No, not yet. It's getting to the point where I'm considering ripping the data from memory and just brute force comparing all the files to try and find it. Whilst the version in your pack is 24-bit, it looks like a grayscale, which should get matched if it was in the Texplorer. This seems to imply that it's not being registered, which means it's probably not one of the 2 texture classes that the Texplorer works with. So I have no idea where it's hiding at the moment.

Hello, new to this forum, I'm used to modding Skyrim and Mass Effect you can imagine is a drastic change however, I managed to install the textures correctly. I am wondering about the female Shepards armor though, it seems to render for me in really bad quality, I'm uncertain if the armor is suppose to have been re-textured and if so, I have not the slightest clue how to find the name of the texture needed to attempt to re-install. I am of course talking about the default armor at start.Thank You

I tried to create .mod files but unable to replace .Norm files in mod generator.
I receive a "Texture not in correct format" error. Anyone knows how i can fix that?

if you right click on the texture in texplorer and go to propertis>view texture properties and in the window you will see format: that is the format of that texture. I tould you that so you know where to lock if you get that error again. The standard format for all normal textures in mass effect 1 is PF_NormalMap_HQ and your texture that you are trying to replace ore upscale is not that format to change it to that format you need a program called The Compressonator link below. When you install it open it up and click F4, navigate to the location of the normal texure and in the files of type select Direct Drow Surface Textures and select the normal dds file.Know a bit down you have 3 settings with dropdown menus for Output file format select dds, for output format select ATI 3Dc Compresion and in the same row click on options and check ATI2N click ok. And for the thrd one its optional it depends on how you want to applay textures with texplorer, if you went the easy way and selecter Replace>Add Bigest Image set that thrd setting to D3DXFilter. But if you want to replace textures using Replace>Replace image ore Upscale Image use the No MipMaps setting. After you select what you want click on compress (not compress all) and wait for it to finsh and try adding the texture again.

This work is so incredible... The new graphics made me drop a couple of tears...

Impressive job. Thanks for create give this awesome game a so good aspect now. Thanks CDAMJC  for the High-res textures, thanks saltisgood  for the ME3Explorer edition and thanks so someone who post this
http://www.writeups....hp?id=5322#900  The last part, Playing Mass Effect in 2013 gives some nice tips for a better looking.

I bought the trilogy a bit ago. Just finished one time, but with this I think I'll create one Shepard of all the classes :-D

Just a question, saltisgood. You put another links in the previous page (4 links and a lightmap). What are the differences with the old version (3 links)? Which of them I need to download or there's no problem in copy them over the others?

About that, I had the same issue. Was very frustrated so after a couple days I decided to continue with the game. Surprisingly, the textures worked well, even in the first cinematic. It sseems that the bug only affect the character creation. In fact, you can barely see that female Shepard has her hi-res texture armor before it changes to the lowest version.
So, I can live with that bug, while the rest of the game looks good

If it's the .mod files, they have to be run and inserted through ME3Explorer, it injects them permanently into the game, you don't put them in CookedPC - If you're talking .tpfs, need to run Texmod

There are a few glitches I've noticed where a really low lod gets loaded when the HD textures are installed, light and medium versions of the N7 armor, only when creating a new character, then they are gone. Also a small dialog with Saren and the council there are two points where Saren;s face just drops to low lod...not sure what's causing it but I found the issue very minor and forgot to report it, of course it would be awesome if anyone knew a fix.

If you mean the .mod from saltisgood they you may have the same issue as me and your game is a different installed language version. My whose russian and than i changed it to english. If you did that the .mod will not work for you because its for the english version only.

@Dns42: Yeah sorry about that, it was a glitch in the Mod Generator's format logic. It's fixed on my end and will be rolled out with the next update.

Salt, if I may ask, what effect does Automatic Updating of TOC.bin affect? I find myself curious, namely after I forgot to tick it and ran the textures, and had to repeat the process just for that option, due to concern it may not work otherwise.

^PCConsoleTOC.bin (TOC.bin for short) is a file in ME3 that tracks the sizes of all the files. If it's not updated when modding something it crashes the game. It seems pretty pointless to me, probably just another anti-modding mechanism. But the point is that ME3Explorer doesn't differentiate between installing mods for any of the games and since ME3 is the main focus, by default it wants to fix the file. For any of the other games it's a pointless exercise so I gave you the option to disable it.

Yeah, they're minor bugs. The first time with the character creation was a bit of deception, until I decided to continue. No really problem with that, except that one don't know that the textures really worked until the game begins.
And for the Saren's face... let's say it's a problem of communication of the holo :P

^They're the 2 examples I've seen as well. The strange thing is that when I was watching the character creation screen one time I saw it load in the HD textures and then when it got to the top it randomly just switched back down to the blurry mess. Pretty bizarre.

In other news, after some detective work and modification to uMod I figure out how to rip the textures' raw data directly from memory and that allowed me to figure out why TexMod gets a different hash to ME3Explorer when it encounters normal maps. As you might have read, the normal maps don't get auto-matched in Texplorer. I can now say that's because of a bug in TexMod not correctly finding the length of the data array and only running the checksum over half the data. And since I now know that, I can do the same thing in Texplorer, which means that normals will now also be auto-matched. Yay!

I'm about to try using the same technique to find the damn film grain texture. I'm a bit more pessimistic about that one though. We shall see.

Hey CDAMJC, just wanted to drop by and say you've done fantastic work. In fact, I think your Garrus face retex is the best I've seen. I was wondering if you would be able to
"port" it to mass effect 2 and 3 with the respective scars for each game? It would be greatly appreciated.
