Mass Effect 1 Updated/Improved Textures Mod

Tried that but I am unsure if it worked...
I followed the instructions (downloaded and installed me3explorer) and it seems to complete really fast. Like too fast; within about 5 seconds fast.
And I can't tell if there is a diff in game so I am pretty sure nothing installed.
Installing the mod files individually... P1.mod seems to simply hang on the very first job. And same with the other P#.mod files too.
LightMaps.mod conversely wants to know where MassEffect3.exe is...
So yeah...
Not having any luck here.

Hello everyone, I believe this is the first time I've posted in this thread. If you haven't heard from me before then let me introduce myself, I'm saltisgood, a developer on ME3Explorer among other things. CDAMJC's mentioned ME3Explorer before but the idea is that whilst TexMod only modifies the game in memory and needs to be applied every time the game is launched, ME3Explorer directly mods the game files, removing the startup load time and giving better performance in general. (Note that the program was originally for ME3 hence the name, but certain parts have been ported over to ME1 and ME2)
We've got a system in place where you can create and share .mod files that can be installed with one click in the program and that's what I'm about to share with you all today. I've gone through and converted almost all of the mods in CDAMJC's last (23/3/13) full res release to these .mod files, available at these download links:
(Links have been edited with fixed mod files)
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
(Note that these are separate archives, you can download any or all of them)Inside each of the archives are a bunch of these .mod files that I've mostly named to show what's in them, some of them might be generically named if I couldn't work out exactly what it was for. With the reupload there's only 1 mod in each of the archives for simplicity. Once again, they're all separate; you can install any one or all of them.
Install instructions:
1. Download ME3Explorer. You can get the standard copy from sourceforge, or you can get the latest copy via SVN. I'd recommend SVN because the program gets updated all the time on that, whereas the SF releases are slower. Details on SVN are here.
2. Extract the contents of the mod archives from the above download links.
3. BACK-UP YOUR GAME FILES!!! If something goes wrong, not that it should, or you wish to revert your files to the stock version you WILL NEED your original files!
4. Open the ME3Explorer program and click on Tools/Mod Maker. Then click on TOC.bin/Automatic Updating Enabled (this is just a shortcut thing, since we're modding ME1, the program doesn't need to do ME3 specific fixes).
5. Click File/Load Jobs, then select some of the .mod files. You're better off only selecting one or a few at once so as not to tie up your computer if it takes a while to install.
6. Click Run/Run All.
The program will then run through and install all of the mods in the list. You can see the progress in the progress bar at the bottom, or in the debug window. Once it finishes it will pop-up a message to inform you of that. Once finished if you want to install more mods you should first clear the current list (File/Clear Jobs) then you can load some more in. And that's it!
If there are any issues with installation or bugs you find in the program you can post on the ME3Explorer forums. I'll do my best to answer any questions here, but I don't want to clog up the thread with long discussions, so that should go on the other forum. Happy modding.
3 4 and 5 arent working atm

Dear god. How do we install this frigging thing?
EDIT:
Ah found it.
It's in the bin/debug folder.
EDIT2:
Not sure tho...
Does hitting the thing in TOC.bin need to be at Enabled or Disabled? The "instructions" aren't very clear.

Doing each mod file individually and did lightmaps.mod first. It installed everything, did the "updating" thing, and then once again asked me where the ME3.exe was.
I don't get it.
Why isn't it working?
EDIT:
I tried pointing it at masseffect.exe and it had an error and threatened to crash but I told it to "continue". and nothing... So going forward trying to install one of the other mod files. See what it does.
EDIT2:
Yeah p1.mod seems to just hang on the first file.

Make sure TOC.bin Automatic Update is disabled, it'll say it's disabled, that's why it's trying to call on ME3, once thats done it'll install to ME1 automatically.
CD: Not sure if you already know this or not, but I just went through Pinnacle Station and noticed Aherns hands don't match his facial skintone, hands are white (the whitest skintone in game, I believe), face is the normal tanner looking colour, tried to get a screengrab but failed miserably at it, so hopefully thats of slight help! Keep up the good work, and are you porting over these ME1 textures into ME2? (The ones you can do, Ash, Wrex, etc?)
saltisgood: If you're alive somewhere, is ME2 going to get the same autoinstall .mod capability as ME1? Does it already? Just wondering so I can import some textures when I hit ME2

Salt does have plans for ME2 but he is probably taking a well deserved break because he spent so much time/effort getting ME1 working.
Also all of the above confusion and troubleshooting = why I am creating an installer. So those frustrated, I hope to have the installer version ready by the end of the weekend, then allow a few days for the upload and for Moddb to approve the upload etc...
Oh and all ME2 texture ports will be done after I take a small break after the coming release. For those really impatient/excited to get the textures into ME2 and can't wait you can use MEexplorer with the new files once they are released an do it yourself with some technical ability and knowledge required..

