So - I've flipped or tried every single light/shadow setting I can find in different combinations. It does not fix the issue. I've tried updating drivers, full reinstall, deleting all the files in config, etc.

The best "solution" seems to be disable dynamic shadows. Unfortunately it leaves this ugly super pixelated nose shadow on Tali's face.

If someone with working shadows could just put all the files in "C:\\Users\\YourNameHere\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect\\Config" in a .rar file and upload it/share, I'll try it and see if that fixes it. Otherwise it's some kind of hardware incompatibility or space magic error.

EDIT: Found a random person's files. Never mind. It seems to be some kind of issue with my computer or graphics card, I don't think I can fix it. : /

Word to the wise: don't replace your engine.ini file with a random person's. You may end up spending 3 hours trying to restore original functionality of Mass Effect as your frame rate plummets and textures look awful for no reason. <_<

It's like it has a memory of old .ini files or something. Bizarre.

other people .ini files don't work because they didn't have the right "ini version" that you can find at bottom
whenever you reinstall the game, it will assign you a (i think) random number
if you replace that number in (for example) CDAMJC one it will work

Just out of curiosity is there any high resolution textures for armors other than N7? Or is that planned for the future?

There will be more ;) but for now I want to finish up the maincharacters and custom shep faces, and hairs which is a huge amount of work but when that is done I will go for the armors.

I have a question about the The Full Pack. Does it include all the Bioware project files up to the Udina and Council file?

saltisgood said that he would look into this when he is done with texplorer for ME3. (look into this = how much work it would be to get it working with ME1 and ME2)

Hey CDAMJC, if you've been working on anything cool recently, can we see a sneak peek?

Looking through this, I see a lot of potential for forward porting into ME3 (specifically via Texplorer).

Hmmmm....

Warning - what follows is a random, out-of-the-blue show of moral support for all the had work that's going on.

Have a happy new year, CDAMJC !

On a less cheerful note... :-(

I decided to run a test to see how my SweetFX settings worked with just the Liara textures (LiaraclothingandFaceNormalHD loaded first, then LiaraFaceHD). I used the same setup as with my copy of ME2 -- TexMod is Mass Effect/Binaries and renamed MassEffect.exe, whilst in the same folder the actual MassEffect.exe is renamed MassEffectOriginal.exe.

I launch the game from the Steam window, it opens TexMod correctly, I point TexMod toward MassEffectOriginal.exe, add the two textures, hit the Run button...

...and bam, failed to start game (app already running).

This doesn't happen when I launch TexMod.exe from elsewhere, point it toward MassEffect.exe (the actual game) and launch... but of course in that configuration TexMod textures do not load.

Since I've already struggled for a while to get Mass Effect to launch (it will now only run in administrator mode for some reason - seems to be a semi-common problem) and to have SweetFX run with it, I'm running out of ideas. :-(

I'm sorry for asking this without searching the whole thread but it's kinda late and papa needs some rest :3

I keep getting this "The file you have selected (fullpack081812.zip) is not available via any mirrors. Please check back shortly as our servers update every 5 minutes." for nearly two hours. Are there any other mirrors?

I think you can use this link to get all those files:
http://social.biowar...ect/5275/#files

Now I have a question of my own to the guys here, is Texmod really the only way to use these mods? I've used mods before on ME3 and I used them with Texmod, and I assume I have to do the same exact thing for these mods but is there another way?

sign up to moddb to expand mirrors available

@Ghostwise try to disable antivirus while running the game (it it works, then put texmod and the game exe to whitelist)

Actually, I've had this exact same problem with the shadows. So it's not just you. Still don't know how to fix it as well. :/

I've given up on it, the game looks good still without dynamic shadows post-CD's awesome textures. I'm guessing it's just a hardware thing.
