Eh, I'm beginning to believe Blizzard best days are behind it. Only downhill from here on till Kotick closes the places down.

QUESTION: Where are the LGBT characters in WoW Lore?
ANSWER : Everything is gravy as long as its just a great character. There is the possiblity of adding them, as long as the story is compelling, might see it in the future.

But this is just my guess.

If Blizzard caves in to this, transgenders will be next, mark my words. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you can't take one without the other; as complaints against DA2 DLC Mark of the Assassin has already shown.

Bullsh*t. Shove your agenda up your ass. I'm absolutely sick of people thinking they should govern creativity.

Interesting interpretation. I see it more as "Hi, I'm a fan and a player, and I have a concern."Carfax wrote...

Just like the fans/players on the BSN have and address their concerns about all manner of things from armor to agency to retcons to price of the DLCs. Who addresses the concern does not make it any less legitimate. And personally, I see nothing wrong with the question on character availability being asked.

Who the f*ck cares what a character's sexuality is? I used to want this, until it became a blatant agenda for some. It's like attack of the focus groups. Include this or else..

It's the gays. I mean, I don't care if characters are gay or straight as long as they're straight, so it's definitely the gays.

If you meant that Seinfeld reference then I applaud you.
I miss when games were about punching ginger thugs in the face, not about bending over backwards to appease every moaner out there.

And there's nothing wrong with a fan voicing their concern/wants to the developer. However, you have to admit that homosexuality is also a social issue with political ramifications. As evident by gay rights groups that aggressively promote the inclusion of homosexuality in all forms of media, education etc..
The movie Avatar was a good example of this. Certain gay rights groups accused Avatar of being anti-gay, because there were no apparent gays in the movie
It's this sort of thing that angers so many people, and this is why it's causing such a cluster *censored* on the WoW forums..

There are plenty of social concerns that are raised to developers, sure. But I believe what occured at Blizzcon was a fan/player asking a simple question. That does not equate any "aggressive" promotion or demands for inclusion. It's a question. From a fan. From a player. From a player who may be gay, yes.Carfax wrote...

Haven't not seen Avatar, nor having any desire to, I can't comment on what was or wasn't included in the movie, nor can I comment on the impetus behind any protests or accusations.
But, regarding the inclusion of LGBT characters in games, if no one asks the question, how will the developers be aware and/or certain that there is a concern?

Didn't you know? Whenever a LGBT person speaks, it's purely to satisfy innate attention seeking urges.
Personally, I was fairly curious about that topic myself, though given the shoddy bundle of simplistic tropes Blizzard passes off as character development these days, part of me hopes they never get around to it. I'm sure it'd be enlightening to see how they imagine LGBT people behave, but I doubt it'd be entertaining.
(Oh, this topic'll be fun)

Yesss... we shall sweep across the Earth in such numbers there will be no game, movie, show, or home where our presence cannot be felt. The skies will burn. The seas will boil. The tears of fretful infants will flow without end. Life will never be the same. Muwahahahaha!
Or, you know, it won't happen at all. I wish I had half the faith in game developers some of you seem to. A transgender character in WoW? Laughable. Blizzard is one of the more regressive mainstream developers out there. Not the worst, but hardly as forward as you give them credit for.

It may have started out as a simple question, but it invariably got blown out of proportion due to the politicization of homosexuality.
You have people/factions that are in favor of the promotion and inclusion of homosexuality throughout all aspects of Society, and then there are those people/organizations that are diametrically opposed to anything relating to homosexuality.....as well as those in the middle, that neither stand in favor of, or against it.
Thats just the reality of the situation, and the discussion over at WoW forums is just a symptom of a much greater issue.
The ironic thing though is that according to some forum posters, WoW does feature gay characters.. They just aren't out and proud about it.
But, regarding the inclusion of LGBT characters in games, if no one asks the question, how will the developers be aware and/or certain that there is a concern?
If Blizzard has one iota of common sense about them, they won't base their policies on the concerns of a small group of players.....like Bioware. Homosexuality is something that is potentially combustible here in the U.S, as there is a deep divide when it comes to accepting it.

I've never played Wow, nor do I ever intend to, but some people might say that certain races in Wow already appear to be fairly androgynous.

Blizzard is hurting right now people are jumping ship they tried to do the pushy the developer knows best like Bioware did with Dragon Age 2 but I look at the figures Blizzard cannot afford an expansion with controversial features. Cata they focused on a minority of people who liked to be Hardcore and lost if they do what Bioware did well they might as well kiss themselves behind.
I think Dragon Age 2 with it's forced gay theme was an experiment as if they can get away with it. It caused a lot of problems but focusing on this feature and forcing it in there can cause a huge problem. A lot of developers have had gay content in game like Bioware but it seems people want something like Dragon Age II where its forced unlike Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire were it was optonal.
