Too right mate, cant wait for my copy to arrive so it can go on the shelf, be registered, download dlc and read manual, but im not playing it until i have a pc worthy of finishing my sheps story. At least that gives me time to really enjoy the first game, then ill just have to make sure i dont rush me2 when i start playing it on the new pc, as ill be desperate to jump into me3... but as exciting as me3 is, none of the games are really complete if you dont play the trilogy through properly.

Playing through ME3 has made me incredibly nostalgic to start a new Shepard's story and these mods are looking better than ever. Please, keep up the excellent work!

Yep, right now though it semi-crashes when you load too many textures like all of my individual files, or the full pack. It will let you into the game but it shows an error message and you can see some textures but not all :/. Also, all of the videos in Mass Effect including loading screens just show up green, but I am watching it closely. Hopefully, one day it will be fully compatible with Mass Effect,

Hi, the screenshots make this look amazing, though I haven't started it up yet without making the .ini changes you recommend. Where is this bioengine.ini folder? I can't find it anywhere in my Mass Effect directory, I run the disc version of the game.

Fantastic work on this, thanks!

hi there its me again. Enjoying your amazing texture work :D. I was prepared to grind through ME1 but with your mod its so much more enjoyable!

Kind of off topic but do you know any other mod for ME1 aside from yours? Skip start up time, add or remove stuff etc. I did stumbled upon one thread like that while looking for yours but could not find it again :(

On load I get an error for C++ that says this application (ME) has requested that it be terminated in an unusual way.

Sorry to be a bother, but any idea how to fix this?

No problem, apply the LAA patch to your MassEffect.exe linked here (first page) and on Moddb if it crashes on start up also be sure to tell any antivirus software you have to allow TexMod

SpellholdStudios: http://www.shsforums...ect-pc-modlist/ I think has the most for ME 1. The last post on page 2 might have what you are looking for I'll copy the link here:

http://www.masseffec...s.com/tools.php

But unfortunately there is not much else out there for Mass Effect 1 that I know of.

Great work! Eager to play through all of Mass Effect with it but am having some issues. I can play the opening of the game no problem, but once I get to Eden Prime I get a BSoD.

I had another character from a quickly abandoned playthrough that had a save on Eden Prime and that too will cause a blue-screen as soon as it loads the game.

Any advice? Windows 7 64-bit, only mod I'm using is the Full pack, and have the game's exe set to be LAA.

Hey there, I applied the LAA patch but nonetheless I get a Visual C++ Library runtime error upon every startup. Texmod is not blocked by my security tools.
Any ideas on how to fix this? :(

//edit

In case you need to now, I've got 4 Gig of Ram running on a x86 OS (so it's 3.5 Gig in reality).

I have saves on eden Prime and just tested, and I get no bluescreens, but that's my system. In my experience bluecreens are not so much software related and more hardware, are you overclocking anything like RAM CPU or GPU? I used to have this happen one time when my RAM was faulty and one other time when my power supply was on it's way out and I was doing some heavy overclocking. I would get bluecsreens when the system was stressed. Also how much RAM do you have, as it seems like the Full Pack is not friendly to 2 gigs or less :\\

Hmm last thing I can think of, maybe it should have been the first, would be to update C++ libraries and directX drivers for windows? I wish I could be more help but I've never gotten this error message. I'm going to read back over some old posts though and see if this has happened to and been resolved by anyone else.

Ah I see you have 32-bit windows, in that case I can only recommend you pick and choose from the individual files because the LAA patch only works with windows 64 bit and the full pack will push the executable to use too much RAM for 32-bit windows. I am sorry and I wish TexMod wasn't so resource heavy, it's the way in which it works loading the textures on top of the game where as with other non-TexMods you can insert the textures into the game. Oblivion or Skyrim for example are just much more mod friendly.

I will try to update them, thanks a lot. I should've mentioned I'm using your full package, so if the updates don't work I shall attempt to load the files one by one.

Nah, I don't bother overclocking anything with my system, and every other game I play has been running fine on the highest settings.  I have 4 gigs of memory as well, so I wouldn't think it would be that.

Appreciate the help.

Bummer, I thought I had a solution. I know Mass Effect was causing blue screens due to audio issues way back when, does the game crash without the mod running?

Nope, I had even gone and loaded up that other character's save so I could have some comparison screenshots, then was getting the blue screens with that save after I installed the mod. Started a new character and had no problems on the ship so I thought it was resolved, then I see the first cutscene of the Normandy buzzing over the planet and that was it.

I had a user with a similar problem a while back and they had to restore the bioengine.ini by deleting it and loading the game/allowing it to create a new one, that fixed their problems and then they went in to make only the ini changes mentioned in this thread and it worked for them. Another user just had steam verify the file integrity and it found errors and repaired them. They were getting crashes to the desktop though, not blue screen requiring a forced restart, but it's worth a shot. Try the mod with a vanilla Bioengine.ini if it works from there, then go back and make the changes listed in this thread. If that doesn't work have Steam check the files.

Update when I searched Mass effect 1 BSOD I found many times it's due to audio drivers, particularly creative cards like sound blaster etc...I'm not sure if this is helpful but the crashes are said to appear in certain places and at random as well which fit the symptoms to some degree.

Updated drivers and/or disabling audio hardware acceleration solves the problem.

Could the DLC cause problems with your mod?

It shouldn't make any difference.

Problem solved. I loaded file per file with Texmod (select, run, exit over and over again) and in the end it worked.
Good God. xD

Thanks for your help though, it was appreciated.
