Also try logging in to Moddb first, then clicking the download button and use the mirrors link next to the gamefront link. That should give you more options.

Do I direct LAA to the MassEffect.exe that was originally(named) the Texmod?

Apply the LAA to your original masseffect.exe that you renamed for TexMod to work. Though you can apply it to both TexMod(now named Masseffect.exe) and the original masseffect.exe(now renamed to whatever you chose). I have to because when I build the full pack TexMod will crash with out LAA. But for people only running the mod it is only necessary to apply LAA to the original MassEffect.exe. I hope this helps, let me know if you need clarification.

Welp seem's Mass Effect on Steam for me is kaput. Had to redownload it for this new pc and the thing stuck at 99%(pause updated). Trying to get around this :P for the awesome mod

Oh jeez I hope all my work wasn't wasted. He's the best around. I just had a look at his updates and they look really good. I think our interpretations are different enough that people will experiment with both? I have always complimented JeanLuc's work and I will continue to. But I know he likes to do his own thing as he has mentioned when asked to team up with Smarteck. I feel the same, I love his work but I also want to challenge myself and people can always choose what textures suit there fancy. Thanks for the suggestion and support :)

Now with ShadowFilterQuality set to 8. 8 seems to be a maximum value for this setting in UT3 Engine because raising it to 10 or 15 will result to nothing. Shadows will be the same as with 8

So as u can see both pcfs and vsms shadows with .ini tweaks looks much better and much more detailed than with default .ini settings. I tried raising maxshadowresolution to 8192 but it seems that such shadowsize is not supported by mass effect cuz I havent noticed any difference. Shadows looks same as with 4096. Personally I dislike PCFS shadows due to sharp edges and with VSMS they look much smoother.

Finally had the time to try this out today, and I noticed that Harkin's face texture isn't connected well to the rest of his head. Here's a pic:

It's more apparent in-game, looks like he has a mask on :D

It's not a huge problem, just thought you might wanna know. Sorry if it's been already mentioned.

Well finally able to change the files name for the texmod..bad news is when I deleted Mass Effect and reinstalled, I go to Documents/Bioware and the Mass Effect folder is missing :o theres a folder for it under steamapps but does't have all the BIOengine config file. EDIT: got it back forgot I had a Disc back up for all my games ^^ soon I will be able to play with this awesome mod :o

So I got everything going but after I launch it the picture of ME comes up then goes to a Black screen and ends up Not Responding. Any ideas?

Just wait, it can take from 3-10 minutes to load depending on your rig. I am at about 3-4 minutes. Once in game load times will be normal.

Oh ok, runtime error requires LAA patch to be applied to the original mass effect.exe (the one you renamed) and that will allow the game to access enough RAM to avoid this crash.

Your Garrus looks freaking amazing, I'm super excited to see what else you've done to improve on your old textures. The only bad part to all this, is that I don't want to continue playing ME1, until you've finished completely with your re-texturing.
