After trying cookie cutter AW/BM i decided on a more unreliable?/weird build for fun.

Rogue

38 Str
36 dex
26 cunning

Just hit lv 14.

Master Stealth (surprised this worked at all with the armor i use).
Coup de grace
Duel weap mastery
Momentum

Specialization; Ranger.

Equipped with Wades superior dragonskin my talents cost -12.5% to use, 75 fire resist and decent stam regen.

Using a 1 handed sword + the edge.

Going to stick with this build to see just how bad it is.

Shapeshifter/Arcane Warrior



Sort of a primal warrior or Shaman/Witch idea. Alas, it kind of stinks due to the way Shifting works but I still like the idea from an RP standpoint.



Focus on spirit magic since your mage form is for taking out mages (mana clash, prison, undead minion) and your shapes for handling melee. Maybe chuck in a bit of Entropy for a voodoo feel...

I'm playing a necromancer build atm. Pretty fun, no CC, just empowered animate dead and virulent walking bomb atm. All I can say is I LOVE LOVE LOVE blowing Alistair to little pieces with walking bomb every fight. SO...damn...satisfying.  I might even keep him in my group this playthrough so I can smear him across the floor every chance I get.

Human Nobleman, Warrior Champion/Duelist.
How's that for an odd character build?

Just about to max out Shield talents (Have everything but Shield Expertise, not sure it's worth it), Maxed out the Bravery line of Warrior talents, but have no points in the Precise Striking line. Three points Champion, one point Duelist. Level 14.

Not really odd, more of a mistake..



I started leveling 2H warrior skills early in the game, intending to be slugging around a 2hander, but it turns out that I'm still using the Shield I got from the Human Noble origin & a pretty average dwarven longsword. I'm having quite a hard time finding weapon upgrades.

Umm, isn't Duelist a Rogue spec?

I think it was suggested somewhere in the rogue DPS thread that ranger may in fact be the highest DPS specialization(higher than assassin even) once you take the 4th tier talent and add in pet DPS. From my experience with Leliana, I tend to agree. (I'm thinking of going through an assassin/ranger rogue archer playthrough soon)



As for your build I wouldn't say bad...just not optimized. I think the most interesting build I've seen is a 2h Maul backstabbing rogue. The person who mentioned it said he was getting 70-80ish backstabs at level 7(?) I think.



Dual-wielding warrior tanks that pump dex and tank with defense and medium armor also sounded quite interesting. Reminds me of dual-wielding/2hander death knight tanks in WoW, gotta try that sometime.

I know im gonna get called a douch for this but please learn to spell ROGUE its not hard ROUGE is a colour.

Any RPG fan would know how to spell Rogue.
This annoys me, its even worse on WoW where people are actually using that class and still spell it wrong.

It's "douche"...
