Is it true New Vegas had substantially more problems with bugs than Fallout 3? If so, why?
18 month development schedule vs 3 years for Fallout 3 + Obsidian gonna Obsidian.
It's actually pretty stable now though, the biggest problems were all at release. It's probably more stable than F3 or Oblivion now.

And why is Obsidian held up on such a high horse? Kotor 2 was just a direct half assed copy of KOTOR, and in the case of Fallout New Vegas the Marching orders came down from Bethseda.

There were some hints about Denver/Salt Lake City in Honest Hearts, so that's a possibility, if Obsidian gets another bone thrown to them.
I think Salt Lake City is just a ruin now - the Mormons from Vault 70 refounded it as New Jerusalem, but it was sacked by tribals and raiders and resulted in them moving to Ogden and founding New Canaan. Which is, of course, also a ruin now. They just can't catch a break.
Denver would be interesting, I know it was supposed to be a fairly major location in the old Black Isle FO3. I don't how much of the game would be relevant now the New Vegas is set twenty-odd years after it and pretty much taken its place, but there's a lot of interesting content from it. It covered a pretty big swath of territory, from Hoover Dam up to Utah and out east to Los Alamos and everything in between, so there's still tons of potential in that region.
Seattle would be an excellent location to visit, I think, and the city as it is has a lot of that retro-futuristic art deco architecture that the series thrives on (Space Needle, anybody?). And this is just blind provincialism on my part but I'd also like to see Texas in a future game.

In Fallout 1 and 2 you are ejected from your community in order for you to go on a quest to save it, so maybe the goal of Fallout 4 could be to save (or not to save) your community of Enclave survivors somewhere in the Northeast.
New Features:
I want the ability to repaint power armor. (Stop shooting at me NCR troopers! I'm not with the Brotherhood, I massacred them!)
A more intelligent reputation system. (Who is going to tell a faction that I betrayed them if I kill all the witnesses?)
Attachments for unique weapons. (Not being able to put a scope on my AER14 vexed me to no end.)
*edit: pulse and plasma grenade launchers available in gun runners aresnal*
Bring back dynamic armor specifications.

Well from all accounts Seagloom you'll get your wish, minus it will be Bethseda as the dev. But they have grabbed some of the guys who worked on the older fallouts in its ranks now, so they should do a good job (not that I seen anything wrong with fallout 3 myself.)
How so? Continuity with New Vegas would be great. I would like to see a direct sequel. That's moot if Bethesda develops, though. While Fallout 3 did show an improvement over the Elder Scrolls games in terms of plotting and characterization, it was still leagues behind Obsidian. Besides, they have Tim Cain working there now. If there is anyone that gets Fallout more than J.E. Sawyer, it's him.

Chris Avellone tweeted recently that Obsidian will be working on a few RPGs using their own engine (Onyx).
If memory serves correctly, Todd Howard mentioned in an interview a few months ago that they plan to use the Creation Engine for the next Fallout game.
This would suggest it is unlikely that Obsidian will develop it, since development on this game has likely already begun.

Thanks for the clarification. That's why I asked "how so?" in my earlier post. If Obsidian is not developing, I'm not really getting my wish granted how I'd like. It's a like a monkey paw. My wish is granted while somehow being all wrong.

since i think it would be cool to see what became of the real south and the Disney-esk/universal-esk parks and if there was any contact with cuba at this point, and imagine the freaks the area could have.

There's a difference between engine development and development using the engine, though.

From what I gather, the Onyx engine has already been developed and Avellone's tweet was referring to "what's next for Obsidian."

Onyx was the engine they used to develop Dungeon Siege III.

I imagine you will need to get your fix from some promising upcoming indie games like Dead State.

I'll probably buy it anyway. With my expectations lowered accordingly.
On the bright side, Bethesda's picked up some writers and designers since Fallout 3, and at least Fallout 3's design and writing are better than Oblivion's! Course, we'll get to see if those new writers/designers made any difference three weeks from now anyways.

I actually hope the next Fallout moves to another location, like Canada or Mexico. While they're both foreign countries, they're all similar to our own culture. That, and they have an interesting relationship with the U.S. in the Fallout universe. Canada was annexed by the U.S. and Mexico was invaded. Let's not forget that the NCR is occupying Baja.
I could see it happening in Canada but not Mexico. I don't think Mexico would be very popular...and I admit that I don't care much for it either.

Well from what I understand they bought the IP so they could alternate doing TES and Fallout games themselves. Even if they do develop FO4 I hope they allow Obsidian to do another side game using the new engine.KenKenpachi wrote...
And according to most sources, that is being done by Bethseda.
