Recently I checked the websites of Dicksmith Electronics and Noel Leeming to see the exact price of DA:O. Unfortuantely I could not find the game, although MW2, and L4D2 was on there. If there are New Zealanders on this social site, who intends get this on retail could you reply ? Thanks fpr your help.

Yes... yes indeed, and we have some local jokes for it as well.

Hehehe. He's one of Australia's biggest philanthropists, he also makes matches called d**k heads which is my personal favourite.

I can't imagine why New Zealand Dicksmiths wouldn't get the game, as I'm pretty sure our (Australian) stores are getting them.

I checked on their website under pre releases, I can't see it on there, even though I saw Modern Warfare 2 and L4D2. I think I will check it out personally on release date.

I imagine they would be similar, if not the same in price, to what EB sells it for. Dicksmiths aren't exactly known for their bargains. Check the EB site out.

Will do.

Edit: it's on their, and the price is already making me squeamish.

I'm getting mine from EB games and as death_knight250 said the prices will probably be about the same there as any other store. I checked on the status of my preorder yesterday and they told me it is due on the 6th. Which is pretty rough seeing that's Friday and we normally get our releases Thursday.

Yeah, EB is my normal way to go, with Mighty Ape as a backup...sometimes they're cheaper. DS isn't the best place for games, that's for sure.

EDIT: @lizardglenn - yes, we have both EB and online retailers. Of course, NZ has crappy internet, which makes true digital distribution damn annoying for some. It's either high speeds + low bandwidth caps or high caps + low speeds, unless you're lucky enough to live in a fibre area or really close to an exchange. -_-
Hence, the use of EB. :D

I personally ordered from Gamesman. It was 10 dollars cheaper than Mighty Ape and has more bonuses than all other retailers in NZ. I'm talking about CE though.

Try xnet. It's simply win for its affordability, customisable bandwidth and relatively reliable speed. Orcon also offers high speed and high caps.. with enough money.

Hm, is this thread going off topic or what.

Not really. Although buying games retail in New Zealand is a big investment. You either have to wait months for a price drop, or rent it out. I am only buying two games this year.

It's funny you should mention the price, we've started getting some really high PC games come through as well. Which is bizarre, since games seemed to be cheaper when the AU was weaker.

Death_Knight250 : No it does not. :-) It's been years and I still laugh and yell out and point when I see them.

A lot of things are shipped from AUS to NZ which i found strange at times when i did some air & seafrieght work around a decade ago which would add to the price for you guys & i knew there were still high price low speed/cap issues there for the net (19yo daughter 2yo grandson in Hamilton)
