Hi all :)

The standard edition is $20 less, and you also get a $10 bonus credit:
http://www.amazon.co...ttpbetterand-20

But with all the extras in the CE, do you think this is still better?

It all depends on how much of a Mass Effect or Collector's Eddition fan you are. For me personally, I'm getting the collector's edditon because I'm a fan of Mass Effect. It's only $20 more, it not like $50 or $60 more. So, if I were you, I would go get the Collector's.

I'm going with the standard. Who wants N7 gear anyway? My Shepard isn't Alliance anymore.

If these are indeed  the only 2 versions of the game we get to chose from, I'd be reluctantly getting the CE.

A pre-order bonus version with only the in-game useable items would be ideal, without the extra frills.
As I understand it they have confirmed this wont be the case, but doesn't hurt to be hopeful!
Gonna wait a while to order it in any case.

Collector's edition comes with extra stuff I'd probably buy at some point or another anyway.  For a fantard like me, I'm saving money.

CE all the way, baby. They're giving away a lot of extras for just twenty bucks IMO.

Standard, as I can't say I'm particularly charmed by the extras in the Collector's Edition. If anything, it needs more physical junk to justify that price, or at the very least a Cerberus patch as well.

I wish ME2 would have had DLC, or a built in option, to replace the N7 decals on Shepard's armor with Cerberus emblems. As well an option to have no decals at all.

I'd have loved that option.

That would have been excellent.

The CE is a steal at that price. No questions asked, CE all the way for me.

I bought the Collectors edition of ME2 and really didn't see the extra money I spent worth it. So I'll probably get the standard, if at all. I don't like buying special additions if its just a waste of my money. I want something to make it worth it. Art books or digital b.s. isn't enough for me.

sigh, your posts are painful to read. To be honest it's not hard to spell properly, all you have to do is look around at how everyone else is spelling. Not hard.

Well I, for one, love the hell out of art books. And that's just the tip of the iceberg for me. :)

...actually, let me rephrase that. It's the main portion of the iceberg. >_>

Everything else sounds like icing. But art books and I go way back. I can't draw a circle to save my life but I can oogle the heck outta artwork.

So can I, but I don't see the point of spending an extra $20 on something I can search up online.

Ah, fair enough. Well it's funny, I'm kind of anti-materialism in a lot of ways but when it comes to my most beloved passions (Star Trek, Mass Effect... um, several other space operas, heh) I vastly prefer something physical. The feeling of paper on my fingertips is priceless compared to staring at a transient computer screen. I get much giddier over that paper, dead trees or not. :(

I don't usually buy the Collector's Edition of anything, but ME3 is a special occassion. It's wrapping up one of my favorite series of this generation and I want all I can get of it.

Don't forget the smell of printed paper.... I LOVE that about my books.... yes... yes I actually sniff my books when I read them. :?

As to the question... most games I get standard... but for series that I love (like ME).. I get the collector's whenever I can.
