Yeah kind of a language "wingdings" have been around forever I used Word and found "wingdings 2" to contain the symbols they used. I had to distort them with a glass effect because when you look up the font and leave it clean it looks ridiculous.

sometimes ;) All of this holo talk made me want to see what I could do with Avina, I wussed out on her a few months back telling my self I'd come back to her later, and the holo talk was the little push I needed.

Calling all Polish users...I am asking you if the mod works for Polish subtitles, because I see some people had said it didn't and now some say it does.

If you have it working in Polish can you please tell me what you did?  What versions of the game you are using? What if any DLCs you are using? This would be helpful even if you have already posted.  Just so I can gather that it is okay for Polish and solely focus on the Russian version and also make a small instruction file for Polish users to set up the mod correctly for them. Thank you for your support :)

Avina progress HD-ifying the particle effects on her:

ready to do the face and then I should be done

the screens don't quite do it justice, in motion it's pretty sweet, you all should be able to test it out sometime tomorrow.

That's right but i'm seeing an old version of the mod being loaded for Presley's uniform I would try the drag and drop installation approach mentioned in the OP, something didn't install right when you see stuff like that. Looks like the installer has the most issues with previously modded files and behave better with vanilla, drag and drop will override everything though.

Hmm, this would be strange because I did choose the drag&drop option instead of the install/override one. Did you reup your files? The 9 ones I have are from 30th July

Nope not yet, but I didn't mod Pinacle station or BDTS yet so you should see vanilla or new, instead we are seeing the old version which I'm assuming you used MEExplorer to do. This is where I was wrong when I said drag and drop should override everything because I didn't bundle and DLC files in the installer so it can't override DLC errors.  Sorry about that.  I would recommend reinstalling the dlc,  then the mod in that order and see if it alleviates the issue, at least forcing the DLC to use either modded or non, and not mishmashing both.  There is something going on there in those screens for sure.

Thanks for replying.
This is strange and must be another problem. to be 100% sure I just reinstalled ME1 with both DLCs (on my Origin version both DLCs automatically get installed with the game) and this time applied the mod directly on the ME folder via install instead of extracting the files to a different folder and copy/paste and the result is exactly the same. with both methods I get a ME folder size of 23,6 GB but I still get those texture issues on Simon and Kate (BDTS). All other non DLC HR-Textures are ok.
Both ways I used your installer and not MEExplorer.

If you want to test it I can send you a savefile.

No save needed thanks I just got there and can confirm missing textures I'm going to have to add textures to the DLC manually and add them to the installer, ME1Explorer must not update DLC automatically or they used new textures for those characters either way I'll fix it asap.

Very cool, thank you!

I'm also using your nvidia Inspector settings and my GTX 680 runs @ 85-99% usage and 600-900VRAM usage with the new beta 326.41 drivers and 46 fps average

OKay I've looked into the issue textures...they are all modded...weird the issue is the game is looking for miplevels that have since been replaced, so it's something I have to play with MEExplorer to fix, or ask saltisgood for some help either way we'll figure it out.

Okay assuming you've doen the drag and drop installation based on 20.0GB this could be caused by a typo or corrupt Bioengine.ini I would reccommend trying deleting the file from myDocuments\\Bioware\\MassEffect\\Config directory and running the game.  This creates a new one, see if you still have crashes.  If you do let me know and we'll figure it out :)

I'm getting the "Please insert disk # 2" message, but don't know where to go from there. I downloaded the game from Origin. Perhaps I chose the wrong destination for the installation?

I have ME1 in my Origin Games folder, which is an entirely different location from the values you told us to edit in your original post.

Nope nothing to do with that, here's what to do, extract ALL 9 parts so none are in .zip into a folder run the installer set the destination to a brand dew folder, run it.  Once the installer has finished copy and paste the files frm the new folder into your mass effect folder, and say yes to overwrite.

That Avina looks great. Your work is brilliant.

After a while, I've found the balance between graphics and fps (using Nvidia injector) and, even if I don't have full graphics, I have to say the mod is fantastic. Lot of thanks for all your work, saltisgood's and the other people who help with a thing or another. Never thought some of your textures would be so massive and detailed that my pc couldn't handle it (N7 armor and Chawkas) but that is a minor issue for all the greatness of the pack. Thank you very much for all your effort.

I just tried that numerous times. Installing it into a new folder (on my desktop). But the same message keeps coming up.

Some clarification to the above:

First, I own the Origin version there is no "entirely different location" I told anyone to do anything in. The bioengine edits need to be done in mydocuments\\bioware\\masseffect\\config that is where the used copies of these are stored for every version of Mass effect.

Second, if you have extract all 9 parts of the mod from the .zips and still get that error then part 2 is corrupt and you'll need to re-download part 2. Make sure to run the installer as an administrator to avoid windows being an arse. As a fail safe I recommend installing the mod to a new folder, created by you with nothing else in it. Then once the installation has finished copy over those files manually into your Mass effect folder in your case it will be related to origin but there will still be a folder called "Mass Effect" paste the files in there.

Thanks a lot. I'll try that out today.

Alright. So, I re-downloaded part 2, but I still get the same message popping up. ): It always comes up after about two bars in the progress meter of installing. I also ran it as admin in the previous attempts, as well as this attempt. Is there anything else you can think of that might be wrong?

I appreciate the help.

Hmmm, you didn't "Extract every file in a different folder", do you?

That could be the problem. All the files must be in the same folder. At least, sounds like that.

CDAMJC, I have a request:

Would you mind releasing your latest femshep texture, the one which is part of the package that alters the game files permanently, as a standalone tpf file for the TexMod as well? I've noticed that the new femshep texture renders the hairstyle for one of my characters a lot more realistic than the old tpf file does.

Oh, and is possible to get the new crewcut hairstyle for femsheps in different colours?

I have to go through all my textures 250+ excluding lightmaps which salt compiled and get them into tpf's again which will be nightmare because the last 50 or so I never even used TexMod to extract so I don't have the definition file to make the tpf for them.  Then I will make them into .mods and replace all of the tpfs in my project page with .mods.  But it will take some time.

But yeah I did re-texture the long hairs for the latest pack.

Of course they were in the same folder! I'm not sure if it'll even work if you try to extract it partially.

The reason I'd prefer a tpf file is because, if I've understood things correctly, mods alter the game files permanenty. Some of my characters are suited for the texture version you've made as a mod (non-tpf), some are not. The only way I can play all characters therefore seems to be with a non-permanent texture upgrade change that I sometimes apply, sometimes don't, depending on what character I want to play.

But you sound as if you won't offer that option anymore, am I right?

PS. With femshep "crewcut" I meant the hairstyle without hair (first hair type option for femsheps).
