This happened after a week or so of the server running just fine... running on ubuntu with haks, any ideas?

Nothing changed... we had the PRC working for a week, then this. No new module or hak updates at all in that time.

Tried deleting the prc_datac2.* files from database folder as I read on another forum they can become corrupted. That got rid of this issue:

I have to go with Fester on this one, Jenna. The PRC is buggy at best, doesn't play well with others, and as you now know, takes forever to set up to work. Even if you do manage to iron out all the problems with the system, its still going to lag out your server when 5+ players and a DM are on. That is why most servers do not use it, and no one can really help you get it going, we gave up on it long ago.

lol.. Not after we spent so much time putting it in, FP.
So far we're not seeing much lag, but I have a good ISP right now. Our server cap is 30 anyhow and we're happier with a small server, not looking for a huge community here. Also, Alex Warren helped us set it up.

Just a thought - from someone that knows nothing about servers...
Since the crash occurs when you load the 2da cache, could a bad 2da file be causing the crash?

This was caused by corrupted database file (one with 2da cache in it).

Thanks Alex, any ideas on how to keep it from corrupting in the future?
And lately we've have 10+ players on every day, and no one reports lag from any thing except my high poly tilesets

Well, I tell you my experiences with PRC. Though it was older version, some bugs might be fixed but since each version added more and more stuff there definitely be new ones.
It ran great from the start too, but then players started to explore the new classes and stuff. First we had to disable rakshasa, pixie and ogre races as those were totally imbalanced in our *high magic* environment. Then we had to disable all Psionic classes as we found out that their psionic abilities are not just totally imbalanced but they are breaking a game. For example one dispell dispelled every magical abilities from all items on character. So imagine what happened when player A casted it on player B. Then there was continuous invisibility spell which re-activated invisibility every X seconds if the character lost it (due to hostile action) - that allowed to attack and not being attacked. Also there was some more powerfull timestop IIRC. And a soulknife that could also improve his weapon like samurai could... We disabled them all. Then we have found that samurais can add into their katana properties like vorpal or +10 enhancement bonus. Then we have found that Runecaster (or something like that) can make a runes that allows to cast any cleric spell BUT with the original DC of caster. So players was able to make runes of Implode with DC 50+ and then use these runes with their other characters. Then we have found that Soul Eater can kill any our boss via his draining attack, so our bosses get immunity to everything in the end. Then player found an alternative for lich, Baelnorn (we didnt cared anymore). And then they have found an ultimate way how to play. One group of player created from one location deep in wood a teleport station where they created a trap-like teleports which allowed fast transfer between ALL THE WORLD!
+ engine limitation that made some classes absolutely unusable (like special attack workaround for ninja/tempest which wasnt working very well)

Uh...you put the whole thing in without looking it over first? That's asking for trouble...some things have slipped in (the various PRC changes to spells for instance that we are fixing in the next update), but we spent months looking over and testing stuff (only allowing so and so feats, classes, races, etc). The players have shown a few things that could be abused and most are on the fix list. It sounds like you weren't quite prepared for what you are tossing in, the PRC has a lot of content and it is not balanced against itself or base NWN by any means.
I'm also not sure the bug we keep hitting is from just the PRC or the mix of our own haks, PRC and CEP. We did seem to hit it again today and I have no clue how as nothing has really changed since it was fixed last time. Very finicky. NWN that is, not just the PRC lol.
