Yesterday I was attempting, for the second time, to beat Duke Prosper in what I assume is the final MoTA boss fight. This is on Nightmare, and others who did this on Nightmare know it is a bit of grind and takes quite a while.

Toward the end of the fight, I was down to having just Tallis left. But it was the stage of the fight where the Wyvern was ramming into the wall and getting stuck, so I managed to whittle the Wyvern Prosper down to just an inch of health.

My girlfriend was watching and said, "I hope nothing goes wrong now." And I haughtily replied, "Nuh, nothing can go wrong now" because a few more hits and the enemy would be down! But I needed to get the Wyvern stuck again and I thought that I was too close to the edge of the rocky area, so I turned around and started running in the other direction and . . . BAM we ran into each other and Tallis was one-shotted!

Aw, poor you! Nightmare mode is a hard mistress, indeed.

Have a cookie!

Thanks, but I'll eat it as a celebration cookie because I beat it on my next go. Satisfying!

Believe it or not, I can beat that. I spent lord knows how long whittling down Prosper's health in this battle on my second attempt, slowly, slowly, slowly winning, and when the end finally came it transitioned to the cut scene where - oh, no wait. Instead of transitioning the screen said loading, an error message popped up, and my whole computer froze, necessitating a reboot.

So yeah, that was horrible. I had to redo the fight all over again! I set the difficulty to Casual and beat him in about 7 minutes. I guess it's cheating but I *know* that I can beat him normally so this was just a way of getting to the end of the fight.

But for about five minutes, ugh what a horrible feeling I had in the pit of my stomach.
