Really love this version - reminds me of the ME3 turian armour darzkai linked to above. Although if/when you edit me3, i suggest you give the blue and black armour to C-Sec turians, and give the palaven army more of a rugged, guerilla army appearance (like garrus' me3 armours, particularly the camo one - that appearance suggests to me a force fighting the inevitable however it can, with few resources).
Anyway, in short, LOVE IT.

Do you have an imageshack account?
If so then you should be allowed to get a direct link.

Taking a break from Garrus I've done a little work on Liara
This one is so much cleaner and better than the previous version, I need this. Liara is the reason I decided to install a texture pack and start ME1 again, it's nice to see you're still working on it.
Now I have to stop playing ME1 until I can download this. Do you have an estimate date when it will be ready? Looking forward to it

First, thank you very much for this awesome mod. Second, my game keeps crashing, it does not even start, i clik on the run button on the Texmod and then the splash screen appears, but the message Mass Effect has stopped working appear, any tips?
Hi there, I would first advise you to read through the first post on this forum, check the system specs, and all the things you need to get the mod running are described in a step by step manner. If you have done this already I apoligize.
If it is just hanging on a black screen, that is normal and it can take anywhere from 3-10 minutes for the game to load, but it will load. Once in game all load times will be normal, so it's a one time wait whenever you first start up the game. The load time is because of TexMod inserting tall the textures into the RAM, its slow and for some reason slower with ATI cards.
If you need more help please let me know and I'll see what I can do for you. Goodluck and thanks for your support

Garrus is perfect on the last screenshot. Much better than the original and definitely the best re-imagined version.
I know that may be over your head but have you managed to get ME1 running in 5.1 surround without a Soundblaster audio card? I've tried both my onboard RealTek and ASUS DX audio cards, but doesn't work. Only stereo...
Also, when running the entire package with new HD textures, how much RAM does TexMod use? I have a 512mb video (albait DDR5) and only 4gb of DDR2 RAM...

Ah, seeing these makes so nostalgic... can't wait for you to finish these. Too bad nobody managed to figure out how to import textures directly into ME1 (maybe using the UE3 SDK), that would have allowed for a true overhaul, including environmental textures, effect, etc. Still, what you've done is simply amazing.

Someone actually asked WarrantyVoider about this over on the ME3Explorer forums not too long back, on whether or not he'd make it compatiable with ME1/2 as well. In particular for using it to import the high res textures that were being made for ME1/2 (mentioning CDAMJC in the process).
Course while WarrantyVoider refused to do so, citing his busy schedule, he did create viewers for both games, though coders are needed, if it's to be taken to its logical conclusion.

Wait. Why would you suggest an alternate/unsupported driver? I recently bought a Xonar Essence STX (to go along with my HE-500 headphones) because I wanted virtual surround for gaming and movies. What is the purpose would using unsupported drivers? Does it fix something? (Note: Genuine question. I haven't played Mass Effect with my Xonar yet. I was using a SoundBlaster fatal1ty card previously.)

in fact, they are 10 times more frequently updated than asus official one
and they are also more stable and faster too (with fast i mean lower latency) and yes, some bugs are only fixed there
virtual surround will work with this version too
in all over the net, nobody that dared to try comes back

I had some extremely bad experiences using alternative drivers for Creative Labs SB cards; both ("kX" and later the "PAX" drivers), and both did horrible things to my high-end system. They were (and are) highly regarded drivers even now.; people still sing their praises. But settings would never save properly, weird mic crackling that never went away without muting the mic entirely, speakers that would suddenly stop working and never work again until Windows was completely wiped and reinstalled (yes, I cleared the registry files and used CCCleaner/Driver Fusion/untold other software to clean it -- nothing ever worked except a total wipe).
So you'll pardon my hesitation and extreme doubt. And yes, kX and PAX both said the same thing, and were updated much more frequently. They also introduced frequent bugs each patch and slowly started implementing terrible owner/programmer-preferences on their users instead of the proper baseline. If I wanted someone messing with default treble and bass settings, I'd do it myself.
Not arguing with you, just recounting multiple bad experiences with multiple alternative drivers. They are all bad. I don't think I'd ever trust "alternative drivers" ever again. There is nothing broken with the Asus drivers as far as I'm aware, or have tested it with. Which is why I was curious -- after all, it's a new card for me, so I haven't tested it as extensively as I'd like so a lot of software may react differently and it's good to know in advance.
Btw, the date on both the Asus drivers and the ones you linked are both 'dated 2010.

i can confirm, however, i have never had any problem
and that the benefit they are claiming are real, not bloatware (in comparison, asus official was)
if you want a stable and reliable version, try 1.54 or 1.63 stable-beta, low DPC latency (which doesn't come with autostart flag)
they are 2 months old, the original post was dated in 2010, but it was updated in the years
i end by saying i would never come back
good luck

I was hoping for something more Mass Effect-specific out of that tangent (as I've never played it with my STX card and was curious why the alternative driver suggestion was brought up). As for me, I'll pass. Again, there is no latency (the notion that there is defies the basis of hardware-based soundcards), and I've seen no issues with the default drivers (caveat: so far -- always good to keep an open mind) to make me think upgrading is a good idea given the extremely poor track record of alternative drivers (past and present). And no, Asus does not support the alternative drivers. Not even a little bit.
Nonetheless, I want to thank Pigosso for replying. I was just hoping for something more technical/quantifiable I guess.

Also, I'm really looking forward to the Liara work. I am curious though, is it just me, or are her lips a brighter shade of pink now? I know they did that under certain lighting, but perhaps I've just gotten used to them being darker blue from later games?
