Mine has got to be Miranda just for the simpel fact that she keeps everything to herself because she can't trust anyone and when you get her to start trusting you she starts to open up which to me seems quite cute :)

I found her annoying, no offense. "I don't know who I am," and "Waah, I'm perfect, life's so unfair!" Please....

But! For the longest time leading up to ME2's release, I was sure Jack had won me over (I'm kinda into that whole, "Badass, **** with me and die, but all I really want is love," kinda thing.

But then Tali was announced, and well.... As hard as it was, I made my choice fairly quickly. :3

As far as who I usually go with, either Garrus or Tali depending on the character. Why? Because Garrus and Tali are the only two characters who were willing to drop everything to travel with Shepard again and so are the only two I can really see Shepard trusting absolutely. If you want to argue with me on this...well, let's save it for a different point.

As far as which romance I think is best in terms of writing, it's Jack without question. It's the only romance option where it feels like there is a real opening up and a real building of trust. Or to put it another way: it doesn't feel like it was easy (even if it's actually the easiest romance option in the game).

Hmmm. I only play as maleShep so I have no opinion about popping heat sinks or the prize or whatever.

As far as ME2 goes I would probably rank them Miri > Tali > Jack but they are all at least reasonably believable. Miri and Tali are really close though, with Jack only slightly behind.

If you have to throw ME1 into the mix it might blow up everything. Really liked Ash over any ME1 female character, but Tali and Liara both evolved a bit in the second game.

Garrus. Fo sho. Because he's just awesome xD and so adorable during the romance scene.
I tried Thane at first, but his romance scene just seemed... so whiny. And it didn't help that I erupted into laughter at the cheesy line the commander says xD
I got about halfway with Joe before I couldn't take it anymore and went after Garrus. Joe just seemed a little creepy to me, I don't know why xD

I haven't been able to sit through male sheps monotone voice long enough to be with one of the ladies, I just can't help but erupt into a giggle fit.

yeah man, she's so emotionally naive, you get to fully manipulate her into giving up Cerberus and even TIM. imagine the things you could get her to do after you've ****ed with her mind a bit?

Can't say I've thought about it, but does that sound like a "Romance," to you? Lol.

I prefer people who know who they are, and why.

Tsundere for life.

yeah but who really wants to get home from a long day saving the galaxy to have your wife go on and ****in on about her day saving orphaned kids and teaching manners to Batarians?
i'd rather have a stepford wife waiting with a cold beer and a flexible body when i get home from fighting robot Gods.

tie between Miranda (fave moment: the part where she makes you promise not to die on her), Tali (ummm....loyalty mission?) and Garrus (awkwardness at its finest...). ;)

For miranda I agree whole heartly with this, one of my shepards that she is with prefers women like the stepford wifes and miranda fits the bill. I quite liked how you mind **** her and got her to leave cereberus etc.

I also enjoy the Tali romance with the mystery of what she looks like under the mask and suit. Though I'd prefer if they just revealed to us what tali looks like.

Imagine a "cloning machine" in ME3 where Shepard gets to combine the best traits of Miranda and Tali to produce a functional "super squaddie". (all of the sudden, miranda and tali fans suddenly abandon their respective cliche's and unite....BWAHAHAHAHAHA) :P

Ah, your "beer an submissive wife" comment through me off, but it still doesn't sound like fun to me.

Oh well.

Clearly Miranda will become a 1950's TV housewife after Shep marries her, and will spend time baking cookies and vacuuming...

different folks, different strokes I guess. Although Miri and Tali are popular LI's, I guess it won't hurt if Bioware manages to put Tali's personality in Miri's body. >:)

the Tali romance makes my skin crawl. she's so naive about everything and innocent and puts her life on the line just cos she thinks it's what shep wants, that's some sick **** right there.
Miri isn't anywhere near as innocent, she's killed babies for chrissakes, i got no problems turning her naive ass into a 'slave'.

