That seems to have done the trick. I'll admit that my ability to tell the texture sets apart is somewhat lacking without a side-by-side comparison in the actual game, but the crashing has stopped due to the LAA patch and Wrex's face does look substantially more detailed.

In any case, thank you very much for your speedy assistance, and for this fantastic mod. I look forward to downloading new versions in the future.

I have some new side by sides up at moddb so you can get a better idea. Most changes are subtle but Garrus, Tali, the Volus, Wrex, Liara, and the light maps are pretty big changes. Thanks for your appreciation and I'm glad its working for you : )

CDAMJC!

Thanks for making these. Stepping back from ME3 to ME1 is quite an experience and this has made quite the difference.

One thing I am a bit confused by, how did you get FXAA working on this?

I've got the tool, I've copied the files (the contents of MYGAME as it extracts as) and dumped them in the ME1 Binaries folder.

Doing so, the game refuses to start, splash doesn't come up when clicking Run in Texmod. Removing the files lets the game run, so there is obviously something I am doing wrong when trying to apply this.

Thanks for any help!

I'm on Steam btw. Doesn't seem to like SMAA either...

Hmmm, check your antivirus and make sure FXAA TexMod and SMAA are all allowed. I never had an issue with FXAA, but I use the one I have linked on the moddb because I had heard the Skyrim version causes issues. Other than those two ideas which may not be applicable, it sounds like you have it setup correctly. Sometimes it can be a permissions issue with windows try running as administrator or not as an administrator which ever is opposite of what you are trying now. That has worked for some people. Also make sure you are not running d3doverider or anything similar to force v-sync as that will cause FXAA not to load.

I hope this helps, let me know how you make out, if its a no go I'll do some more research (google) on the issue.

Ok,

1) Try no antivirus
2) Try run as administrator

I'll have a go later and let you know what happens! There's no d3doverider in my setup as I tend to be a run from vanilla kind of guy! This is the first mod tinkering I've done since Oblivion came out on PC!

Got it working... although I didn't see any benefit really. Anything kind of jaggy remained so, while presing Pause just seemed to turn the bleaching filter on and off... oh well!

Tell a lie, I can tell shed loads of difference with the SSAA one!

Yeah I use FXAA for the sharpening, color pallet, and bleach effects. I hear smaa is boat loads better for the jaggies. Glad to hear you got it working :)

Hi, I run ME1 with Origins. I Have Win7 HomePremium 64bit but ME1 run only in 32bit. With google I just can find things like "ME1 doesn't start with 64bit". My Problem is: I can't run the 64bit textures with 32bit ME1, cause it "breaks" during the loading screen after savegame selection. With the Perfomance pack the game doesn't start.

You are right mass effect is 32 bit so to allow more ram usage you need to apply laa patch to the mass effect.exe I linked it in the mod description. This will stop the crashing

Great mod! Sadly I can't find any install instructions only some really bad ones on your first post. I urge you to clean it up, and remove the old instructions on TexMod if its useless. Update those line things in BioEngine.ini with more info. You say "Important: bioengine.ini tweak to fix many normal maps in the game with out requiring TexMod. Find the following 3 entries and change them to:" you tell us to find 3 lines, but you give us what they need to look like after. Also no location of the bioengine.ini (found it though), it's the same with dynamic shadow fix. And as a first timer on modding a ME game, I have no idea to place the Fullpack I downloaded.

So please, update your post a bit and clean it, and if there are some out there, could I get a link to instructions, or some made? I love the mod, however the info is bad :/

Wow I'm sorry I guess I really have neglected that first post and it was rather confusing :3. I have tutorials over at moddb, so I've linked them and updated the format a bit on the original post here. I think I've covered everything, please let me know if you need more help :)

Ok so I missed the weekend mark, but I did finish the medium female Onyx (N7) armor. So I just have to do the light armor and I want to quickly re-work the Mako with some new metal textures.

The new packs were just uploaded late last night and are being authorized by moddb it will probably be available today once they finish their virus and quality check. I can't use media fire because the file size is too large. Sorry about the wait, but it usually doesn't take Moddb too long to authorize.

very strange the mod causes the game to need ~3.5 gigs max so you should be all set. Is the LAA applied to MassEffect.exe in the binaries folder? Sometimes people mistakenly apply it to the mass effect launcher or texmod, which won't do any good. Other than that I have no clue why it would crash other than incompatible modding of the bioengine.ini.

Hey CDAMJC, i noticed you were able to swap ME2 Liara's head morph for ME1 Liara's. Have you found a way to do the same for ME3? I really wanna see Ash again, and not her plastic imposter.

Yeah I should be able to. However life has been crazy and I currently own it for 360 only (my girl friend's copy). I haven't had a chance to pick up the PC version yet so I can't log any textures yet. It should be a simple rename or I can make a new one.
