I made a script using SetMovementRateFactor() to try to change the Player's movement rate during a conversation. The rate does not change until the conversation is over.  I tried switching to the function EffectMovementRateDecrease() with similar results.  Does anyone know of a way to apply effects or change movement rates in conversation or does this only happen out of conversation.

Could you terminate the conversation the script start another.

The change of rate would occur at the conversation transititon?

Just a thought,

Do you have to issue a new move command?

thanks for the idea PJ.  I tried it though and even If I add the effect before the convo, the movement rate seems to go back to normal during the convo.

I changed the movement rate prior to issuing the move command, but I haven't checked the ga_cutscene_move script.  That may be it.
