference. Has anyone else played around with this? You have to jump through a few hoops to get it to work with steam if you are using texmod since you have renamed masseffect.exe (force it on with Nvidia Inspector).

It works and kills performance for me in high quality mode, but it makes the shadows look almost perfect because it hides some fuzzies and shadows some areas more realisticly. If you use it in performance mode it looks decent I just became OCD about the aliasing around the edges of object that occurs when it's on.

To get it to work I use Nvidia Inspector to force it. To see if its working look at corners of rooms and nooks and crannies, like the neck areas of armor etc...

CDAMJC, can you tell what are the best mods for Mass Effect 2? I saw the links on the first page, but there are many to choose from. Any specifics on which one is better?
