Lol It's my steam name (and a pun
), not that I'm online a ton, and also it's my name on Origin. I tend to stick to single player games and modding of course, because online gaming for me has been 20 percent awesome 80 percent really not awesome. But feel free to find me on Steam or Origin anyway, for Steam/Origin chat, groups, and maybe online gaming

damn! this mod has been absolutely incredible so far. Catechrism, you've done god's work here with this. I can't believe I just found it now! I can finally play Mass Effect 1 again without cringing at every texture I see.
A bit OT, does anyone know if there is a similar mod or process to add High resolution textures to ME2 without using TexMod?

This new place is blindingly... white.

Also I tried adding the lights to the helmets unfortunately the model does not light up like the body so we cant get any glow from the helmets in ME1 :/

Goddammit. Thanks for trying anyway.
Oh and since you're re-doing armors I do have a suggestion to make.
I do remember when you re-textured the Onyx armor you took a lot of inspiration from ME2. It felt more bulky and generally very interesting just to look at.
I would like to see a re-imagining of that scale but on the back of the armor.

It doesn't look bad, but i think having the same color and piece of fabric all over the place hurts it a tad bit, while in ME2

Notice how bulky the legs feel as well.
I don't know If people agree with me, I'm just trying to contribute here. ![]()
Oh and Benezia looks awesome!

Any idea when we'll get our hands on these updates? I'd be happy with just the DDS files and doing the replacements myself.

Sovereign, Geth Transporter, reporter outfit, and more detailed Sheploo. All coming very very soon. The .mods and .tpfs are compiled, now moving into the testing phase, then to build the installer, test again, and then release ![]()

Looks like the mod with the new textures and expanded langauges will install to make your cookedPC folder 22.7GB I'll have more details later on installer size and file sizes etc...

I tried this myself and it means you would have to edit the mesh to allow it to do that imo.

Mesh editing isn't possible in ME1?

Don't know if you want to try it but maybe you could change the ending backgrounds, perhaps using the concept art from ME2 or ingame screenshot instead for example. Two of the Renegade background present in ME1 ending is just a screenshot which is poor since you can see the bad aliasing on the walls in it. ![]()

Well I know you can extract them just putting them back in I think is the problem, if I could do it I would fix the Omnitool to use the correct texture otherwise. ![]()
Edit:
While working on the Visor texture I decided to use your Face texture and decided to make a comparison.
Edit2:
I forgot I had your armor retex when I restarted ME2 and got an awesome shot with it on.

I concur with Darziak, it'd be interesting to see new or improved ending backgrounds.
Out of curiosity, how are the Batarians coming along?

Installation went fine, though I only had a few minutes to frolic in an old old save on Virmire, looking at the squad. :-)
A suggestion - in the first post, when you talk about the changes in bioengine.ini, it could be good to add something like "if you ever make changes in the in-game video settings (for instance to set a new resolution), there is a high likelihood that the texture settings will be reset to default values in bioengine.ini by the game. If some textures seems off, leave the game and check whether you need to redo the changes in bioengine .ini."
Yeah, it's obvious when you're used to tinkering in .ini files and with texture load mechanics, but a newbie could be hopelessly confused by ME's tendency to overwrite settings whenever it hasn't been launched in a while (it tends to do that to controls settings too).

Oh and I need feedback to see if the subtitle language fixes are working please![]()
Hi. Problem with subtitles resolved, working fine.
But I can not overcome the shimmer. It looks awfully in some textures, especially Garrus face. I'm tried force antialiasing in NV driver, but a picture very strongly blurred that way. Life is pain

Thanks for the updates
Good to hear the subtitles are good now!
Yeah in the updates I mention Garrus and Wrex could not be fixed yet because MEExplorer botches something in their replacement and gives them black faces in cutscenes without the single mip fix applied, you could use TexMod and the .tpfs (which I am uploading when I get home from work) for their faces in the mean time, or uses the old method of forcing SGSSAA to render a higher resolution than your screen which will reduce and if set high enough eliminate the shimmer, however the performance cost is quite high. I am ok on my setup with shimmer with no AA @ 2560x1600, I see slight shimmer with Garrus but only if he is far away, so I'm okay with it. Setting up SGSSAA should not blur the image see here on the settings (you need to download and use Nvidia Inspector):

Also I plan on making a 2k version (textures capped at 2048x2048) so that should help with shimmering quite a bit, but it will take a while to build. It will be a performance version and I think it's a good idea to try and allow even more people to use the mod.
So for now hang in there with the shimmer at least the N7 armors and human faces are better. Those were the worst culprits for me and most users I talked to.

Again great work. Especially Shepard's Face looks very nice now.
A pity that I won't be able to play the game with this mod as i still have this random and very anoying stuttering issues whit this mod which I couldn't solve in any way..
Still thanks for all your work. You're doing a really great job!

Some feedback for the shimmering issue on the N7 armour :

Interestingly this only occurs on the more curved surfaces such as the forearms and breasts, with the wavy/shimmery effect. On a male Shepard this might have gone unnoticed.
I'm running in 1920x1080 ; SweetFX is running but all the effects are off to facilitate analysis and I'm not running the generic ENB for now. Tweaks done in the .ini, though I've also turned postprocessing and depth of field to False because I hate joy. The driver has been forced to the following :

Are there further tests I can do for feedback ?

Thanks for Nvidia tips. It almost fully compensated shimming, but...any good thing always contain some sort of ambush. HD textures+Nvidia tweaks make game unplayable, here is link for video of my experience:

I'm asking anyone who use HD textures+Nvidia Inspector confirm if they got stuttering issues like me or
