So happy it's losing to Arkham City right now.

But it's still a great game and I am going to buy a PS3 just for this game.

Remember that U3 is Playstation exclusive, so you'll have to compare it between the two of them.

Yeah this. Comparing a game between a multiplatform with a console exclusice is certainly the right way to go.

But anyway, U3 is in the store for me tomorrow!! Just have to grab it after work.:bandit:

I read on VGChartz that U3 would be on 8th place of 50 most pre ordered games. That's kinda cool considering it's PS3 exclusive:O

I'm considering catching VGA playing this midnight release like I did with Batman AC. I won't be able to get this game right away so this might be how I catch it until I can.

Meh, BF3 beats U3 any time.

"Drake's Fortune had half the graphics, Among Thieves had half the graphics. Uncharted 3 has both, and Battlefield 3 has nothing!"

:P

We shall see when the game's finally out.

I've experienced up to Chapter 10 of the game...and it's made a believer out of me.

You'll know by the first half-hour of the game that naughty dog didn't want "just another drake adventure". Although most of the mechanics have stayed about the same outside of the enchanced melee, the amount of refinement on the fluidity of the animations is downright incredible. The stellar writing via Ms. Hennig stays true to the series and does a fantastic dance between the cliche concepts of adventure, and realistic personalities, It absolutely has to be played for those who own a PS3.

To be honest, I wasn't a fan of the series until recently. I'd tried the 2nd one - as much as I loved the graphical side of it, the storyline didn't grab me as it should have. On the other hand, I never played the first until a few days ago, and I think it may have been detachment from the characters that caused it.

I can't really describe much else about this game without greatly spoiling the events taking place, but I can say this: If you weren't grabbed by the first 2, this may very well do the job.

I agree with you on this. It's like everything new what U2 introduced has now been polished and runs with a certain smoothness that is highly addictive, in both hand-to-hand combat and when using guns. Both SP and MP. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I'm pretty sure this game will keep me playing for months to come.

I'm kind of annoyed by the changes to the character animations. I keep stumbling every time there's a slope, Drake looks retarded when he's running, and it's nearly impossible to go through a straight line. All the small gaps you have to go through slow the game down considerably...it seems like there's an overabundance of them. Oh, and wtf is with Elena's face? She now looks like a cat woman...with her gigantic grin and slanty eyes...it's kinda creeping me out.

The combat is kind of frustrating me as well. Enemy AI is pretty bad...they keep running around like crazy, cant focus on anyone because they'll run to a cover, take a few shots, run 5 feet away, turn around, run back, take cover where they're showing for about half a second, stand up, run away, etc. Add in that they're all wearing suits, and I'm fully expecting there to be a part in the story where I come across a computer that says "Nate, the Matrix has you..."

As far as the story goes...so far so good. I'm not liking how they've been ignoring Elena even existed...and then all of the sudden she's back and wearing a wedding ring, etc. All the "Nate, you're obsessed!" "No I'm not" "oh, ok, lets go find the treasure" stuff is feeling a little...flimsy. Other than those 2 complaints...loving it.

Overall, great game. Loving it...HOWEVER, like most other "perfect" or "near perfect" games this holiday season, I'm seeing an abundance of flaws. So far, I enjoyed UC2 more...but we'll see as I progress beyond chapter 10.

Agreed with most part, except this.

I wouldn't say that the AI are bad. They are actually better than many games (e.g Deus Ex, Batman). Now they aren't some mindless guys who stays behind cover all the time until they are dead. They move around a lot more, act more strateticaly, and proves to be a challenge. And they aren't some hearless guy who doesn't notice anything even if you kill one of their team mates right in front of them. And about guys wearing suits, well, at least I prefer suits than guys in T-shirts. They guys in suits could have bullet proof vests on them (if you like to think so). Pirates running around in T-shirst sure was more believable.

Yup, I agree.

I haven't gotten the change to play far except the 4 first chapters, but simply from those acts you can easily guess that just like the story in the previous two games, it encompasses many of the same tropes as before--with things like camaraderie, deception, story twists, and so forth. However much I migh enjoy the story in the previous games, I'm not blind to see that the plot of Uncharted series have neevr been one of it'ss trong points. Instead, it's the realistic potrayal of the many different characters and their animations, their constant snide jokes to each other and the discussions as a whole that makes the tale an enjoyable flavour, that just makes you care of the characters and the story.