And did those instructions 4 times with the "installer version" of ME3 Explorer and 5 times on the SVN version of the program.
So everything seems to be installed (and it sure took ages to be installed) with the SVN version of ME3Explorer. The installer version doesn't work period.
And the game runs a LOT LOT better than when I was playing it with texmod. And no graphical glitches than I can see so far with the UI.
Though I am noticing an intermittent blurring in the elevators on the citadel. Which is odd but not game breaking.

Don't take this the wrong way but you are a rude douchekettle.
Wow. See how saying "don't take this the wrong way" doesn't make your rude statement any less rude?
I am plenty tech savvy, built my own PC so I am no idiot or noob.
I wasn't "doing it wrong" I was following the instructions. It isn't my fault that the installer version of me3explorer is broken and doesn't work; and that the instructions for using the SVN version was about as clear as an obsidian block.
Given that I wasn't and am not the only person to have this problem or similar problems I rather think that the problem doesn't lie with us.
It worked for you first time? Brava. Good for you.
You were and are being decidedly unhelpful.
I got it working in spite of you, and not because of you. So thank you very much for your condescending and rude attitude that only hindered my attempts to figure out what was going wrong with the installer version and then trying to figure out how to get things installed with the SVN version.
Ta!

The installer version is broken - at least it appears so when trying to use it to install to ME1. The reason I say so is because I was following the instructions exactly and it wasn't working. It was either crashing or trying to find me3.exe and then crashing.
Crowbar helped me figure it out.
For some reason even though I was clicking on it the update button as instructed the installer version was not switching it to disabled even though every time I tried I would click it (this contributed to my later confusion about enabled vs disabled). I have no idea why.
The SVN version works heaps better.
On that the problem was the same sort of. The first time, it didn't change to disabled (I conceed it was possible I misclicked) and lightmaps.mod was looking for me3.exe.
Which is when I came to ask "is it supposed to say disabled or enabled". lol. Then I switched it to disabled, and it did it that time, and began trying again. 2nd time, it just hanged when i tried to install p1.mod, and with the other p#.mod files.
3rd time it installed lightmaps.mod but not any of the others, it hung on them again.
4th time was my error, because up to this point I was installing the mod files individually, and this time I tried all of them together and it only installed lightmaps cause I didn't realise you had to select all the mod files together to get them to load as a single job.
So 5th time I selected everything, made sure updates were still disabled (they were), and ran the job. It took about 30 mins or so but everything installed (I think).
So that'd be my advice to anyone having trouble...
Make sure toc.bin updates are set to say disabled.
Make sure you are loading the jobs properly and not being an idiot like me.
And maybe tryin loading them and running them all together.
And most of all be patient.
:-)
Thanks Crowbar1 and rekn2 for helping me figure that one out.

No intentions to be rude as I said. With text it is easy to misconstrue rudeness... I built my PC too btw. All I am saying is if you had followed the instructions you woulda used the SVN in the first place, but no use crying over spilt milk. o7

One = You really should stop while you are ahead. You are just digging yourself deeper.
Two = The instructions don't say to use the SVN version. They suggest people might want to use it but that the installer is just as valid.
Three = I followed the ACTUAL instructions on how to USE ME3Explorer to install the mods with the installer version and sadly it did not work.
I don't see why you are finding it so hard to not be a rude condescending pillock? Honestly!
EDIT:
When someone gets a bit stuck and asks for help telling them "oh well it worked for me you must just be doing it wrong" is not helpful. In fact its less than helpful.
When someone else seeking help echos the sentiments of the first person, and your response is to imply that they must just both be idiots is NOT helpful. And actually its just rude.
Saying "no offence intended" and proceeding to be hugely offensive does not negate the offence.
As my mother used to say, if you have nothing nice to say say nothing at all. If you have nothing constructive to offer refrain from opening your mouth and letting your belly rumble.
EDIT2:
rekn2
screwed up how?
Have you tried fiddling with your in game graphics settings?
