Hi folks

We have a great community here at BioWare, but we're always looking for new ideas and ways to improve. To that end, I'm asking what otehr communities do you regularly visit and/or hang out at and why?

They can be video game based (I hang out at the Escapist  from time to time) or not (I also like the Top Gear website for example). I like these places for different reasons. I like how the Escapists forums and websites unlock "achievements" and badges for activity. And I liek how the Top Gear site provides information for it's fans through videos, blogs, etc,

So where do you like to visit? The only sites you can exclude are Facebook and Twitter. Let me know what you liek and why you like it. :)

BSN is to me:
a community of people like i
tons of trolls flaming wars to watch and just laugh about
people having debates and converistation from interesting to creepy
Its a pretty fun place to chill, hang and waste time

Pretty much only Obsidian and Larian forums. I used to be a moderator and/or member on some other game-related forums in the past, but those all died.

I rarely check up my Facebook account, to see if someone from my family has sent me something or not. other than that, I was once on Tribalwars (strategy online game).
BSN is my Major Community.

If online, just here, the Otaku Army, its an anime forum pratically dead, Mandalorian Mercs I lurk at time to time.

But thats it, I used to go to RPG forums and the old closed Tech TV forum, but I don't see that going well here.

But yes, add a custom avatar option please?

Several pro sports team forums. This is the only game forum I hang out in. This community is pretty good but two things stand out that are not good in my opinion. 1) Poor searching capabilities. 2) Poor trouble maker reporting and banning capabilities. You need to either up the number of moderators you have significantly or find a better, quicker reporting process for bad behavior.

The featured projects part of the site was very much wasted as it never got updated and anything worthwile custom content, module, art work etc just often went by the wayside.

Facebook, Twitter, Bethesda forums, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Steam, XBL. I like the layout over at Bethesda. I also like being able to connect with friends and give status updates. I also like being able to make custom avatars and have a small signature area.

Only this site really. I don't even facebook/twitter. The only other one I visit (and not as much as I used to) is GameFaqs. Mostly to look up walkthroughs/hints/advice on non-bioware games.

Bethesda's forum has some nice features. You can easily make custom avatars, you get a multiquote button, and we get a list at the bottom of each forum/thread telling us who is on.

The GTA Forum is okay, but the layout isn't as good as this site.

A feature this site really needs is finding your posts. When you click on your posts in recent activity it doesn't actually take you to your post, just the most recent one in the thread. This makes finding if people responded to you rather difficult in fast moving threads.

Bethesda forum or Steam.

I agree with Beerfish's comment about the reporting system. I think the one you currently have is very convenient, but I was told that it sends a report to EA and the only way to notify Bioware mods about a spambot or spam-person is to send a private message to Stanley (or another moderator).

SWTOR has recently had my attention, as well as my continued citizenship as part of The World of Aenea; the NWN1 PW community. This is about as social as this Ancient Anti-Social One gets these days; same snarky poster, but with wings at both sites!

Pretty much just this one. I don't know what counts as a community, but I go on Youtube/Fanfiction/Devianart with some frequency.

I signed up to the forums for Saint's Row, but... you can really see the difference between that site and BSN. Lol, I prefer it here.

I occasionally drop by the forums on Steam, Gaia Online and GOG. I rarely post in the forums for Blistered Thumbs, TGWTG, and The Spoony Experiment. I prefer to only go to those sites to watch reviews.
Anymore I pretty much just hang around BSN though XD

I hang out at South Park Forums and SWTOR. I like the fact at South Park forums you can rank your favorite episodes, I guess I'd like to see ranking favorite games and/or characters.

I spend a huge amount of time on the Starcraft 2 forums trying to stay updated on the latest news and stuff. Also the Team Liquid forums get some time. Except i spend time with the BSN and the FemShep community most <3

Mostly just the BSN now. I used to spend most of my forum time over on the TOR boards but they got rid of the OT section and I'd rather watch paint dry than read people whine about everything they possibly can in General Discussion.

Why did I like the TOR forums so much? The OT was so much fun. Friendly place where you could discuss anything and be a little silly without it turning into 4chan. The OT here doesn't have the same tight-knit community feeling to it or maybe I just haven't posted enough here.

I've been around - IGN, Yuku (or ezboard as it was called back in the day), MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, some Zelda fansites, some conspiracy theory websites (oh what fun those are), some image boards - you name it, I've probably been to it at one time or another.

Of course, the only place I really hang around now is this place. Got a nice little community going here - I'll be sure to stick around for a while.

GameFAQs. I've been there since 1999. My current account dates back to the middle of 2004. Its forums tout an incredibly simple layout -- archaic by most standards. We just recently gained the ability to edit our posts, for example, and avatars are not on the menu. But I love it all the same. And I love to help people and by virtue of what the site represents there's a lot of that going on. And I've met some amazing people there too.

TrekBBS. There are more Star Trek fan communities on the internet than there are Borg in First Contact but this one frequents top lists for a reason. It's a fun community with some folks working in the industry who post there often. The moderation staff is extremely reasonable and while we do have our forumite duds we typically work together to let them know in no uncertain terms that we hang out there to talk Trek and get to know one-another, not to cause trouble.

GateWorld. The web's #1 spot for Stargate since 1998 and for good reason, although I haven't been there much this past year or so. The Stargate fan community's in turmoil, really, and it's not the most pleasant place these days. The admins do what they can, though, bless their hearts and all that.

As a long standing member of the Tech TV forum and who had his account banned in advance on the G4TTV forum (how long that name stayed lol) given his protest on the merger *which my and others predictions were correct* and the fact only two of the original shows from both networks are still left I will have a rational well reasoned debate with you.

Ah who am I kidding

I STAB AT YEE YOU WHITE WHALE YOU AND YER BELOVED G-4 *Ahab yell*

Though from what I've seen of G4 as of late, if you call reruns of cops, and other shows Gaming, then yeah I agree.
