Yup it's going to be a huge update i can't wait and yeah he just made me realize the importance of windows 8, rt, surface and using photoshop to edit textures with a pen is so awesome!
I love the Surface Pro! Currently photoshop needs an update, or windows does, (not sure which) to allow pressure sensitivity with the pen so I am waiting for that, the pen does work just no pressure sensitivity yet for Photoshop. To test the pen I use sketch book and simple paint apps free from the windows store and I can say its going to be amazing for photoshop once updated.
I know the surface is a controversial item. My opinion is that the surface pro = the ONLY item that does everything it does in one package. It runs Windows RT tablet apps and Windows 8 Pro (full OS) and functions as a drawing tablet with a screen (which typically cost just as much or more than the Surface Pro itself. With it, I get fun tablet apps apps but also office, photoshop, and steam. This cannot be done on Android, Apple, or the Surface RT because they are tablets, where as the Surface RT is the future for laptops. So when I read reviews complaining about price, weight, and battery life, all compared to the beloved ipad, I roll my eyes because they are reviewing the pro as a tablet and its not.
Until now I was an avid Android supporter, apple just turned me off with arrogance and ads that offended me being a heavy PC user. They basically called me a loser with those comercials so I vowed then to never go apple. I understand apple is a solid product for what they are, but as a gamer and because they offended me I wont buy Apple period. I dig my galaxy Nexus but I am really enjoying the windows 8 feel with a touch screen and with my next phone I may go Microsoft aswell. Its just so fast to navigate and it feels more polished to me than Android or Apple. I feel they are on to something I just worry its too late to the game in the phone and tablet world.
Back on topic I can only recommend the Surface Pro with windows 8, not the RT. This is because there aren't enough apps to compete with Apple or Android and there is no core windows legacy support. Tablets are vastly slower than the Surface Pro, this thing is lightning fast and stomps iPad, Android, and the RT in app loading, transitions, and multitasking. We're talking an i5 vs ARM processors, 4gigs of RAM vs 1or2 in tablets, and a solid state HDD vs flash based storage technology. This is what I mean when I say it's not a tablet. This makes tablets feel like gimmicky toys, now I know there are serious apps out there for the working world on the other platforms, so please no hating, its just my opinion that this device feels more useful. When applied to what I do on it, it's definitley more useful for me.
The creator of Penny Arcade did one of the latest issues on the Surface Pro it's a great article that unbiasly describes what it does from art to steam. I can run Mass Effect vanilla great on it and I think it'll handle the mod in the new format...but we'll see. There are also videos of this thing running Skyrim, do that on a tablet

Basically I love it and recommend it, I know its pricy but look at what you're getting: an Ultrabook, a Surface RT, and a drawing tablet. Try buying all three of those for a grand. Now if you don't have use for those three items don't buy it, but if you want all three I don't think there is a better deal whether in one device or three.
Sorry to ramble, there just seems to be so much hate towards this device, but I love it so I'm trying give it some props.
