This time I didn't use arc compression because I thought that the majority of users is too lazy to download a program just for this. And I even believe that the majority of the antivirus would go nuts to scan a 2.3 sfx (which is executable).
I'd suggest to check this to Catechrism for next version (if he want to follow the GUI installer way)

So what textures are left to do?
What's left:
Armors, weapons, npc clothing, environments...there's a ton. This past week I was re-texturing the windows from Jokers cockpit view, I had a really nice look going on Noveria docking bay using in game screenshots from just outside the window to be truly representative. But then when I went to Feros...it was apparent the game uses the same effing texture...I was so mad. So that idea is shot for now, I can either have Noveria look like Feros and Feros look correct from the cockpit or Feros look like Noveria and Noveria look correct but I can't have both. I found the texture in the game using MassEffectExplorer that is supposed to used, however it looks like it was never assigned to a map package and instead the same texture was assigned to both Feros and Noveria. A small oversight on the devs maybe, but definitely frustrating.

Well I have been splitting my time up between projects lately,
Right now I have teamed with up/am going to carry the torch for a Dolphin texture mod HD textures for Super Mario Galaxy. The author is Razius and his work exceptional. I have only added a few textures so far, but I am working on a conversion of his mod from png to dds format to remove the stutter when the cpu is decompressing the pngs. So far it's working amazing (almost zero performance hit with the format change) and seeing SMG in HD with HD textures is stunning IMO and everything the Wii should have been. Get it at the below link png only now but worth seeing for the supreme quality Razius has provided. I will add my update there in the near future along with the performance friendly version.

I have also a done a few Dragon Age Origins textures a few months back, the Ogre, Desire Demon, and Lady of the forest. Warning the latter 2 are adult but not just for the sake of it like the other adult mods for these characters. I added as much detail as I could and stayed completely lore friendly. I was thinking along the lines of The Witcher, adult but not for stupid's sake. I was playing origins and just needed to mod these textures so I could get past how bad they looked, so I could play the game through.

So I have been busy just taking small breaks from the pain of Modding Mass effect, it really is a challenge compared to Dragon Age, Dolphin, and games like Skyrim, where to mod textures you simply place them in a folder and run the .exe.
But I have not given up on Mass Effect I just sometimes lose my patience and need other creative outlets to get it back.
Well that's all for now hopefully I've answered some questions.

Along with Jean Luc's high res textures but I felt there was alot of character textures missing that could have been taken directly from ME1(? I think). The biggest one for me was Ashley. Is it possible to also transfer over her texture update? The council and Udina were also quite bad if I remember correctly.

Wow, this thread has escaped me for quite some time. It's not in the modding section. If you wanted, you could ask one of the mods to move it there.
Anyway, first of all, I want to say a huge THANK YOU for MEUTIM. It is THE mod for ME1 and really upgrades the game for me and I recommend it to everyone together with ME1 (because IMO, the two belong together on PC).

Huh, I wonder if it's possible to redirect the texture reference in the Normandy map files. I haven't delved into ME1 modding at all but AFAIK, they are basically upks, right? Have you tried looking into the map files?

Have you made the changes in the biogame.ini? If so go back and check everything is correct.
I've found that is usually the cause of the errors when it comes to loading.
I installed bring down the sky midgame and it broke it. But i backed up my biogame.ini and allowed the game to make a new one, but it still crashes.
I think because you didn't do the LAA patch. Bring Down The Sky may have updated the executable, perhaps? I got similar errors to this and it was because the LAA wasn't applied to the MassEffect.exe.

DUDE! Seriously. This mod of yours has been an absolute BLESSING for this game. I just finished my latest playthrough of ME1 in about 2 years and your work is absolutely fantastic. I also introduced this mod to a friend of mine so she can play ME1 for the very first time and it was an amazing experience. Thank you so much.
Late reply but wanako is right I think. Installing DLC overwrites files and updates the .exe.
Reapply the LAA patch and I personally would reinstall the mod too.
Install the mod after DLC, Installing DLC after the mod is installed will break textures and could cause crashes like this. For some reason the DLC updates a bunch of packages with references to old hashes that if the game is modded no longer exist.
Hello people, first I'd like to thank Catechrism for this great mod. I'm really interested in using it as I have not played ME ever and I thought, what better way to do it than with this mod.
But I'm a little confused regarding the BIOEngine tweaks because throughout the thread I found different combinations for the shadows config and I'm not sure which to apply. Moreover I don't know if I should apply them in the [Engine.Engine] or the [Engine.GameEngine] part of the file.
The same happens with the tweaks to get the highest detail in maps in the first post there is one setting then there's something different on another post.
For e.g. on one post I find this:
ShadowFilterRadius=3.000000
DepthBias=0.006000
MinShadowResolution=512
MaxShadowResolution=4096
ModShadowFadeDistanceExponent=0.000000
ShadowFilterQualityBias=8
And on another this:
ShadowFilterRadius=5.000000
DepthBias=0.006000
MinShadowResolution=32
MaxShadowResolution=1024
Just in case it's important, my pc specs are i5-3300 CPU @ 3.00 Ghz 3.00 Ghz, 8 Gb ram and I use a gtx 580. It's not the latest but I think it should run everything pretty smoothly.

Older posts are irrelevant because the engine has been rewritten by Daemonjax. The high min setting at 512 was reccommended by someone probably to remove the facial shadows which I never liked as a fix, but the old shadow engine could be pretty jarring. With the latest version of the mod I stick to what I put in the readme and OP.

i have to say very nice disciption what to do and all...but now i have installed it ...and seems it doesnt work..
i saw somewhere the tip install it in a seperate folder then copy past it...but even after that install..the whole folder was empty..
i do run the program as admin ..
pls help me cause i got bit tired already of the normall ME1 graphics...just bought the game resently so my first play trough