A naive baby killer... There's a character type I haven't seen before. X3

And I wouldn't call Tali naive about everything, sure, she's one of the youngest characters in the squad, which might make her feel like a little kid (And her jumpy idle animation doesn't help.) but in the end she's no more naive than say... Jacob, or either Virmire Survivor.

I don't understand why so many people (Even Tali's "Fans.") treat her like she's a little girl. She's seen death, destruction, had friends die by her side, and enemies die by her hand. Just because she knows how to crack a smile and sound cheerful makes all the fanboys go "Whee! Kawaii darou!" and all the haters go "Ick."

/Rant.

I think it's because when you first meet her she is going through her 'rite of passage to adulthood', and by ME2 it has only been two years since then. Given that human cultures tend to have these 'rites of adulthood' rituals while a teenager, if you add two years to that then in human terms it usually translates to 'barely legal'.

Though, I don't see her so much as childish as nervous, a little nerdy, and selfless to a fault. My rational for Shepard hooking up with her is that, in addition to the above, she's the only woman he could really trust. I mean, Miranda is a Cerberus cheerleader, Jack is a sociopath (even with the romance adding a surprising and commendable amount of depth, realistically one person genuinely loving her is not going to fix a decades old mental defect), and in the case of ME1 relationships:

Ashley - Based on Horizon conversation clearly no longer trusts Shepard further than she can throw him
Liara - Is willing to go on what some would call a suicide mission to fulfill a revenge fantasy, but NOT go on the suicide mission that would actually help others.

naive enough to give up everything she lived for so easily and cold enough to argue for Cerberus against Jack, that's one ****ed up chick and ripe for the plucking.

Tali is just a kid. yeah she's seen some **** but she aint no Kal Reegor is she? most of her experience seems to of come by way of her influential father, which puts her in the category of spoiled rich kid over battle hardened woman, don't you think?

Ash/Kaiden are boring cyphers, neither of which add anything good to the emotional depth of ME. sure, you may think me wanting a deranged stepford wife for my shep is shallow but shep and Miri and their ensuing interactions have more depth than both the weak VS put together and timesed by 10.

as for Liara, don't get me started. most of my sheps have loved the **** outta her and not being given a choice to gun her down when she just ignores you when you meet up again is ME's biggest flaw to date. that and this multiplayer bollox.

You're right, she isn't some space marine stereotype, she was his commander. She was fending off Shadow Broker Agents with grenades when we found her, and was with Shep (Because the game treats it as though all party members are with Shepard for each story encounter.) side by side through Geth, husks, the Thorian, Saren, Sovereign, and God knows what she saw during the two years Shep was dead. Haven't even touched ME2 yet.

Not everyone who has been through hell has to show it in their personality; you can be a badass without being a Zaeed. And no, I wouldn't call her either spoiled, or rich, considering she's far too familiar with combat and labor to be spoiled, and quarians don't have much money to begin with. Not to mention she makes it quite clear that, just because she's an Admiral's daughter, she doesn't get treated like royalty.

Ash might be a bit of a tsundere stereotype, but Kaidan's story was at least, refreshing; poor kid who's the offspring of an "Accident" involving eezo is shipped off to a hell on earth boot camp to train powers that only cause him pain. (The migraines,) His past involving Rana and him killing that ass of a turian, combined with the above statements to me, makes a compelling, but still realistic character.

Far more to me than Miranda; who quite literally was a spoiled rich girl up until she ran away from home 'cause of some daddy issues.

And I liked Liara, little bookworm type that gets her heart stolen by a potentially dashing commander, only to lose him/her, and then go through hell with the Collectors, the Broker and Cerberus to help bring him/her back to life. Why you'd want to gun someone like that down is beyond me.

And as a side note; multiplayer is optional, and not for everyone, but I'd hardly say its "Bolloxing" up anything. Don't know if you've been reading Casey Hudson's tweets, but it sounds solid to me.

Samara, because she turns down Shep for her own reasons and remains true to herself... or Morinth, because it removes stupid Shep's genes from the human genome. Both are great outcomes.
