i noticed you continue to upload pictures on imageshack.com ....
but i think it's too much advertised and overvalued...
i would recommend you to give a look to imgur.com
direct link is allowed too (because i hate opening the image load a new page and then show image)

Did some work on the armor and small touch ups on the face, still have to do the neck and finish up the armor.
First, let me say I've been using your textures for ages, CDAMJC. I really appreciate all the work you've done and it has really enriched our games. You've got a good eye for improvements and I enjoy your packs most of all, it keeps things simple.
That said, I hope you don't mind some (hopefully constructive) criticism with the above picture. I'm a big fan of Garrus, but not of the light stripes. I really feel he'd be better served, in high resolution, with their absence.
I play on a 2560x1600 display, and perhaps because of the larger display I instantly disliked those light-stripes in ME3 and I find them ugly and distracting here as well. Partly because they're not really (recessed) light sources, they're just light-paint and it's painfully obvious in high resolution I find it mars everything it touches, notably turians and krogan.
Let me end this by saying I'm realistic; I'm not expecting you to change your textures on my account.

^ I find this version (your WIP from a few days ago) vastly superior to the light-striped version. My eye is drawn to Garrus, not the ugly stripe.

I find your open-mindedness and candor just as welcome a sight as your high res textures.
The Mass Effect community has, bar none, the best modding community I've seen. Not just in terms of quality but approachability. Yourself, Ottemis, Jean-Luc, Dead_Meat, Smarteck, PKchu, saltisgood, Mr.Fob, and many others over the years. You're the heroes Mass Effect deserves.

One suggestion I'd make for Garrus' armor (and you might be planning this already) is to tone down the scratches a bit. With the exception of a few scratches/scuffs, it looks more realistic for most of the wear and tear to be near the edges of the armor plates, rather than being almost evenly distributed across the whole armor.
Yes, I totally agree I got carried away with the scratches. Thanks for the advice
I am currently reworking some things, the light behind his head will be nixed I couldn't get to look clean, the polys are wacky in that area and I can't get a straight line. At the moment I've added a brushed metal feel to the armor, no scratches, yet and I'm trying to figure out an appropriate texture for the softer parts of the armor. We'll see what I come up with by the end of this weekend.

It's like asking why someone watches their favourite movie again. Only, this gets improved upon re-play.

It's looks pretty sweet right now.
Edit: You could always try for the ME3 look
ME1 - default

ME2 - added lighting in weird places for some reason.

ME3 - finally put the lighting in the right places

Might be the area light but the blue look's rather dark in my opinion.

2 other questions - firstly, for the sake of continuity, will garrus' armour be available for other c-sec turians in all 3 games eventually, and will liara's face work in all 3 games?
Secondly, would an eyebrow-less liara (and benezia) be possible? I know it's silly, but it just knocks down the whole sci-fi thing for me (EDIT: removed my rant, not necessary - in short, I'm not a fan of the convenient eyebrow markings). Keep up the fantastic work, the new techniques you're using are really making a difference and are such a vast improvement over your early work

I do like the look of the last garrus, just think the blue could stand out more, closer to the me2 style, and most importantly needs to look clean - even in the wards the citadel isnt filthy and action isnt as common as that texture seems to suggest. And besides, C-Sec would maintain and manufacture armour constantly, they wouldn't let a detective wander around the citadel tower in damaged and worn armour, so even if his armour had suffered damage on duty, he'd probably have a clean set shortly before we first meet him.

Great suggestions and observations. I like your attention to detail. I will try and bring out the blue more
I will eventually put Liara in all three games.
The C-Sec armors are different polys and therefore UV mapping in ME2 and ME3 so it will be a lot of work :/. For now I'm focused on ME1.
Eyebrow-less is possible but it will have to be a seperate file because I want to leave the eyebrow for "staying true to Bioware's sake".
I'm glad you like the new techniques(I learned what "brushes" did and how to use them
