Its summer, everyone is on vacation!  :wizard:

Yeah, I've never ever had a problem with torrents, but that is because I have experience on PC's. Other people make laughable decisions.

Anyway, when you post you need to reload the page in order for the "EDIT" button to apppear at the lower right corner of your post.

Found it, thanks.

And I generally think that if you're capable of simply browsing the web without giving yourself a virus by being stupid, then torrents won't give you any either. People who claims that torrents gives you viruses just don't know what they're talking about.

Well, that's weird. I downloaded the exact link you sent me, used Bitorrent to access it, but when I check the contents of the file there are only 7 files, not 9

Just another question: I'm annoyed by the blocky shadows that are present in this mod, so I want to install soft shadows from the previous page. The only thing is, at one of the steps it asks you to clear your shader cache. How do you do that?

Edit: Another thing I noticed is that my FPS is constantly in flux since installing this mod. It hovers around 40 FPS, but then it has random moments when it stutters and drops. I have a Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.16 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GTX 275. Not earth shattering specs, but it's been plenty adequate to run all 3 Mass Effect games at 60 FPS, so this FPS drop is bothersome to me. Any ideas on how to fix it, if possible?

Disable V-sync, AA or anything really demanding. You can do so through the options menu IN-game, but you can also have more graphical options though the configuration file in your mass effect folder.

About the shadow blocks:

You need to delete this file: LocalShaderCache-PC-D3D-SM3.upk

In the following directories:

<your user directory>\My Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Published\CookedPC\

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\mass effect\BioGame\CookedPC\

So, if you are fans of smaller downloads and direct links, HERE's my repack.

Size went down from 4,20GB to 2,31 GB (1,89GB save).

It's an auto-installer with arc compression. Extraction should require about 1GB of free ram but at least it had hdd like speeds on my dual core CPU.

Daemonjax shadow fix is also included. Make sure to refer to its instructions too.

@CrazyRm, CookedPC folder without the mod weights somewhere 9,8 GB. So I guess it's correct.

Great. Thanks for the answer. Simply with prior version of modification this folder weighed about 22 GB. I wanted to make sure that everything is correct.

Hello.  I am currently installing the updated texture on an Origin version of ME.  However, I don't know if I should edit the Engine.ini in the BioGame folder or Engine folder.

Search for the commands in either. Only one of them should have them.

I have another problem: I am being asked for a second disk during installation of MEUITM.  Is this pertaining to the second disk of the retail version of ME?  If so, I am at a bit of a disadvantage because, as has already been mentioned, I have the Origin version of ME.

@CptFalconPunch Thanks for the assistance.

I don't really know why you should be asked for a second disk with that installer... anyway the simpler thing is to just use my repackage

Disc 2 error means the second part is not unzipped and/or in the same folder as the installer .exe.  All parts must be unzipped and in the same location for the installer to work.

Update:  I have narrowed down the crashes in Noveria and Altahe back to the rachni in particular the Queen specx map was 8k and did not get overwritten properly on my last attempt to fix, the spec is shared between the queen and the rachni warriors.  I gave resolved the issue but now have to rebuild the whole mod because MEExplorer won't let me update the textures lol...

I am on vacation for 1 week and have decided to get back to the mod, I want to resolve crashes and instabilities as much as possible.  There are some I can't fix like the AMD issues and some sound card incompatibilities but I will try to fix all crashes due to texture related issues.  Maybe some updates to textures if I find the time.

I was working on Image quality today.  Particularly HBAO+ from Nvidia.  As I've said before the Hawken bits work well with Mass Effect for AO but I did see some flickering.  My ultimate hope is that gedosato is eventually able to implement the AO we see in Dark Souls II into Unreal engine games, but until then the Hawken setting is the best I found.  Ironically setting it to performance gave me the least flickering and better IQ overall, most of the time it looks excellent.

Expect more updates soon.

Updates so far this week:

-Fixed All rachni related crashes, Altahe, Noveria, etc...

(problem was the Queen Rachni Spec Map, it had a left over 8k texture from one of my experiments with 8k textures for textures that covered large surfaces that could use the extra details. Rachni warriors and the Queen share this spec map. I have now rebuilt the mod so the spec map is 4k, which means compatible.)

In short ME can't handle 8k textures without crashing and there was straggler which is now removed.

-Random NPC Asari faces are now a little more detailed.

-Udina's hair mask was misaligned causing odd coloring along the hairline, this is now corrected.

-Cleaned up some NPC clothings (sheen on Asari dress, and the underline of the breasts on the Consort dress/outfit which many NPC's also use, removed the blatant line and replaced it with more subtle shading.

-FemShep face shine while talking to Kaidan on the Normandy has been corrected, and while making these correction small improvements have been added to femshep faces.

I have some updates,

Currently working on eyebrows and facial hair for custom Shepards, it's taking forever.  Also I have fixed the bald willis hair, and touched up Udina's hands.  But like I said eyebrows and facial hairs are taking forever but they are coming along.  I will update when I have more/am finished.

Thanks for the answer! Take your time, even if we don't have all time in the universe but we still have plenty of it =]
