I think you need to apply the LAA patch, the mod crashes with out it because masseffect can't use more than 2 gigs of ram. The LAA patch applied to the original Masseffect.exe fixes this. You can get it form the link posted in the mod description, and I have it hosted over at moddb under the download section of the mod.

ME with Texmod and Origin doesn't work. MassEffect.exe crashes even before it there are the intro videos.
I can't find anything about texmod with ME1 and origin on the internet so I guess it's working for most people.
Anyone an idea?

Thank you for the mods! There great though the break ups in the newer updated one and i just got a partial green screen when the Normandy was hitting the Mass Relay why is that happening? I love the new film grain, lighting scheme makes it way more darker and gives you such a better feel!

Dude your a legend...didnt see the LAA patch in OP, thanks allot. Its rare for developersto be so active...really appreciate your help mate!

lastly wha setting for filtering mode in game do you use; Linear, point, anisotropic etc? And do you use dynamic shadows and wait for verticle sync?

Thanks again, cant wait to give the series a go, and with amazing graphics too :D

anisotropic, and yes to the dynamic shadows...also apply the bioengine.ini tweaks listed here on the first page to get the best shadows and best normal maps. bioengine.ini is located in X:\\Users\\XXX\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect\\Config

Unfortunately windows 32-bit can't run the full pack.  This is because it is limited to 2 gigs per application (a mathematical limitation).  With the full pack and LAA applied, the application goes over 2 gigs. People with 32-bit windows have had luck with the individual files picking a choosing based on where they are in the game, or just choosing the iles they like most. I wish there was another solution, but so far I haven't come up with one.

Did you try the LAA patch? The mod crashes without it.

That sounds like the occsional TexMod glitchiness, it glitches once in a while.  Usually alt enter a few time clears up improperly loaded Textures.

i have some truble with steam and i'm using those steps for me1 :

1. Place TexMod in the Binaries folder.
2. Rename MassEffect.exe to anything you want. I use "~MassEffect.exe".
3. Rename Texmod.exe to MassEffect.exe
4. Launch Masseffect.exe (TexMod renamed) through Steam
5. Point TexMod to your original Masseffect.exe (now renamed)

I did that , lanch me by steam , texmod open , point it to v_masseffect.exe , steam lanch masseffect.exe which open texmod => infinite loop

Did i miss something ?

A few people have posted this problem and I have no clue what's missing, since I have the disc version of the game I'm not entirely sure, I know this method had worked for many, many people but maybe there is a step I missed in the tutorial or a setting in windows. It makes no sense to me how the renamed original MassEffect could send you to TexMod, yet this has happened to a few people. Any help from steam users who got it working would be greatly appreciated :)

This happened to me after i chose to run as administrator in Texmod and unchecked read only in masseffect.exe, after dissabling administrator access and checking read only again texmod stoped opening itself, dont know if this helps at all but it did for me :D

you mustn't run texmod as an admin, because he will load even ME as an admin, so it miss steam hook and fail to launch

Apply the LAA patch to the original Mass Effect executable its required to prevent crashing.

Ok so i restored to defaults in Bios, and played the game without mods for a while and it worked fine...so i played with the mods again, and lasted about 15mins then blue screen came up and had to do a hard reset, so my thinking is at certain points in the game this issue occurs, on the Feros level when getting in the veichle thing (makos?) it seems to be happening, so wondering if theres an issue with something there...dont see why i would be getting blue screens though and having to hard reset :S

I used laa , but now i get error msg runtime c++ error E/S , still crashing when it reaches the 1.7gb consumtion
If i get it right , i need to update my c++ library , but i'm looking for a link .
Is it the famous microsoft frameworks ?

I think that error happens with 32-bit windows, which can't handle the full pack due to the ram limitations, if you have 32-bit windows try picking and chhosing from the individual files, people have had better luck with that. the full pack just uses too much ram and pushes the app close to 2 gigs and then crash...C++ error.  So far I haven't found a solution for 32-bit windows. LAA works to prevent this in 64-bit windows but I'm hoping UMod will be better than TexMod in the future and need less RAM, right now it's not fully compatible with Mass Effect :/

If you have windows 64-bit try updating direct X and C++ like you mentioned. Also be sure not to run Mass effect as an administrator like metioned above and see if that helps.