For example the relationship between Drake and Sully, who constantly are on each other with their playful dialogue, which makes them very realistic IMO. And for what I've seen from the trailers, with threats and heated tensions between the two of them, it just simply proves hove easy it makes oneself to become invested in their struggles.

Good question. if you thought the elves in DA2 were weird... I eventually got used to it, but it did make me wonder what happened.

I've nearly beaten the game, and can say confidently that this feels like the best of both worlds. Another note I'll put in: I like the melee combat system they've got going, the animation looks pretty slick. It'd be nice to be able to turn off the context prompts, though. Sort of the same way arkham city does that in New Game+.

There's at least 10 good moments I can say where you'll tell yourself "Is this really happening?!". It's not an assortment of set pieces, it's insanity.

Their storylines are great, but not mind-blowing. Without revealing anything, I can say that's also had a huge improvement in 3. Not enough to require enormous wikis online, but a big improvement.

I so wish I could play this but my PS3's blu-ray drive died last week and I need to get it repaired first.
^ True, I actually didn't recognize Elena in the trailers.

Thanks for the review.  I never really got into the first two either and wondered if the 3rd was worth trying.

No problem. It may not be the most innovative game, but it will give you countless moments due to either combat, or insane set pieces that will keep you breathing, holding your controller for dear life as the adventure goes on. Also, hard mode is hard. Really hard. Not demon souls bad, but it will give you a serious challenge.

They morphed her nose(smaller) and her Chin (More thin) .. Her mouth is also smaller and her Lips more bumpy. Also those 3 image are taken in 3 different place with different lightning.

I think she look less serious in the last installment . Kind of girl that you normally see in cliched Hollywood teen movie .

She gave her a much 'effeminate look' . i think she was much more gorgeous in Uncharted 2 .. She look too much like an anorexic top models

So far, I'm totally digging this game (and it looks amazing in 3D), but what is up with character movement? The walking animations are ok, but the running animations look really weird; especially if the characters are on steps. I was in one place last night in Yemen, following Elena up and down steps, and she looked ridiculous. It was like the animators just took the walking animation and sped it up or something.

END GAME SPOILERS

Just beat it...wow am I let down by the ending. Sully gets shot and then it turns out Drake was just hallucinating? How exactly did Sully get so far ahead of Drake? Why was he standing around doing nothing in some tower while I was getting my ass sniped by people right outside his door?

I still didn't appreciate the "You're reckless" "no I'm not" "ok, lets go forward" method of story telling. Chloe, Sully, and Elena all tell you to let it go...but then actively encourage you once the cutscene ends. There were a lot of dead end conversations like that...where someone brought up something, and then seemed to forget about it 10 seconds later.

The melee combat was pretty cool, but ultimately ended up frustrating me. Enemies would continuously run up to me without taking cover of any sort...and I would have to figure out quickly if they were coming to punch me or run behind me and start shooting me. Honestly...enemy AI was miserable this time around.

They cut back drastically on the puzzles and stealth. There were only really a handful of puzzles, and none stuck out as particularly difficult. The answers were basically handed to you, and didn't require any real thinking at all. As far as stealth...there were only about 3 or 4 places that encouraged any kind of stealth play...let alone an entire section of it.

The other place the game let me down was the platforming sections. While they've always been linear, there were a number of places that didn't make much sense. The one that sticks out to me the most is on the Pirate ship. After it has turned to its side, you go through the ballroom by climbing around on the chandelier. I actually had to cheat and look up online what I was supposed to be doing. For some reason, it has you jump onto a short, red rope in the middle of the chandelier...which is holding the bottom piece on. In the set, it causes the bottom to fall off and protects you from the gigantic fall. However...I'm sitting there looking around...because wtf would I jump into the middle of this? Made as much sense to just jump off the dang thing to begin with.

Oh, and how is it that the glass ceiling can stand having a chandler rammed into it repeatedly, but then gets shot twice and THEN it starts leaking?
