I attribute that effect to the deeproads, but I know how you feel.PresidentCowboy wrote...

Darkspawn Chronicles. Golems of Am-whatever. No, Origins DLC was not better.foil- wrote...
I liked DA2 but can't say that the DLC exceeds Origins DLC for me.
Origins DLC was dreadful and such a chore to play through that it makes the idea of playing through Origins again horrifying to me.
I've enjoyed Legacy and Mark of the Assassin

A bit late guys, but do you think Mark of the assassin is worth the money/points for the 360? Just need a short answer with pro's and con's since everyone I know says it's wayy too short. :/

Hard to answer. As a stand alone adventure it is not worth how much it costs. No way. You can probably get full games on XBLA that would give you better gameplay hours per dollar. If you're a completionist then it might be worth picking up. Each companion has two quests to complete which each grant an item specific to that companion (they do not level with the character so it's best to save for late in the game). You only get to do it once per play through of the regular game. The mileage you get out of it depends entirely on how many times you play through the regular campaign.

Generally, how many lengthy are the DA2 DLCs?

Thanks for the answer, that's all I needed to know really. I really want to play it and MOTA is the only DLC I need to finish the achievements so it was tempting, but hey, I play games for fun not achievements. I think I may just wait until it drops in price or is discounted, since It is fairly short in comparison to other DLC's and marketplace content.ticklefist wrote...

Not sure about Mark of the Assassin, people say only a couple of hours long, maybe another playthrough to make sure you get all of the achievements. But Legacy was quite worth it. A few hours long, nothing you can't do one afternoon, but it took me a couple of days since I started it one night and finished it the next day.HeroxMatt wrote...

Never played the DAO dlc So I can't really compare. I absolutely loved mark of the assassin and there was one thing that kept it all together. Tallis. She had an amazing voice actor which actually showed some sort of an emotion (Yes, I'm looking at you Hawke). Honestly surely he could sounded a bit more upset when his mum dies? I was just annoyed that I couldn't keep her as a companion as It would of kicked out Isabela of my party for a quick power hitter.
Their are a more variety in environments which is a good thing as I get a break from Kirkwall. The forests and caverns provide more visual contrast than the repeated dungeons of the original game. In fact, button prompts call attention to the scenery in multiple spots, as if BioWare wanted to point out how much lovelier these places are than the old ones. Not that Dragon Age II is suddenly a looker, but the environments are diverse.

Both of the DLC addressed some of the problems the main game had in my opinon, mainly having areas that don't repeat and how enemy waves are handled are much better than in the main game. If the DLCs are an indication than the franchise is headed back into the right direction.

I played Mark of the Assassin dlc for the first time last night, surprisingly I actually really enjoyed it... I had expected it to be more of the same brown and grey surroundings so I was pleasantly surprised to find the whole thing was lush green scenery, brightly coloured costumes and aesthetically reminiscent of DA:O's scenery.
I think it was the first time during the whole game where I really enjoyed myself, there was plenty of witty banter and I even found myself growing attached to my smart mouthed male Hawke. I was genuinely laughing out loud in places, especially upon meeting the transvestite Elf at the party... hell even Ander's was in a lighter mood than usual, cracking jokes and being friendly towards the other party members. Tallis was a fun little character, although it was a shame we couldn't keep her as a permanent companion though. The boss fight was incredibly well done too, better than any of the fights we experience during the main game because the MotA boss fight makes use of it's surroundings and makes it a part of the fight sequence.
It's a pity the main game isn't more like this really, Ah well, here's hoping they sort it out in DA3... though I'm rapidly losing hope if the ME3 endings are anything to go by.
