This mod is awesome. It make ME1 twice as enjoyable. And actually made me start the series again from the top.

But unfortunatly I've got the same problems as described on the previous page. Mostly interface textures show up wrong, fonts and the minimap and menu tabs and stuff. Is there a solution for this? I also posted a comment on Moddb on this issue with more details. I really hope there is a way to stop this mess because its really annoying when there is a face bumpmap in the back of your minimap.

The problem come from TexMod, not from the mod himself.

Alt tab or alt enter 2 times will force a re-render and remove the issues for a bit. Repeat when they come back.

Or you can just hit esc 2 times, that worked for me.

Great job with the mod by the way!

Thx for the information on this. Unfortunatly rerendering just leads to other parts of the interface shown up wrong mostly. But its only getting heavy after 1h of playing so I guess I just have to restart the game from time to time.

Anyway, has anyone problems with his shadows in ME1? I remember when I first played it the shadows were alright but when I now play they are all little spots instead of clean surfaces. I'm using the ini tweaks as shown on Moddb. May this have something to do with the texture mods? Of course I use anisotropic filtering, toggeled in game options and forced by Nvidia.

Thanks for your appreciation in the earlier post and I'm sorry TexMod is so glitchy but at least it allows us to mod the game :)

About the shadows, unfortunately that's as good as I could get it, I tried an even higher resolution texture for the shadow and a ton of different bioengine.ini configs but they all resulted in weird tiling effects, this was the best result. But just to see the difference load up the same scene you are seeing problems in without TexMod running and the shadow will be a lot worse. The shadows in the vanilla game were so bad the original Bioengine.ini settings after updating the game to version 1.2 didn't include dynamic shadows on the face because so many people complained about how bad it looked. So I know it's not perfect, but it's the engine, it's dated and shadows don't look as nice as in ME2 or ME3 :/

To revert back to Bioware's fix for the facial shadows (which was removing most of them) change the value of the shadow depth bias from 0.006 to 0.03. That should remove the face shadows like bioware did but maintain my higher-res shadows seen cast from bodies and on armor etc... It will look very clean on the faces but also in my opinion slightly less realistic, especially during dialogue scenes

I still have to do the other versions. Then I'll release it with the Garrus armor and Saren update.

Hello there,

Yes this issue has been reported and I've seen it, but as far as I knew and as people reported these were fixed in the updated packs from April which can be downloaded at moddb. If you are using the individual files I think it can be fixed by moving the armor higher up in the loading order in TexMod when you are selecting what mods to load. I think it has something do do with TexMod and its occasional glitches, it seems its picky about load order. Please give it a shot and let me know how it works for you.

Also I should have new files available for download this weekend hopefully. So if all else fails try the new files which I will upload fairly soon.

Well im using the FullPack042012 (Win 64-bit) thought i managed to fix the issue for a while till it reappeared for some reason after few hours of playing and ive been thinking to try the load order trick but haven't just bothered to go that far lol

Keep up the good work btw.

I'm having issues with Steam (like anyone else trying to use TexMod with ME1 on Steam). I was wondering if anybody knew of a fix. I did the ol' trick of renaming the Texmod executable to MassEffect.exe and renaming the original ME .exe, running it from steam, etc. but it just crashes whenever I try to load a game. I'd rather not have to purchase an entire other copy of the game to use these mods, but short of another alternative, these textures look good enough to warrant the trouble.

So, in short, anybody have a fix for running TexMod with the Steam version of Mass Effect 1?

TexMod on steam should work the way you have described above. The mod will crash if you are using all the files and you don't apply the LAA patch I have uploaded to Moddb here:

To rule this out try running the game as you mentioned above with no packages loaded if it still crashes, make sure your antivirus is set to allow TexMod as that can also cause crashes. i also have a tutorial over at moddb on how to get it running (steam included): http://www.moddb.com...tting-up-texmod

I hope this helps, if not let me know and we can troubleshoot more. Good luck
