I love Your work CDAMJC.

Started playing ME1 a week ago with all the .ini-tweaks I could get my hands on and YOUR mod.
The game looks great and I still can't belive You spent so much time and energy into it.

I installed the LAA and the HQ-pack and it runs without any crashes. The only annoying thing is the all-time-present textmod-graphic-glitch. Spoils immersion, but I get used to it soon.

Got one problem with the FXAA injector: can't start the game when it is in use.
Have read all the posts here, and You suggest to try admin-mode or disable anti-virus-progs. Maybe it will fix it.

Thank You for sharing Your brilliant work with us.

Thank you very much,

The graphical glitches are a result of TexMod itself and not my textures. They can be temorarily fixed withj alt+tab, so anytime it becomes annoying to your just alt+tab and you should be good.

As for FXAA injector, it can crash for a few reasons. The first one that come to mind is if you are trying to use the skyrim version, I can't get it to work with MassEffect, so I use the one I have josted over at moddb. Links are in the mod description. Also FXAA can crash if you are forcing tripple buffering through a program like D3D injector, to allow higher frame rates with no screen tearing. It may also crash with fps monitoring programs and use of mulitple injectors like trying to run ENB and FXAA at the same time.

So to troubleshoot, make sure you are trying the FXAA I have hosted with the mod, are running no other injectors or monitors, and that you are not forcing AA in the graphics control panel. See if these suggestions help, if not please tell me your system specs, in particular the graphics card you are using and I'll see what I can find to help.

Good luck and thanks again for your kind words :)

I have already fixed the problem. After running TexMod in Admin-Modus and with disabled Anti-Virus it finaly works.

Took me some time to notice the check-boxes im the FXAA menues, the game looks better to me if I just change some saturation and fog settings. Don't use the AA-menue at all.
I added the SMAA-injector for AA, and had no problems as far.

You don't need justify yourself for the TexMod glitches. I have read all the 35 pages here, and used google to find informations about the side-effects. Anyone clever enough to find mods online should have enough brains to figure out why this glitches happen, before they blame You.

Are You currently working on some ME mods, or is this project finished for You?

Glad to hear you got it working. I agree with you for FXAA I only use it for color effects, and post sharpening. But lately I have just been using SMAA. Is there a way to run both SMAA and FXAA together? That would be ideal. I'm going to mess around with it now.

Also, I am still working on the mod real life is just hectic right now, but I want to finish some civilian NPC clothings and I will upload all the updates once I have done so.

Any chance we could get a version with the original film grain? I'd hate to say it, but I like the original one better.

Or if you told me the filename, I could just recompile it without that particular texture...

I have checked my settings and actually can't run FXAA and SMAA together. SMAA always overwrites FXAA. Did't notice this until now...
Should I find out how to use both, I'll post it here for You.

Glad to hear You still work on this project.

I really liked the pattern you used or made for Tali's pants, the red yarn in the black stitching. If that's a pattern and not hand crafted, could I have the pattern? I've been trying to do some modding (poorly :V) and really liked that particular texture.

Thanks, but unfortunately that pattern is not a pattern its drawn. The reason it shows up on the black and red version is because I used the texture to build the normal map so it picked some details up from that. The pattern is all Bioware I just cleaned it up from the artifacting that took place when they compressed the textures. I will post a show of the textures to show what I am talking about.

This shows what I'm talking about, so the pattern has already been applied to a model and ripped from it so there is stretching and omission etc...

Ah, OK CDAMJC. Thanks for showing me that.

Hm. Maybe I'll try to recreate it.

Can I use this Mod for ME2 exactly the same way as I used it for ME1? I mean just the fullpack? I have not found a fullpack for ME2 only and don't think that the new characters are included in the fullpack.

For mass effect 2 I have only ported minor textures, use Jeanluc's for the main characters. Here is a link to my textures, I haven't uploaded a full pack yet. I will in the near future. Link

Sure, I'll upload the file tomorrow because I have to work today:/ I am sorry for the lack of activity this month, life has just been hectic. I have plans for this mod that I will see through before I end this project. So I can assure some major updates will be coming. For now Ill upload the robot file to the individual mods section tomorrow. I was eyeballing the scientists outfits in ME3 aswell as the keepers and I think I want to take a crack at HD versions of those to port into ME1, but I haven't logged them so I don't know if they are ripped in the same format. I'll update here when I find out. I like the art in the Mass Effect 3 textures, but the compression is just overkill. So I am going to see what I can borrow from 3 and put into 1 which will help with continuity aswell as just look better.

Hi CDAMJC :)

I just wanna say thanks for making this mod, i cant even think about how much time youve had put into this mod. So thanks.

But unfortunatly i cant start the game, i had patched my game with LAA and my system specs are more than better than the requirements so i cant figure out why it wont start + ive just upgraded my system so normaly i could run +60 frames all the time.

So a more detailed explanacion is that when ive had choosed the Mass effect.exe file in texmod and also have opened the fullpack.tlc file and then press run the game starts loading nothin special but after like 3 minutes of loading whitout any bioware logo video or whatever it says something about runtime error with the Mass effect.exe file. And its the C++ utility that says that.
And no this isnt a pirated version, i love bioware and mass effect so theres no reason to even think about getting the pirated version and this game is really cheap nowadays so still no reason for me to get the pirated version.

But it will be greatly appreciated if you could help me CDAMJC or someone else that have had the same problem as me. Please i want to see for my self how amazing the textures are.

Thanks for your support :)

I'll will now try to help with your situation. I know for a fact that that exact error comes up when then game runs over the 2 gigabyte limit and LAA is not applied. However it could also appear if you only have 2gigs of RAM. My advice is to try the low resource edition of the pack and see if the error message persists just to rule out a memory issue.
If you have more than 2.5 gigs of RAM and 750mb VRAM the full HQ pack should work, just make sure you have applied the LAA patch to Masseffect.exe, if you are on the steam version apply it to the original masseffect.exe (the one you renamed). It can't hurt to apply it to Texmod, but it need to be applied to Masseffect.exe.

for full instructions read here: tutorial

Try this out, and if you already have I apologize for redundancy.  Sometimes going back over the whole process will lead to finding a possible error.  If the problem persists please let me know, along with you system specs and I'll see what else might be the problem. Good luck :)

Hi again CDAMJC :)

Thanks for the quick reply i really appreciate your help.
So now recently i tried the Performance version of your awesome mod and it worked with no fps loss at all.
I would really have wanted to have the HD fullpack but i think the reason why it didnt work was that i have a 32bit Windows 7 installed on my computer. Otherwise my specs should be able to handle the HD fullpack textures.

My specs are:
GPU: Asus GTX 550ti 1024mb DDR5
CPU: Intel core 2 quad Q9400s 2,66ghz Quad core processor. 64bit compatible.
RAM: Corsair 4gb DDR3 1333mhz

And all the other stuff is unimportent in this case.

But i will get a 64bit Windows 7 or 8 disk as soon as possible just to play Mass effect 1 with your amazing HD textures and also some other stuff too though.
But thanks again for the help and keep on working, Many others including me loves this textures so please dont stop we love what you are doing for us :).

Hi again CDAMJC :)

So today i tested to apply the LAA on Texmod and after i did that i ofcourse started texmod but then it turned out that texmod was a trojan but luckily my Antivirus protection was there.
Just wanted to mention that as well otherwise with the Performance edition everything works well, i really need to see how the full textures look so as soon as possible im going to get a 64bit Windows 7 disk.
Have a nice day :)
